Chapter 1 - Mystery Knight

When my father was arrested, I was still playing with my husky Poppy.

My sister, Sasha, came stumbling to me, white mist blowing out of her mouth, covering her beautiful girly face.

"Oscar! Father was captured by a group of soldiers! Run!"

I don't know if she told me to run home or stay away.

I called Poppy and instinctively ran to the forge.

There stood a dark crowd of people. To be precise, a group of armored cavalry sitting majestically on horseback.

Miller Grannika, my father, the blacksmith of whom Crawford was so proud, was almost half-naked as at work, except that his calloused hands were bound by heavy chains.

His unyielding eyes scanned the leading soldiers until a knight thrust a spear into his eyelashes.

"It's the Queen's men, Sasha. Go and find Ariel. We need more help."

I whispered to my sister, pushed forward through the crowd of onlookers, and heard the man holding my father.

"Hand it over!"

"I don't understand."

"You pariah! You have stolen from Her Majesty! '

The officer was a big man with a hawk-like nose and cold eyes.

With great anxiety and anger, I tried to defend my father, but a man held me back.

Uncle Parker was an old friend of my father, and they used to drink several cups every night.

He was always wobbly and stood majestically now. He shook his head at me and looked serious.

People who have lived on this continent for generations know that — the authority of the Queen is inviolable, the dignity of the Queen is inviolable, and the strength of the Queen is unmatched.

Soon, at 16, I saw this strength for the first time in my life.

It is also this power of word-of-mouth that no one around dares to speak.

Seeing my father fight, the leading knight has lost patience quickly.

He suddenly seemed to be transformed into an evil spirit, his black-cloaked body swelling several times, stirring the snow in the air as if frozen in time.

Dozens of onlookers gasped and pushed each other back, and some babies and children cried loudly.

In the confusion, a few of the attendants who had seized my father also made room for their leaders.

The knight, who was unbelievably tall, fell straight from his horse and stepped up to my father with a step of unprecedented authority.

The great Mille Grannika, widowed at an early age and the father of two children, was unfazed.

Even the knight wielding his epee shattered the iron stove with which he had lived, burying it in the snowy ruins.

He didn't even blink.

"I'm not just a boiler, Sir. You see, my children won't have hot flapjacks tonight."

"Last time I repeat, hand it over."

The mysterious, cold-blooded knight pointed the tip of his gun at my father's throat.

My heart was still trembling, but I shouted "No" and rushed out of the crowd.

I threw myself in front of the masked knight and looked into his terrible eyes.

'Please don't hurt my father.'

"Oscar, go away! It's none of your business."

My father roared when he saw me break out.

"Give me what I want, Mille Grannika, for the life of your child."

The knight turned the point of his spear towards me.

"Leave him alone, he knows nothing!" My father's voice trembled. "I'm just a countryman, I..."

The knight's spear spun, aggressively, and suddenly zoomed in, blurring my pupils.

All I felt was a flash of darkness in front of my eyes, glimpses of life, and these images were immediately shattered by the flickering fire.

As the crowd gasped, a giant dog... No, a huge Wolf stood in front of me, heaving and panting, bared his fangs, confronting the knight.

"Wave... Bobby?"

"Silly, forget your little husky baby, he's peeing his pants on the side."

This sound? Oh, No way! It was my buddy Ariel.

What the hell is going on here?

I looked at my father and there was no surprise in his expression.
