Eric's POV:
It's been a day since we got back home. Christine and Ren are crashing at Angie and Jade's place. The elevator got fixed, courtesy of their funding and some bizarre guidance. Who the hell drops so much cash just to pimp out an elevator?
As for me, I'm just wandering around with no real aim. I could use a break after that vacation. Surprisingly, I'm still rolling in dough. Did a bit of gambling and scored a few lottery wins, all thanks to my brilliant foresight.
Oh look, a police car hot on the tail of someone who, let's see...just robbed a grocery store. Hero time, right? Buuuut... not for me. I don't give a damn.
I'll just teleport all their brake oil into space and stroll away. Everything will be fine. Oh! My phone is ringing.
[Eric's hotline, feel free to get to the point] I said with a chuckle.
[Stop the car, you idiot] Isaac's voice rang through.
[And why would I care?] This has nothing to do with me.
[Because now there might be casualties because of you] he pressed on with an angry tone.
[Fine, but I'm not doing it for you!] I hang up.
POP
Now, as I stand on the street, their car approaches me.
*Snap*
With a single snap of my fingers, the car and the people inside vanished. Only the money and other things they stole remained.
I would keep it for myself, but I don't need it. I'll leave it on the ground since I don't really want to deal with cops.
POP.
"Hi, Philip."
"WWAAAAAAAHHH SHIIIT!" Philip shouted loudly in fear.
"No, it's me, Eric. How could you mistake me for such a thing, silly."
"Eric, what are you doing here?" he asked, panicking. It seems I interrupted something private. Judging from another tab visibly open on the bottom of the screen, most likely incognito, and of course, there are tissues next to him. The tissues are acceptable, but he's on a new tab, so he swiftly opened it to hide whatever he was hiding.
"I just had some free time at the moment and decided to pay a visit. But if it's not a good time, then I'll leave." I informed him.
"Um... it's fiiiine, just let me..." he stopped.
"Okay, I'll go. Just don't jack off to furries!" I shouted to him before teleporting.
POP.
"Angie, Jade, Christine, the cook, I'm home!" I called to the girls.
"Is that a level up for me or what?" Ren asked.
"Consider it a promotion." I replied to her. Going from criminal/mental patient to a cook is one hell of a change.
"Housewife would sound better." Ren's statement added pride to her tone.
"You're single, and it's not your house. It's not even a house. We do not own it entirely."
Uuggghhhh... what should I do? I'm bored as hell! And I can't do anything of the 'usual' since Ren and Christine are here. I could visit my other partner, but she might be busy at this hour, and I only visit her in the evening at best. Michelle's more assertive and energetic sister, Élise. Unlike Michelle, Élise has powers, and on top of that, they go nicely with her energetic personality, which far differs from her occupation. I'll visit her later, out of a kind need to say hi and another need...
"Eric, is the investigation progressing?" Jade asked me with curiosity about Cassandra's case.
"Well, a friend texted me a while ago that no new clues have been found. Dan is doing a great job."
"I see." Jade replied.
"You seem down, did something happen?" I mean, it's not like I want to know, but...
"Kind of. I was wondering, do you have any plans for the future?" Jade startled me with this weird question.
"Future?" I asked.
"You know, your relationship with everyone..." She said with her voice in unease.
Relationship, huh? That was bothering me too.
"I'll try to get things back to how they were before."
I shouldn't forcibly drag the two others into my unusual relationship with Angie and Jade.
"Whatever you decide, I don't mind. You're the only person who can make me feel anything. All of that invincible body comes with a price." Jade's mood was shifting as she caressed her arm to ease her mind.
"Don't worry about it too much. In fact, I wanted to-. . ."
"Why are you guys so down?!" Angie butted in to cheer us up. She definitely knew what we were talking about. "Why won't we do something about your problem or focus on something else?" She insisted.
A different topic wasn't a bad idea.
"Actually, I've been thinking about something recently. I really want to focus on how to find Isaac or other absolutes, but if I get a plan to get him, he'll instantly know and try to avoid the confrontation." That's why it's a pain in the ass.
"How many absolutes are there again?" Angie asked for a reminder.
"There's me with three powers at once, Philip with the soul, Isaac with knowledge, and I think three more which we don't know about. Though I'm pretty sure Isaac won't tell me." My answer provided a clearer understanding of where we stand.
"And why won't he tell you?" Jade asked.
"Most likely he knows something I shouldn't know, or he doesn't want me to know. Anyway, sooner or later, I'll still find him."
phone ringing
"Pick it up, Angie." Jade insisted after seeing an unknown number on her phone.
[Give me that asshole, I mean Eric, because I know what you wanna answer, you dirty-minded woman] Isaac's voice rang through.
[You're better off not knowing anything.] He said as I took the phone. A sudden thought struck me, and I had to work fast.
[Hang up] I said to him mischievously.
[Oh shit!] He shouted.
STOP
Now, I've got plenty of time to find him. First of all, he moved his phone from his head, so the screen should be on again, and on the screen will be Angie's number. The background sound was water, most likely the sea, and music from a theme park. So, I'm looking for a guy who's holding his phone next to the theme park by the sea or ocean.
Now, I've gotta teleport around the world through all the theme parks by the ocean to find him. With unlimited time... easy peasy.
. . . . .
"Well, well, well. Thought you'd be taller."
"Fuck, so you got me." Isaac said.
"I have, though not entirely. Seems you're the only person I can't mind-read." That's a new thing to me, as if he's an object when I compare him to everyone else.
"I'm not an object." he answered my thoughts.
"So you can read my mind?" I asked, surprised.
"No, dumbass, I just know your thoughts." The insult hit me again.
"Anyway, I'm taking you."
POP.
"Guess who's back!" I shouted aloud.
"Is that..." Jade hesitated.
"My name is Isaac, the wielder of absolute knowledge."
Nice introduction. I must tell Philip to come later, once he's done with his business.
"Oh, I'm Ja-"
"No need for that, I already know everything about you all." Isaac chimed in.
"You have this mysterious look in your eyes, like Eric and Philip." Angie stared into Isaac's eyes.
I didn't really pay much attention, but if she says so. Other than that, he's got dark hair, a shaved face, and dark grey eyes with some greenish shade to them.
"So, Isaac, why won't you loosen up a bit and tell me where the other absolutes are?" I couldn't hold my curiosity.
"I'll tell you, but not now. Now's not the time for you to learn about them." his voice seemed stressed. It is only fair since he's the weakest in the room right now.
"I may be the weakest, but I can outsmart you anytime." That asshole. You think that you're better than me?
"I never said that I'm better than you, but my confidence seems to go on par with yours." he said.
"I'll take it as a compliment." I replied with an annoyed voice.
