Chapter 10 - SS. 2: The Black Soul

"That spoiled child is asking for more humans, huh?" The god of Earth muttered upon getting a message from his junior god. The specific god that he had gotten the request from was known far and wide among gods for a far different reason than the god of Earth was.

"I'll send him that one, then..." Earth's god had a specific child in mind. In fact, he'd send the child's classmates as well.

"Maybe this will teach the Puppeteer a little something..."

...

"Hmm… Amale is summoning otherworlders, huh? I suppose I can connect the spell to my senior's world." The god of the world Ryune decided upon getting a request for an [Aided Heroic Summoning].

He was a younger god and had not gotten around to draining all of the magic from his planet yet. His 'senior's' world was in fact Earth. Compared to the god of Earth, this god was young, and he idolized the senior god, who had given him multiple tips to help increase the number of puppets... humans... in his world.

He trusted that any Hero sent from Earth would be an interesting addition to his world, though he didn't really care. After all, if one of the Heroes went out of control and eradicated all life on the planet, the young god could just summon more people and recolonize his planet. That would be fun.

After sending the spell through, the young god needed to process the souls on their way between worlds as part of the aided summoning. The Unique Skills that each soul gained were fit to each soul, but the more power he gave them, the stronger that the skill that they developed would be. He could actually customize the skills that each soul gained quite a bit by controlling the power that he gave the soul.

"Let's make this first one fairly weak. This one'll be a little stronger, but let's make sure it's not useful in battle." Each of the souls had a different color and shape.

The great thing about Earth was that each soul was tempered in a unique way, all their anger and resentment right below the surface, unreleased due to the strict rules of the many societies that ruled over the planet. The majority of them would have full-on meltdowns when they realized that the world that they were now in was far more harsh than the quiet city life that they were used to, with far fewer rules.

There were a few exceptions to the rule when it came to souls, though.

The last two souls that went through Kid's sanctuary were far different than the other meek souls. The second to last soul was the closest one to white that Kid had seen out of the whole batch.

From what Kid could tell, this person was incredibly suited to being a peon. They had a unique ability to ignore their own opinions and morals when ordered to do so, yet the morals that they pretended to have gave them a large measure of charisma. Maybe if he gave them a Hero power, that stupid kingdom would toss them at the Demon domain, then kill them. He made them the Hero of Light for fun.

The last soul had an entirely different presence than anything else Kid had ever seen. It was pitch black and almost perfectly spherical.

The more he looked at it, the more he realized why it had such a defined form. The energy inside the soul was practically screaming in rage, spinning with such speed that it forced itself into a tight form. This soul was literally just a ball of unstoppable rage. Calling it human would be a poor joke.

This was an absolute monster in human form. Allowing it to gain any sort of power would definitely lead to it simply destroying everything.

Luckily for Grant, the young god found him interesting. If he destroyed the world, the god figured he'd just be able to kill him later.

So the god started to pour a little bit of his power in, but something strange happened.

With a single taste of his power, the soul started sucking power from the god at a rapid rate. It almost felt like… Pain? the young god cut it off as soon as he could, but the inhuman ball of rage had already sucked out more power than he had intended to give, and he couldn't tell what skill it was forming into.

"It's not enough for [Omnipotence], but it probably will be enough to destroy the world. Oh well." The young god knew that this thing would never be able to handle that much power.

It would destroy everything around it and never be satisfied. It was just a matter of time. With that assurance in mind, he sent the batch of souls down to Amale.
