Despite the teasing, Ross maintained her composure, though she couldn't help but smile at the playful banter.

Ross cleared her throat. "I have a sore throat," she explained, her voice slightly hoarse.

After a brief moment of laughter, the class resumed.

Bright stole a glance behind him, catching Ross's eye. He then reached out his hand. "I'm Bright," he introduced himself.

"Ross," she replied curtly.

"Thank you for saving me," he whispered.

Ross shrugged nonchalantly before pretending to flip through the pages of her book, seemingly disinterested.

From her research on Bright's life at Cooper Cove, Emma White was portrayed as a girl who was hard to approach and almost friendless. She tended to be serious, enjoyed reading books, and was stubborn. So, Ross adopted her character when facing Bright.

And it worked.
