The room was filled with yells and arguments. Mainly Charlie wanted to scratch Kate's face but with Lucas holding her back she couldn't get close to Kate.
"You can't say stuff like that!" Zayn said with clenched teeth earning an eye roll from Kate.
Benjamin grabbed Kate's arm only for her to snatch it away, pushing Benjamin back with her Alpha abilities.
Chuckling Benjamin dusted off his shoulder "I don't want to fight you Kate, but it looks like you're looking for a fight with me"
"Now that you mentioned it Benjamin , why don't the two Alpha's have a fight, no rules, whoever wins gets to be the permanent alpha of the pack" Olivia scoffs trying not to laugh at Kate.
"I know that's the alpha in you speaking-" Benjamin was cut off when the door busted open revealing Killian running inside with Jake at his back.
"OH MY GOD!" Kate wails, sprinting to Killian. Jake is dropped on the floor, as Kate kneels by his side.
"WHAT HAPPENED TO HIM?!" She screams.
"What the hell happened? JakeJake!" Noah asks Killian kneeling next to Jake trying to wake him up.
His shirt was stained with blood and his veins were turning red.
"He was shot!" Killian replies.
"How?!" Benjamin asks, confused.
"Why isn't he healing" Diana asks "He was shot so he should be healing right?" she adds
"Wolfsbane" Charlie whispers, placing her palm against her mouth.
"That's not the point now! What do we do?" Zayn questions looking up to Killian.
"Well the wolfsbane isn't allowing him to heal from the shot and the poison is spreading all over his body, y'all can see from the red veins, he'll die once the poison gets to his heart" Kate cries cupping Jake's face.
"Are we just going to let him die?! There has to be something!" She yells, tears running down her face like a waterfall.
"Killian!" Cole and Justin shout urging Killian to speak.
"His mate would have to share his pain with him" Killian says looking at Kate with a smirk on his face.
"That's- That's too much for her" Lucas stutters shaking his head.
"Too much for a beta but not too much for an Alpha" His blind gaze never leaving Kate he states shoving his hands into his cargo pants.
"I'll do it" With that she takes Jake's hand into hers, closing her eyes and sucking in a sharp breath.
"She'll be taking the pain from both the wolfsbane and the gunshot" Zayn says to Diana who looked confused taking her hand into he's.
Everyone gasps when Jake coughs out blood. "You're not trying harder!" Killian yells, getting scared that the poison would reach Jake's heart any moment from now.
"I'm trying!" Kate shouts crying hard, her nose running and tears streaming down her cheeks endlessly.
"Look I Know your emotions are all over the place right now, but you have to focus" Benjamin squats placing his hand at her back.
Kate bites down on her lower lip, hard enough to draw a little blood.
She takes in a deep breath, her grip on Jake's hands tightening. She lets out a loud ear piercing scream when she begins to feel Jake's pain, the veins on her hand turning red one by one.
Her screams didn't stop, the pain could be seen on her face. Slim and tiny red veins scattered all over her face as she took away more of her mate's pain.
Everyone takes a step back when her eyes shoot open, but what surprises everyone is the fact that her eyes were no longer red, they were blue.
The veins on Jake's body began to fade away slowly.
"Thank God" Killian whispers, dropping his frame on the couch behind him. Kate's grip on Jake's hand loosened as she dropped on the floor going unconscious.
"Kate!" Charlie shouts rushing to her but was not quick enough to catch her before her back hit the ground.
"What happened to her?" Justin turns to Killian.
"She just took Jake's pain, of course she'll be unconscious" He sasses picking his nails with crossed legs.
"I'm sure you know that's not what he means" Noah comments.
"Why did her eyes turn blue?" Zayn asks, earning a nod from the others.
"Oh that!" Killian laughs "She's a beta now" Chuckling he states.
Shocked would be a big understatement to describe what everyone was feeling. How? Why? We're the questions going through their minds.
"What do you mean?" Benjamin steps forward asking the question everyone needed answers to. Killian exhales standing to his feet.
"Did y'all forget I came here for a reason?" He asks, looking at Jake and Kate lying next to each other. "I was called to help their case right?" He asks again "That's exactly what I did, there can never be two Alphas in a pack, one has to...." He hums "be removed" Killian completes shrugging.
"So she's no longer an alpha?" Diana asks, pointing at an unconscious Kate.
"Nope...she was.... what's the word...un-alphaed" He laughs at his own joke shaking his head.
"So you're behind what happened to Jake?" Cole asked, stepping closer to Killian, his temper rising.
"What? No!" He dramatically gasps "I just knew Diana's mum and her gang were nearby, and that they had wolfsbane, I needed a way to put Jake in big harm"
"Do you know Jake would have died if your psychotic plan didn't work?!" Olivia snaps, shoving Killian's chest.
"Now Olivia, you and I both know you should take it easy" He raises a brow at her and she clears her throat stepping back.
"The only way to get rid of an alpha is either by killing them or stripping them of everything that makes them an alpha, the amount of pain she took wasn't child's play" He states lowering his voice at the last sentence. "And only an alpha would have done that, but the price to pay for taking that much pain is....well we all saw what happened, Kate is a beta now...your pack has nothing else to worry about" Killian completes walking away and up the stairs.
Cole quickly carries Jake bridal style, placing him on the couch, and Noah does the same to Kate.
"So..." Lucas starts earning a shove by Charlie.
"I didn't think this would be the only way to solve the problem," Benjamin says.
"I'm sure she'll understand, she did it for Jake" Zayn mumbles.
"We just have to not tell them that all this was planned" Olivia adds and everyone nods in agreement.
