Chapter 13 - Slow And Steady

Marco and Cecilia sat at the swing watching the birds chirp and the bees perching gently on the flowers. The warm breeze brushed Cecilia's cheeks making her take a deep breath.

"It's a lovely view isn't it?" Marco asked smiling, his gaze not leaving hers.

"Yes, it is. The garden is so beautiful." Cecilia complimented as she closed her eyes hoping to savor her moment.

"Hold on little puppy," Marco's voice came in urgency as Cecilia opened her eyes only no

find him leaning against her, her doe eyes widened as she didn't know what his moves were. "Hold still, something's on your hair." He said as he removed the piece of leaf that fell inside her hair.

Cecilia's face flushed in embarrassment as she was thinking the negative side of his actions.

"Silly little pup." Marco chuckled.

Cecilia slapped his shoulders gently as he helped her get down from the swing as he strode around the garden, plucking and tasting some ripe fruits that were suitable for consumption.

"Have a bite, Marco. This strawberry tastes good." Cecilia offered as she stretched forth the fruit to him.

"It looks delicious, why don't you have a bite first." Marco declined her offer with a sheepish smile on his face making Cecilia frown.

She didn't know what was going through his mind with how excited he seemed. Eishhh, he's the opposite of his bitchy eyed brother.

Without hesitation, Cecilia took a bite of the strawberry before giving it to Marco who had a bite from it as well, at the same place Cecilia ate from.

"It's an indirect kiss, little puppy. " Marco giggled.

Cecilia's cheeks flushed as she slapped his shoulders. "I'm gonna kill you, Marco." She said like a little pup as she chased Marco around the garden as they unexpectedly bumped into each other making them land on the busy ground with Cecilia on top of him.

His face was just so perfect that she couldn't help but stare, his ears were so sexy that she couldn't stop herself from admiring.

Marco, on the other hand, didn't want this feeling to end as he savored his moment with Cecilia on top of him.

Realizing that the might get caught, she shook her head, jolting back her senses as she climbed off him, apologizing.

"There's no need to apologize, little pup. You're returning the favor, your secret is safe with me as long as you spend time with me." Marco winked at her. Before Cecilia could utter any more words she gestured for them to get back in.

"Right, Miguel might be looking for me," Cecilia said as she happily jogged her way into the mansion leaving Marco behind.

"Slow and steady wins the race." He muttered to himself as he let out a dark chuckle before heading inside oblivious to the fact that someone was watching them all along, a hearty chuckle escaped the person's lips.

Miguel, however, was about to go check on Cecilia in the room they shared after a long and tiring work he finished from his workshop. Seeing that she wasn't in the room made his heart race. But why?

"Marco?!" He clenched his fist, gritting his teeth as he stormed downstairs only to find Cecilia coming up in his direction with a sheepish smile on her face.

"Hey, Miguel." She waved at him, humming to an unfamiliar tone before leaving for the room.

"What's up with her?" Miguel asked curiously as he had never seen her in such a blissful mood. He was about to retreat in his steps when his gaze met with his brother from afar. He shrugged his shoulder before joining Cecilia, closing the door behind him with a loud thud.

Cecilia was sitting peacefully on the bed, her eyes fixed on her phone as she ignored his presence.

Miguel didn't know why he cared so much about her affairs with his brother. Was he trying to secure his image or was he abruptly jealous of the whole situation? He gritted his teeth in annoyance. This wasn't the time to think about it as his company's fashion show was just around the corner. He dashed to the washroom to snap the thoughts of Cecilia and Marco out of his head.

"What's up with him?" Cecilia asked inwardly as she glanced at the closed door. Without thinking too much about it, she continued scrolling through the hot topic that also included MG's upcoming fashion show. "Aren't the bloggers ever getting tired of flaunting Miguel's picture?" She creased her brow when she came across the pictures of MG's hot CEO.

With a sigh, she dropped her phone and cuddled herself on the bed while thinking about her encounter with Marco. Her heartbeat accelerated at the thought of his charming face. Why doesn't she feel the same way with Miguel even when she's his acclaimed wife? Thinking about how Marco addressed her as a little pup and his smiles got her goosebumps. What was this feeling?

Miguel came out of the washroom and sat beside her on the large bed. "What are you thinking about?" He asked seeing the latter in deep thought.

Cecelia was startled by his sudden appearance as she sat up. "Nothing at all. You must have worked hard for the upcoming show, it's all over the internet."

"Of course. I don't joke with my company." He agreed, his voice stern and his countenance unreadable.

This man was the same man Cecilia had a crush on when she had never met him but what were her feelings for him turning into? Ash?

"I see. You might get busy till the end of this week."

"Yes, not happy about it?" He raised his brow waiting patiently for her answer.

His question caught her unawares but she masked it up with a smile. "Of course not. I can't be a distraction." She chuckled mischievously, but he remained still.

"You aren't even worthy to be called a distraction," Miguel said with a stern look on his face, his statement was enough to render Cecilia speechless as the latter was dazed by his comeback.

She didn't know the right feeling she was supposed to be have, if she should be happy about it or not.
