Chereads / Supreme Transmigrator-Axton Zavier / Chapter 4 - FINALLY, I'M HOME

Chapter 4 - FINALLY, I'M HOME

Axton had recently celebrated his eighteenth birthday just two months before he was sent on such a deadly mission.

Martin ransacked the memories, and saw that the boy, Axton, had some issues with this so-called family head.

From the interactions he saw in his memory, he had been forced a couple of times to leave the house and property, he had even been offered some money for it, when Martin watched that memory, the amount of money that was given for the house made him boil in anger.

He knew that he wasn't the boy, but he could feel everything that the boy had felt. His father had greatly suffered to get that house, who did the family head think he was to offer it for such amount.

He had offered a sum of seven hundred silver loins just for the whole property, if it was that important to him, why didn't he offer a much higher price.

Martin sighed, he could feel the emotions of the boy from the memories, the property was the only thing he had left from his parents and he didn't want to lose it.

Martin suddenly had a new goal in mind. He had to do justice to the family's head on behalf of Axton, it would be a thank you package for the provision of the body.

Axton was neglected and treated badly as the family head made very sure that the rest of the other family went against the boy. Axton never really went out and when he did, he was always bullied by the noble children, the ones from inside the family line.

To add to his headaches, Axton had no talent.

He was meant to open a second rune the moment he reached eighteen but he had couldn't afford the awakening. Suddenly Martin realized that the symbols on the back of the lady's hand was the so called rune.

He had also failed the rune awakening at the age of sixteen which was what made him practice harder, he had trained desperately thinking he could be one of those rare prodigies that a great fortune would happen to after their massive misfortunes.

Usually, it was the family's responsibility to process all its members' rune awakening both internal and external members.

However, due to the beef between Axton and the family head over the property, he was casted aside, so the orphan had to perform measly jobs to earn some money but without a rune, there was little he could do as most employers wanted workers who possessed runes.

After gathering up some money, Axton decided to go to a little rune awakener, from the memories he saw, Martin could only facepalm himself, the whole interaction he saw Axton having with this so-called stranger was so nonsensical that Martin immediately knew it was all a scam, and he could feel the doubt in Axton's head.

Yet the boy had gone to this rune awakener's shop and paid for the awakening of a rune because he had no money to afford a better rune awakening.

Martin didn't know the right way to awaken a rune, so he couldn't tell from the memories if the awakener was a scam or not but after the whole thirty minutes, Axton was declared as unable to awaken a rune which shattered his being as he had hoped to make his dead parents proud by being successful, so this poor orphan became depressed and he didn't think twice before offering himself off to die in this mission.

Apparently, he had his parents to comfort him when he failed the first awakening but now, he was all by himself.

Axton had met Liam during the mission and they had become very close well now Liam had died but Martin had seen why Liam and Axton had become close.

Liam was a good kid, he talked a whole lot about the important and unimportant things, but well, he was not here now.

Then his thoughts went back to the lady in front of him, she didn't know that what she had asked was very provoking, and Martin wasn't going to say a thing but the least he could do was explain.

"F**k uhn…? It's like a word you say when you are excited, angry, sad or when you feel a sudden rush of emotions."

Martin said, walking beside the girl, it seemed like his use of exquisite lingual knowledge had done his job for him as he stared at the girl whose eyes were slightly widened in curiosity.

Martin admitted that she had pretty eyes, although they would look better if they were rolled back.

"I see… it sounds like something I wouldn't want to say. It is unintelligent" she said with a scoff and turned her head resuming the journey.

"Don't worry, I'll make you scream it soon." Martin muttered to himself trying to patch up his already broken ego. She was brutal.

They walked further down the road, and Martin realized that they had left the area of the battle as he couldn't spot any more dead bodies or most importantly any pieces of flesh.

A group of people were approaching them, and when they came closer, these people instantly focused on the girl. There were four of them and it seemed like they had pretty high status.

Martin thought that he would probably see some of them later on, so he decided to memorize their faces, causing his eyes to scan across the group.

There was a man who looked like he was twenty years old, just like Martin was in his previous life. Pride was directly etched on his face along with a dark blue hair as if he was plucked out of a webtoon series.

He was fairly built, not too bulky, just the right proportion to make any lady milky for him. He looked like a six-footer as he crossed his arms in front of him.

The man didn't even crack a smile and his eyes was directly on the princess, but suddenly the man felt someone's stare on him but as he turned his eyes, Martin was already looking at the next person who looked the exact opposite of the first man.

He had a brunette hair color, unlike the rest of them, he was the only one who had no shirt on as his stomach protruded in front of him.

Martin was sure just a little needle would do the trick and poof.

He chuckled lightly taking a look at the next person, there was no need for excessive description, he was just bald and old with no extra details. He was basically an old looking stick figure.

The last one was actually short and wore glasses, he carried the most luggage so Martin guessed he was the weakest one, as he struggled to keep the bags in balance.

The funny thing about the glasses boy was that he had appeared a lot of times in Axton's memories, so why wasn't he with Axton for the mission? from the memories, it looked like no one knew about Axton's departure except those handling the distribution of those missions and the owners of the missions.

The bald old man was the first person to utter a statement, he waved his hands frantically as he spoke,

"Princess, you aren't meant to leave the company assigned for you. What if something bad had happened? Your father would have my head and castrate me." The Baldy said with a sense of panic in his voice.

As he spoke, he casted a side eye at Martin who was scratching his head, the old man could not quite picture where he had seen the boy before, but he knew he was familiar.

"I'm sorry Uncle. I felt the vibration of a king's gem and I wanted it." It was the first time Martin had seen the girl act so respectful, maybe this her so-called uncle was an actual big-shot.

As the movement continued, Martin soon realized that the girl was of outmost importance with the way they stuck close to her and the six footer tried to make a conversation with her, he looked pitiful.

They had all basically forgotten about Martin while he was left at the back kicking stones, it was probably because they didn't regard him as anything special but f**k them.

Martin's eyes wandered and he tried to catch a glimpse of the back of their hands and he spotted the same runes on each of their hands but their designs were different.

He sighed and looked at his own hand, nothing.

No symbol. Useless.

And when Martin thought that the journey would take forever, he looked up and saw that they were passing through a thick forest and soon enough they arrived in a bustling city.

His eyes widened as he took in the aspects of the surrounding he had found himself in.

It looked very busy, there were food stands lined at corners, restaurants, he saw shops that sold different materials, strange equipments, and unique looking stones, some of them looked like what he had seen in that huge Beast orc. The red lady had referred to it as a King Gem.

The items that were lined in the shops were unlike what he had ever seen before. Just then, his eyes widened as he looked closer, some of these people were floating, like their legs weren't touching the ground.

Martin rubbed his hands over his eyes, they were literally off the ground.

He suddenly felt a whoosh over his head causing him to glance up. There were people flying above his head, and that previous whoosh meant that someone had flown over his head.

They flew in the air like it was something natural.

Unlike the world he came from, zooming across the sky would lead you to being captured by the government and being put through a lot of experiments.

He heard from a source, that those experiments were life-threatening and some had died, never to be heard of again.

Martin smiled as he watched everyone, somewhere inside him, his heart was beating in excitement, he wanted to do the same thing.

Looking closer, he realized that some of these people didn't have runes on their hand. These people were neither flying or floating.

After a while, Martin realized that the people he was following had gone ahead of him and he had to run to catch up to them.

They walked into a large building, it had a sign titled, "Corporation of Adventurers".

From Axton's memories, this was where he had gotten the mission from.

Apparently, he has gotten a mission placed by the family he came from, it seemed that one had to be at an higher level before they could choose missions from other families.

--------

"Are you saying that you were the only one left alive for your group?" A sexy looking girl who looked like she applied excessive red lipstick said eyeing Martin with an arched brow as she shamelessly chewed gum.

Martin's eyes scanned her throughly gauging her likable features.

She wasn't his type, he finally concluded. If the word 'Moderate' was a human, she would definitely be the one. Her chest was moderate, he was sure her ass was also moderate.

Her face was the kind you would ignore at first glance but it was memorable if you'd try to look at it the second time.

"Yes." Martin answered as if it was absolutely normal for the weakest of the team to remain alive while the other strongest ones had died.

"You have no rune." The lady pushed him further, trying to hint at the trouble that was going to come later on.

"Yes." Martin answered with the same ignorant tone.

His eyes were fixated on the lady's nails, if she wanted to kill him right now, it'd be easy, all she needed to do was grab his neck and stick her nails into his flesh. Yes, it was long enough to put five deep holes in his neck.

"I see. What level was your mission?" She said taking a look at her records.

Martin blanked out for a second.

Level?

Then he hurriedly searched Axton's memories.

Found it.

"It was Tiger cub level." He said looking up at her face for a second time.

"Tiger cub?! Then no one was meant to die." She hurriedly rushed through the book, letting out a tired grunt, she picked up the telephone by her side.

Martin looked at her, he could say that everyone had died including Axton but somehow, a transmigration had brought him here and in Axton's body, that was why the boy was still alive well at least his body but even if there were flying people around, he wasn't so sure that they had heard of such a thing or they would actually take him seriously.

If they did take him seriously, He could probably be taken to their own government officials, that was if they had something like the FBI in his world, and then some terrible experiments would be performed on him.

"Put the mission given by the Kian's family as Tiger Level. Why would you make such mistake? You were told it was Tiger cub? Sigh… Just do what I told you."

Martin's eyes moved to guage if her tits would fit in his palm but the tag that was placed on her breast pocket caught his eyes, 'Jasmine'.

After some few seconds of yelling, Jasmine sighed and put down the phone then she faced Martin who was trying to read something about the Adventurer's rules placed on the wall.

"Axton, I'm sorry about your team. I was told that it was your family that made the mistake." Jasmine said with an apologetic smile.

Martin immediately understood, it was all a ploy by the family head, but how did he know that Axton was going for a mission at that time and why did he have to endanger the lives of other people.

Liam wasn't supposed to die.

Martin loosened his fist, he had a smile on his face but his hand had curled into a fist signifying his anger. Now he was going to definitely kill that family head, but it was only a matter of time.

After a few processes, Martin was handed some compensation for his dead teammates and the job they had done on the mission. At least now life didn't seem bleak with the bag of loins in his pocket.

"Thank you Liam, I'll still avenge you." He said as he left the building.

He looked around, the young red lady and her company had left.

He sighed, he didn't get a chance to grab her name, he only knew that bald old man had called her 'Princess'

His legs moved on their own as if they had memorized the path and he saw himself standing in front of a very familiar building, his home.

"Finally, I'm home. Time to know what exactly the f**k is going on."
