"He doesn't love me. He is in with someone else." Kayla said as she stared into her mother's worried eyes.
"But... are you sure? How do you know?" mother asked, pacing in front of her. "you could have been mistaken,"
"i am sure," Kayla said wiping tears from her eyes. "i don't want to end up in a love less marriage. Ever since I was a child I have only ever wished for my marriage to be like yours, full of love. You both adore each other."
"oh my darling, you are right, and you should not settle for anything less." mother said hugging me to her. "don't cry for him my darling, you will find someone more wonderful than him."
Kayla was not crying that she didn't get to marry him, she was crying for the loss she has endured in the past, the loss of her child, the loss of her love, the loss of her life.
She had lost so many things. Now that life had given her a second chance she will not make the mistake of falling for the trap of marriage.
"He doesn't love me. He's in love with someone else," Kayla confessed, her eyes locked onto her mother's, which were filled with concern.
"But... are you sure? How do you know?" her mother asked, her steps pacing back and forth before her. "You could have been mistaken."
"I am sure," Kayla affirmed, wiping tears from her eyes. "I don't want to end up in a loveless marriage. Ever since I was a child, I've only ever wished for my marriage to be like yours, full of love. You both adore each other."
As Kayla poured her heart out to her mother, a sense of liberation began to wash over her. For the first time, she had spoken her deepest fears and desires out loud, and it was like shedding the heavy armor she had worn for so long.
Her mother listened attentively, her eyes filled with maternal understanding. But there was a hint of sadness in her gaze, a shared sorrow for the pain her daughter had endured. Kayla's mother had always been a source of strength and wisdom, and now, in her embrace, Kayla felt a flicker of hope.
"Oh, my darling, you are right," her mother acknowledged, enfolding her in a warm embrace. "And you should not settle for anything less."
"But what if you're wrong, my love?" her mother questioned gently, her concern never wavering. "Sometimes, we misinterpret things, especially matters of the heart."
"I wish I could be wrong," Kayla replied with a sigh, her voice trembling with emotion. "I saw him with her. Countless times, but I was so blinded my crush for himm that I denied what was right infront of me." it was half truth that she wassharing with her mother. She has seeen kalix with his lover before but not inthis lifetime.
When she was naïve young girl in love with him, she was adamant that there was nothing between them. But deep down, I know the truth. I can feel it in my heart.
Her mother tightened her embrace, offering silent support and understanding. "You deserve a love that is pure and unconditional, just like your father and I have," she whispered softly.
Kayla nodded, her resolve firming with each passing moment. She wiped away her tears and looked into her mother's eyes with newfound determination. "I won't settle for anything less," she declared, her voice steadier now.
Her mother's smile was both proud and reassuring. "That's my girl," she said, planting a loving kiss on Kayla's forehead.
As they held each other, Kayla couldn't help but feel grateful for the strength her mother had given her.
Kayla's tears weren't solely for the loss of Kalix or the marriage that could have been. She wept for the profound losses she had endured in the past—the loss of her child, the loss of her love, and the loss of the life she had once known.
She had been stripped of so many things, and now that life had granted her a second chance, she was determined not to fall into the trap of a loveless marriage. She was resolved to make her own choices and find a path that would lead her to a future filled with genuine love and happiness.
