Chapter 7 - ESCAPE

As the intense battle between Liang Chen and the Karil Snake reached its climax, both combatants fought with unwavering determination. Liang Chen's agile movements and swift strikes were countered by the serpent's venomous fangs and lightning-fast strikes.

Despite Liang Chen's valiant efforts, the Karil Snake proved to be on a whole other level. Its venomous bite found its mark, sinking deep into Liang Chen's flesh. Pain seared through his body as the venom coursed through his veins, weakening his limbs and clouding his vision.

Realizing the dire situation he was in, Liang Chen summoned the last vestiges of his strength to disengage from the battle. With a burst of energy, he managed to create a brief opening and swiftly retreated, his movements labored and unsteady. The Karil Snake, sensing its prey's attempt to escape, pursued with relentless determination, its venomous intent undeterred.

Desperation fueled Liang Chen's actions as he sprinted through the dense forest, his mind clouded by pain and fear. In his frantic escape, he paid no heed to his direction, his sole focus on evading the relentless pursuit of the serpent. The forest, shrouded in shadows, seemed to close in around him, thorns and branches tearing at his clothes and skin.

In a cruel twist of fate, Liang Chen's desperate flight led him to an unforeseen hazard. As he ran blindly, his foot caught on a hidden root, causing him to stumble and lose his balance. With a heart-wrenching cry, he plummeted into a deep, dark hole, his body crashing against jagged rocks as he descended.

The fall left Liang Chen battered and broken, his injuries compounded by the venom coursing through his veins. Despite his pain, he mustered every ounce of willpower to remain silent, his breath shallow and his movements stilled, as the Karil Snake slithered above, its venomous gaze searching for any sign of its fallen prey.

Liang Chen lay trapped, unable to move due to the severity of his injuries. His mind raced with desperate thoughts as he fought against the encroaching darkness. The sounds of the snake's frustrated hissing echoed through the hole, taunting him with the knowledge that he was not yet safe.

In this moment of vulnerability and physical agony, Liang Chen's resilience and determination shone through. He steeled his resolve, drawing upon his inner strength to endure the pain and formulate a survival plan. With each passing moment, he knew that his chances of escape dwindled, but he refused to succumb to despair.

And so, Liang Chen remained trapped, his body broken and his spirit tested. The Southern Mountain Range, once a realm of mystique and adventure, had become a perilous crucible. In the depths of darkness, surrounded by the echoes of his pain, Liang Chen clung to hope, his unwavering spirit a beacon of resilience amidst the shadows.

In the depths of the hole, Liang Chen's injuries weighed heavily upon him, each movement sending waves of agony through his battered body. He lay there, his mind a whirlwind of thoughts and emotions, contemplating his next move.

As time passed, Liang Chen's senses gradually adjusted to the darkness surrounding him. He took stock of his injuries, assessing the extent of the damage and the toll it had taken on his body. It was clear that he could not come up with a solution to escape this predicament.

Liang Chen sat there in the darkness hoping that the snake would give up and leave but it was later clear that that was not going to happen. How long could he wait, he could already feel himself losing consciousness. He had tried all the common antidotes that unranked hunters like himself always carry when out on a mission but it had proven to be useless.

As his vision blurred and thirst began to kick in he was helpless on what to do when suddenly he felt his hand touch something beside him. Trying to get a clearer picture of what it was, he realized it was a bowl filled with water, he hurriedly carried it up and began guzzling the water. However, the moment he finished drinking he immediately fell unconscious but as he slept the water permeated his body, washing all his cells and pushing the poison out. An observer would think at this moment that Liang Chen was glowing.

The water was changing him on a fundamental level and only in the future will he realize this. He lay after a very long time he finally woke up. He could not exactly tell how long he had been sleeping here seeing as the hole was in a state of perpetual darkness and he could not tell the difference between night and day. Soon he realized that he could see a little bit clearer through the darkness and though the distance was not long he could at least make out his immediate environment and as he looked carefully into the darkness he immediately became tense when he realized he was not alone down here.
