Chapter 13 - STRANGE VISITORS

******

Martin had gone shopping immediately after school.

He had heard some rumors that Jin and Rob would not be attending the school anymore but he wasn't sure, he had later seen Bill that afternoon and the poor guy was avoiding him.

He arrived home with a bag of grocery items in his hand, he had spent a gold loin and the food he bought was enough to last him for a month and the half.

After whipping up some food, he say down to eat musing over his cooking skills.

Martin himself didn't know how to cook, as a matter of fact, he had never prepared a dish at him before, it was the maids that did all the jobs in the mansion.

Nevertheless, this new body efficiently handled the cooking like it was some kind of inbuilt skill.

Dinner time came and went and Martin was full of energy, he sat crossed legged in the middle of his home.

He looked around his house, he needed to make it look better, at least he still had a few amount of cash to make it look good.

_Time to begin learning that first primary spell; Wind Blades_

Martin thought as he focused his attention on the rune on his right hand.

Martin had decided to cultivate his wind elemental rune first so he could at least lay low for a while, then he would cultivate the lightning rune on his chest and finally, he would deal with the fire rune.

Normally, students spent hours cultivating the first spell of their acquired rune because it was their first time going through something this strange, then as they increased in strength, it would be easier to cultivate and form other spells.

Once Martin could perfectly cultivate the three spells of any rune, he would be able to awaken.

Martin knew he wouldn't be able to perform the second awakening himself because opening the first four meridians that were on the surface was very hard and it had taken a lot of time for him to breakthrough.

Now the second awakening was like going to the inner parts of the meridians openings and try to force them to open, he needed an expert for it.

Martin closed his eyes and emptied his mind, he had to release himself from every stray thoughts before he could picture an empty space.

Now he needed to find the lines of the runes and try to join them together in order to create the huge symbol in his head.

If he could create this symbol, he would be able to finally use Rune Magic.

He couldn't wait as he started to imagine the things he would do especially with the wind magic.

_Focus Axton, let's do this_

Martin restarted the process and began to cultivate. He stayed in that position for hours, sweat dripping down his body.

He was using mana as he cultivated.

Normally a human would be able to use their average mana supply for two and the half hours, the very talented ones would be able to stay for four hours but Martin had stayed in the same position for seven hours, veins had begun to pop out of his forehead.

He could feel his close proximity to success, so he didn't want to break the process even if every of the cells in his body wanted him to stop as they cried in agony, he still had to keep up with the process.

A line of blood flowed down his nose and finally, he opened his eyes.

He had been able to put one line of the rune symbol in place, it was tough but he finally did it even if it was one. Even if it was slow, at least it was progress.

His head ached as he wiped the blood from his nose.

It was already four am and Martin had to be in school by six in the morning.

He strangely found out that he didn't feel tired. The time he had spent cultivating was enough to wash out any form of tiredness or weakness.

He had to wait for two hours extra before he could go to school.

_I should try some exercises then_

He then went down and started doing push-ups.

His strength still got in his way as his hands were pressed into the floor creating a dents but he still continued with his exercises.

He had read in his books that mages were weak in close combat and that was why there were humans who left the path of cultivation to trained their body. They were called Body cultivators.

He wasn't interested in this line but he knew that if he wanted to become a mage and someone recognizable in this world, he couldn't die in a close combat match.

He would ensure he learnt everything in this world, he would make sure he knew a bit about every skill.

A room was filled with drops and wires attached to the body of a boy while a certain number of people gathered around him. His mother had turned her head away from him trying to prevent him from seeing her sorrowful tears but the subtle movement of her body gave it away.

"Who did this to you?" A loud voice boomed in the huge hall of the beautiful crafted mansion.

Jin couldn't see his father due to his bandages but he could hear the anger in his voice and fear creeped into his skin, causing goosebumps in his body.

"I… I" He didn't know what to say.

"You what? Answer me boy, who did this to you so we can make him pay." Dergin looked at his son, steam was visibly coming out of his ears.

His son laid on the hospital bed, he was bandaged from his head to his toes leaving only his mouth. His limbs had been broken, both hands and legs, and his face was disfigured.

Dergin knew the type of son he had. Jin was a bully, and Degrin didn't blame him, infact he even liked that his son was strong enough to put people in their place.

Jin would mess with anyone who dared to step on his toes, he was their first son and the first mage in their family.

Dergin had put a lot of money into ensuring his progress and now, he could feel himself on the verge of explosion, his son would not be able to practice magic again?!!

He wanted to know who had the fucking audacity!

"Axton and Bill" Jin said, he hated Axton, that measly orphan had ruined his life forever, he was now a cripple who would never be able to cultivate again.

He wanted Axton to pay for what he had done to him and he wanted Bill to regret ever betraying him, he would show them his true power and now they would become crippled just like him yet deep down Jin couldn't help but feel sad concerning the loss of his powers.

His family would have to relying on his younger brother but he didn't mind at the moment, all he cared about was seeing the painful look of Axton's face when his hands gets broken.

Knowing his dad, Axton would definitely receive what he had given Jin in ten folds.

"Axton? Bill?" Dergin muttered the name as his teeth clenched, he didn't care if the perpetrators were kids, he was going to end them and in their next life their would think twice before biting more than they could chew.

Martin hadn't even bother going to his class, because he knew that no teacher would bother coming to teach them, they all claimed to be super busy but he knew better. Who would waste their time with mere bottom feeders?

Martin had also refused to make friends with simple minded people as his classmates who didn't want to try hard enough so they could at least change their destiny.

He decided to visit the library again, he missed seeing that sassy young lady that chewed gum like her life depended on it.

He smiled at her as he handed over the books to her. His eyes moved to her name tag when she collected the books without giving him a single glance. Her name was Keira. It was a beautiful name.

He wanted more books, he realized that as soon as he started cultivating magic, he would need a cultivation room like Tana had told him and he needed to start learning more on beasts so he could get those mana gems.

Then he realized he had forgotten something, why was the Family Head after Axton's property so badly?

Martin knew that there was meant to be an hidden treasure but he had not spotted anything so far, so what was this treasure.

Suddenly someone came rushing to him and stood at his front with his hands spread out stopping him from moving any further.

"Lance?" Martin said with a confused smile, he had not seen the boy after he disappeared during that incident.

"No time for chitchat Axton. Bill is in trouble." Lance heavily panted while he shifted his glasses up, he had run a long way just to find Axton, because he believed that he was the only person could help Bill out.

Lance was a C-grade, it was his break time, he was coming out of the cafeteria, and wanted to relax in the school garden and he didn't know why his mind suddenly strayed away and he thought of Bill and his gang.

Did he miss them? Hell no!.

Why he miss such a dangerous and disgraceful thing? Which person in their right mind would miss being bullied?

He was better off without them and it was at that time, he had seen a blast of fire coming out from the middle of a strange group.

There was only one person he knew that used fire, so he tried to sneak in closer and he was right.

Bill was surrounded by four hefty men and they didn't look like they were students of this school.

He ran to the only person he thought could save Bill–Axton.
