Chapter 14 - 14

Beth sneered when she saw Odette leave. "You definitely can't explain it clearly!" She knew that Odette did not dare not to listen to her. After leaving the coffee shop, Beth took out her phone and called her father. "Dad, Odette already agreed to tell Grandfather that it's all her fault what happened to the mansion."

"Really?" Stephen was a little surprised. Although Odette had been bullied by them, she was very stubborn. He thought it would take some effort to get her to agree. "Dad, it's true. Don't worry. The hospital matter can used as a bargaining chip. We don't need to be afraid that she won't listen to us."

When their Grandfather was back in the city, she just had to put all the blame on Odette, say that she provoked everyone in the mansion, and even tell Eric to blow up the gate. They wouldn't have to take any responsibility for this matter. "Okay," Stephen was happy with the result. Odette weakness is her mother. It seemed that the money he paid to save her mother's life was not a loss. "You should be careful. Don't push her too hard."

"Dad you don't need to worry. She won't dare to resist us." Beth was not worried about this at all. "We still have to be careful. Your grandfather will be back soon. We can't make any mistakes when he is back." As long as the head of the family retired, the entire Lawson family will be taking over to Stephen. He couldn't hide his excitement when he thought of this. "There will be an auction tonight. Remember to look for Joey and let the reporters know that you went there with the Oldest son of the Smith family."

The marriage between the Lawson family and the Smith family had been decided long ago. Although there was a marriage between Eric and Odette, Odette was still a child who had been kicked out of the family, Eric was a cripple for the rest of his life, and many many people not cared about him. The thing that can help the Lawson family is the marriage of Beth and Joey. No matter what, this matter had to happen so that the Lawson family could obtain greater benefits.

"Don't worry, dad. Joey had already invited me to the charity auction tonight." Beth said. The only thing that Beth could brag about right now was that could be with Joey openly. Many people were jealous of her because of this. Odette did not return to the mansion. She walked along the road for a long distance. Finally, she was tired and took a taxi to go to the hospital.

She gives the bank card to the director. Only then did she feel more at ease. It was like a rope that had been in her neck for a long time and finally broke free from it. She breathed in fresh air and felt much more relaxed.

"Odette. The Lawson family has already paid your mother's medical fees for your mother. And there is a lot of balance left. You don't have to pay in a hurry." The director has known Odette for a long time. The director looked at her swollen eyes and sighed, "Did they bully you again?" He watched Odette grow step by step. She was a girl in her prime. She should have a a beautiful youth, but was almost crushed by her mother's illness countless times.

"Director, I'm fine." Odette shook her head and insisted on giving the bank card to the director, "If they threaten me again that they will cut my mother's medical fees, you will use this bank card to pay for it." After hearing her words, the Director understood. The Lawson family threatened her again and she cried so hard. Instead of living her life in fear, she might as well not accept the charity from that family.

"Alright, I'll accept this. Don't worry too much. It's good that you don't rely on that family of yours. At least you and your mother won't have to swallow anything from them anymore." The director said.

"Director thank you. Please take care of my mother. Please let me know anything about her status, I will be going home now." After saying that, Odette turned back and left. This time, she didn't even take a look at the ward. Because she knew that if she saw her mother at this time, she would not be able to hold back the tears anymore. She did not want to cry in front of her mother.

The director sighed and left. Odette walked forward with a dull look. She did not take a taxi. She also did not know how long it would take her to walk back like this. In any case, she could not help but want to cry. Unknowingly, it was already dark and a gust of cold wind blew over. Odette finally reacted. The surroundings were all unfamiliar and she did not know where she had walked to.

At 8 p.m., Eric had already returned home. Odette hurriedly wanted to take a taxi back home. At this time Eric's car just passed by. Billy looked at the person in front of them. "Young master, it seems that young lady is the young madam." Eric looked at where Billy pointed the direction. It was indeed Odette standing there, trembling. "Sir, are we going to pick up the young madam?" Billy asked. "Stop the car!" Eric's voice was cold.

'Why is she here?' Billy stopped the car and walked out of the car. "Madam, why are you here so late? Why don't you go home?" When Odette sees Billy, she is slightly stunned. She did not expect to meet Billy here. "Is Eric in the car?" Odette's voice was a little worried, but she didn't say why she was there. She didn't want more people to know about the things she could solve, even if this was her husband. Billy suddenly felt that something was wrong with their young madam, but he didn't ask more. "Young master is inside. You can get in the car and I will send you and young master home."

He opened the car door for Odette. Odette saw Eric sitting inside the car, and her eyes instantly turned red. "Are you cold?" Hurry up and get inside." Eric stretched out his hand. His tone was extremely gentle and his words also carried a bit of heartache.

Odette wiped away the tears from the corner of her eyes and placed her hand on Eric's hand. Just by touching her hand of Odette, Eric felt the cold wind for a long time. Eric frowned and said, "Billy, turn on the heater." As he spoke he also placed Odette's hand on his palm and rubbed it gently. After Eric did this, Odette could no longer hold back the sad feeling that she feeling at that moment. She leaned on Eric's shoulder and cried.
