"Thalia, calm down-"
I tried placating the irritated girl in front of me, but in hindsight, telling her to calm down maybe wasn't the best course of action.
"What do you mean calm down?!"
She shouted, grabbing my collar and pulling me towards her.
"Luke has a scar on his face! He has shut off from us and you're telling me to calm down?!"
emotional kids, seriously...
I sighed as she glared at me and raised my eyebrow at her.
"What did you expect me to do about it?"
She narrowed her eyes.
"Get him out of the trouble without him being maimed!"
My eyebrow twitched. What was I, the human shield? He already had the scar when I teleported there, what could I have done?
"And how did you expect me to do that?"
She growled at me. No really, she growled, her grip tightening on my collar.
"I don't know! Do the same thing you did with the campers! Reverse time or something! You did it once! Why not now!?"
My irritation grew. She wanted me to reverse time for something as menial as this? It was just a damned scar, Luke would live. I didn't need to throw away a portion of my lifespan over this.
"Because what he did that day came at a cost."
I looked over to where the new voice came from, spotting Chiron in his wheelchair, where he used to stay inside houses without his horse, half of the body taking up too much space.
Thalia looked over as well, narrowing her eyes at the old man.
"And you! Why did you let him go on the Quest? We're both new to the camp! Inexperienced! What did you think was going to happen?!"
Damn, she was going off on anyone in the vicinity, wasn't she?
It was not like I could blame her, but the irritation was still there.
"I had no choice, Thalia."
Chiron sighed, rolling into the room. His shoulders were slumped, he looked pitiful, honestly.
"Gods gave him a quest, and he accepted, there was little I could do."
Hey, hey hey, do you want her to turn against the gods the first chance she gets? I'm blaming you if there is a mass rebellion against the gods sometime soon.
Who let you near kids? Oh right, that was me.
"It was Hermes..."
I sighed, grabbing her wrist and getting her to let go of my collar. She winced and I let go of her hand. I was holding it a little too tight, too, I needed to calm down.
"It's not like we can control what happens on a quest, Thalia, I gave him a failsafe..."
I walked over to the desk and pulled out a chair, sitting down and grabbing one of the cups that were permanently there. With a thought, it was filled with juice.
I took in a breath of irritation and overrode the restriction, replacing the juice with wine and taking a sip.
"You two are progressing fast, but you're still new, not as good as you think you are."
She glared at me, her hostility still not dying down.
"What's that supposed to mean?"
I deadpanned at her, wordlessly saying that she, in essence, sucked ass.
She just glared harder.
"One of the better combatants in the camp would skewer you before you could even grip your spear, Thalia."
I informed her, being as blunt as possible. This wasn't really news for anyone in the camp, but for her, it was like telling her the sky was green and Poseidon was gay for her father...
Let's not get into that...
"You came here a few months ago, we have been training even before you knew you were a demigod."
I shrugged, taking another sip.
"Awfully blunt, aren't you, Leonidas..."
Chiron rolled over to the table, taking one of the other cups.
"No~, me? I would never..."
I deadpanned, shaking my head.
"It's not my job to spare feelings here. Luke was too inexperienced and too blinded by grandeur, he learned a hard lesson, he could have declined, but he didn't."
I grunted, putting the cup down, and looking back over to Thalia.
"Get back to training, Thalia, the session is about to start soon."
She looked at me for a moment, before she turned around and left with a huff, looking like a petulant child as she did.
I hummed and grabbed the cup again, taking another sip.
"You didn't need to be so hard on her, Leonidas."
I raised an inquisitive eyebrow.
"What do you mean?"
Chiron chuckled, taking another sip from his cup and putting it down.
"She's still young-"
I interrupted her.
"I'm twelve, you fossil."
He paused, looked at me for a moment, and nodded.
"Well... true... but also Rude... No dessert for a week."
He just grounded me... I swear to everything that is holy I will make him sleep in the stables
