The birds chirped happily in the forest, the rivers waters calm and blue clashing softly on the depth of mountain, she enjoyed the paradise and always asked herself why the hell was the rest of the world so full of discriminative people.

She shoved the dark strands of hair off her face, it had grown a lot during the summer and always was a disturbance when she did her work as a house wife.

She uprooted another green herb plant from the ground brushing the dirt off it and keeping it safe in her cross bag. The thought that her daughter Tiran had been her pilot to go further to finding a cure.

She huffed out noticing her filled bag, "I hope this would be enough," she said with a foreign refined accent.

Just before she kicked to ignition she heard a piercing scream followed by a fully fledged explosion that called her attention to the mountain before the river.

The edge of the mountain had came crumbling to dust and tiny rocks plummeting down to the river.

She narrowed her eyes even more to see a larger object, a little girl, a child.

Without thought she immediately broke into a sprint headed for the river at full speed.

As she got closer she heard the crashing sound of things meeting water which made her panic and run faster.

"Fiona!" A females voice called out.

She turned her gaze back to the mountain to see a woman staring down at the river, probably the mother of the girl, she narrowed her eyes to see the frightened look on her face, and worry? For some reason she began to cry uncontrollably, swiftly she turned from the edge.

That was enigmatic but no time to be put to reasoning, the girl was still in the water.

She sped up dropping her bag as she came upon the mossy shore of the river. Not wasting any time she leapt high up diving into the water like a fish.

She searched thoroughly at the bottom with her sight trying desperately to find the girl. In took longer than expected as the rivers depth was really far off and more pressing, she began to run out of air.

She finally spotted it, the girl in the white clothing sinking down to the very bottom. She dived after her as fast as she could in high hopes she would reach the girl before she dies.

Boom!

It was almost silent in the water but clear enough to know it was another explosion, soon after were huge chunks of rocks immersing fully into the water and plummeting fast for them.

She tilted her head around to see the rocks falling faster than she swam, at this rate she might not reach the girl in time, but she just had to try.

She swam with all her might fighting against the water pressure and the thumping of her heart needing more air, the child had reached the very bottom and luckily she was just a few feet away now.

She reached the child wrapping her hands around her waist and picking her up from the river bed. Now time to go back up! She said within turning her gaze to the surface to see a huge rock bearing down on her, she braced herself for impact.

"Uhhhhhmmmm!" She cried out in pain as the rock hit her right hand down to the sea bed pinning her there and slowly crushing her right.

"Ahhhh!" The unconscious child also cried as her leg was also stuck under the rock and below the woman's hand.

The woman was out of breath, trapped alongside the child in the river bed.

She grunted trying to pull her hand but it didn't bulge. She could also feel the girl squirm and writh in pain struggling to pull her leg from under the rock. The sight of it pained her, a child being put through all of this was unfair, especially when this child was just about the same age as her daughter... No! She couldn't give up just yet! She needed to save the young girl no matter the cost.

The woman left the girl, stamped both feet into the river bed and pushed the rock with both hands"ahhhhhhhh!" She screamed her veins popping, her muscles rippling, she needed... To overcome.

She raised the rock a little easing her arm, she needed to put more effort. Her heart pounded on her chest harder as he gave her last burst of energy. "Dammmn!" She pushed the rock off of her arm and the child's leg.

Her survival instinct instantly kicked in, with her right which hurt like hell she grabbed the child's waist and weakly used her other arm to swim up.

She had barely any air left in her lungs and felt them slowly flooding with water, the surface of the water was dozen's of feet up, still far from her reach. 'It would be a miracle if the child was able to survive through this,' she thought her strides beginning to feel dragged and her head getting lighter by the moment.

Please! I just need to make it! She cried within herself her veiw becoming blurry. Just two more feet up! She screamed within herself, I need to make it!

She burst out of the water coughing out loads of water abruptly, she found it hard to breath and after felt like passing out but didn't, with both hands she raised the child's head to her chest region out of water, the child wasn't breathing.

The woman breathing was heavy and her heart palpitated at the thought of the child being dead. "No!" She screamed out open this time, she paddled her legs for shore as fast she could, it was hard and with the weight of the child sometimes she would feel like she was drowning in the river but stay focused, and finally she reached shore.

Immediately she rushed to the child's aid. The child was clearly not breathing, neither was her heart beating.

Calmly the woman raised a hand and pounded hard on the chest of the child "wake the hell up!" But nothing happened, clearly the child was one hair away from death, the scars on her soft smooth skin told she had been through a lot.

The woman knelt in front of the girl calmly stretching out both her hands palms wide open for the girls chest, "I will just have to borrow you life force," she whispered to herself, her hands emanating a blue glow.

Suddenly a nearby tree turned dry and deformed, it's leaf falling of and becoming brown loosing moisture and then another tree and the next an energy consuming and killing dozens of trees, the plants were also affected loosing their colour and withering away into dust.

"Wake up!" The woman slammed both her hands unto the child's chest with all her might screaming at the top of her voice.

The water pumped out of the child's mouth, nose and eyes. She instantly woke up crying incessantly.

The woman exhaled in relief falling back to her bottom, "talk to me," she commanded.

The girl cried, "I don't know! I!... I... Want... My mummy!" She ducked her head crying more incessantly.

The woman gave a provoked face "hey why are you crying? Who the heck is your mother?"

"I don't know!" She jerked her head back to stare desperately at the woman.

The woman turned her gaze back to the mountains peak bow reduced to a lot of rubbles, she couldn't leave the child alone and go up to find her mother and with the debris at the peak the odds of her surviving were slim, all she could do now was take care of her till her real mother maybe, show up.

The woman rose to her feet, she ran her hand through the child's hair roughening it, "I will be your substitute mother for now," she saw the hope in the eyes of the child and a little relief she could sense. The woman gave a hearty smile, "call me Miran!"

The child nodded slowly her tears stopping, "who am I?"

Miran gives a puzzled look recalling the name she heard the other woman call to her with. "You are Fiona my little flower."

The child stretched her hands to her eyes to brush of her tears, "mum," she said with a shaky voice.

Miran felt a spark in her heart to hear her say that, "let's go home Fiona."
