Much later, as Scarlet guessed, Justin came in search of her because he was hungry. She gave him food and sent him and Esong on their way to a father-son date. Esong needed to explain in person to his son that he would not be seeing him for a few months.
When she saw them at bedtime two hours later, Justin's eyes were red and Esong had a solemn look on his face.
"Mommy, I am sleeping in your bed tonight." he told her.
"Of course baby. Not just tonight, but every other night until when you decide that you don't want to." she told him.
