Chapter 4 - We met

Saying she didn't wait for Oliver's reply before jumping out of the window in her gown. She didn't try to do it the hard way, because the gown and the jewelry were given to her by her father and brother, and she couldn't afford to damage them.

One by one she passed all the barricades very easily. Avoiding her guards was nowhere hard for her anymore. She already knew her way out of the palace. The hard part was to avoid guests' gazes and their security guards eye's.

The palace was full of people everywhere around. The occasion is big so the celebration is bigger. Now, in the middle of the party, it was hard for her. If it was any other time she would never choose such a time to run away, but after hearing her father's plan, she had no choice but to take a risk and leave now and then.

Every inch of the palace was brightened up by Oliver's order. And Ivy can't afford to leave even her shadow's presence behind.

After avoiding guests, she hid herself behind trees to avoid all the cameras. Once done, she finally reached the blind spot which she had decided upon. She took care of the electric fences like an expert. However, even after that, only one problem was left for her to take care of. How to climb the wall in her gown.

Her decision to not damage her clothes made it very hard for her to climb. Clenching her fist, she took the hem of her gown and folded it up to her knees.

Patiently, she took her time, climbing up the wall. Once she was at the top, she hurriedly pulled down her gown back to its position.

"My poor clothes. I am really sorry. The moment I am out, I will change into something else immediately." She whispered slowly.

She was about to jump down when she realized that she could easily stumble upon a gown. The wall was 20 feet tall. It wouldn't be that hard for her to jump off in her training clothes. But in a gown? She highly doubted.

While she was still thinking about it, she heard someone's voice, as his footsteps were walking toward her side of the wall.

She got all vigilant. Luckily that person is on the other side of the wall. While she was still thinking about it, she heard him talking on his phone.

Because the street light was in front of Ivy's feet, it was very hard for anyone to spot her in that dark alley. Moreover, Ivy has learned how to hide her presence in the dark from a very young age. Only if one puts their guards on all the time, and Ivy makes a mistake, then only one can spot her.

"I am still here. I don't know for how long." The man talked on the phone while taking his steps forward.

"...."

"I wouldn't be here if it wasn't about your Master's order. So do not let me hear another word from you anymore." He said after a pause.

Initially, when Ivy saw him, she doubted his identity as her security guard and that's why she decided to hide. However, seeing his attire she knew at once that he was some guest who came here with some master. Realizing that he is not a part of some big family she decided to take some help instead of hiding from him.

Not noticing Ivy's gawking eyes at him, that man was still busy with his phone call. "Where I should be handling my office matters, I am handling some loosehead girl. I don't care about your master, get me -"

"Excuse me?" Ivy shouted to get his attention.

"..." Mason instinctively looked up to the voice in surprise.

Getting his attention, Ivy spoke again. "Sorry but can you talk a little bit later and hear me first?"

Hearing a sudden voice that was close to him, Mason instantly turned to the voice. Looking up at the top of the wall he saw a silhouette of a girl dangling her legs back and forth, dangling around as if she was having the best part of the day there.

He was a little stunned to see a girl sitting at the top of the wall. He didn't sense her presence at all. Moreover, the wall was easily twenty feet tall. Any common man would be afraid of standing at the top of such a wall. How can a girl be so casual about it?

That instantly made him cautious of her presence as it can't be good news.

"Am I visible to you? Why are you not replying!" Ivy shouted again but cautiously too.

"..." Mason still said nothing.

"Hey, I've got no time! Stop playing mute games, I know you are not mute!"

"..."

In response, Ivy's eyes got narrowed. She very well knows that the man isn't mute or deaf, he is just ignoring her presence completely.

'What a cold person he is. Hmph.' She thought.

"I am about to jump, you better catch me!" Ivy straightforwardly said.

She doesn't care much if he will be able to help her not, she has to jump down anyway. She can't waste more time chit-chatting and convincing the other man. Her father and brother would know about her absence any minute now, and then... Only god knows what will happen.

Giving one last look at that man, Ivy yelled before jumping off. "Okay, then I am coming!"
