"Ahhhh!" Gakki screamed, sitting up with a jolt.
He looked around and didn't know where he was. He was in an open white room with padded walls. It had instruments, a bed, and a dojo matt. Gakki tried to remember how he got here but was drawing blanks. Gakki then noticed his hands. They were too big and plastic-looking, and the light shone off them. He was starting to freak out.
"What is happening?" Gakki asked no one.
Instead of a robotic voice, it was his voice. But he had his mouth closed, so he was confused about how he was talking. He started to feel his neck with his plastic hand. Instead of his collar, what felt like a speaker fused with his neck. Gakki was freaking out now.
"What was the last thing I remember?" Gakki said, panicking. "It was my mom." He finished, less panicked and more sad.
Gakki was feeling mixed feelings. He was confused by the situation, angry and sad that his mom had left him, and anxious about this new place.
Gakki decided to ignore his feelings for now and tried to get up. He stumbled a little, but in the end, he got up. The only problem was he was tall like he was almost All Might tall. He saw that both of his arms were also elongated. Gakki looked down and saw he was in long sweatpants with no shirt. He could see that he was also toned and plastic there, not muscularly like a bodybuilder, but like he cared for himself.
Gakki started to walk around on wobbly legs, not used to the height-to-floor proportion. He saw that there was a door, so he went to it and opened it up. It was a bathroom with a toilet, bathtub, and a sink. But there was no mirror, so he didn't know what he looked like.
Gakki turned around to check something else until he felt something soft and silky brush his neck. He jumped and turned around to see what touched him. He saw nothing but felt it again. He repeated this process several times before catching a glimpse of white hair. He paused and touched his neck and felt hair. He followed it down to the middle of his back, softly grabbed some, and looked at it.
It was snow white, straight and long. Gakki just shrugged and turned around. It was the least weird thing to be happening to him. He saw the stairs and walked to it, hopeful that it would lead the way out.
He ascended the stairs two at a time due to his height. At the top, he saw a metal door and tried the handle, but it was locked. Gakki's heart sank at what this meant. He tried again harder in a panic. He even started shoulder-checking the door but to no avail. After a few minutes, he gave up. Gakki sat on the stairs, ran a hand over his face, and felt something wet. He pulled back and saw purple galaxy liquid slowly moving before fading away.
Gakki needed clarification. He didn't feel like he was crying. He followed a trail from his cheek to his eye, and it was a constant flow of tears, not stopping. Gakki just sighed and put that information into a bucket with all the other weird things happening.
Gakki wished there was a clock to tell how long he had been here. He got bored, so he got up and went to a small harp, around three feet tall, that was on the floor. He picked it up and went to sit on a stool that was next to it. Gakki took a deep breath and started playing. It was beautiful and tranquil, but he didn't remember learning how to play it. He played a song that the back of his brain was saying he made. He sat there, letting his fingers play with muscle memory. He was lost in the music, not knowing how long had passed.
Once Gakki finished, he put the harp down, satisfied, and went to a drum set. He picked up the sticks and twirled them in his hands. He started banging away, playing another song, muscle memory taking over. He did this with all the instruments, including a violin, piano, Guitar, cymbals, triangle, lomuty, flute, tuba, saxophone, and harmonica. He played all of them with ease like he's been playing them for years.
Gakki got so lost in the music that he didn't notice he had an audience until he heard enthusiastic clapping from behind him. He jumped out of his skin and instantly tried to hide behind the electric piano. The man laughed at his antics. What Gakki saw was a slim man smiling at him. He was around six feet. He had long blond hair stuck straight up and a small brown mustache. He wore sunglasses, a black jacket with a very tall collar, upturned and complete with studs, and matching black pants and knee-high boots. He sports tan shoulder pads, a red belt, elbow pads, all studded, and black fingerless gloves. He had a speaker system around his neck. Gakki didn't know why.
Gakki could tell he was a hero but didn't recognize him. They stared at each other before the man spoke up.
"Hey, listener, You sounded good, but do you know your house just blew up?" The man practically yelled.
If Gakki's eyes could, they would have bulged out from what he had just said.
"That isn't good, but it's not my house. I just woke up." Gakki said shyly.
The man's poster changed, and he asked in an average volume. "How old are you? You sound young."
"I'm six. Well, I think I am." Gakki answered shyly.
It was this man's turn for his eyes to bug out. It took him A couple of seconds to compose himself before he continued.
"Well, little listener, do you know whose house just blew up?" The man asked.
Gakki shook his head before replying. "No, I don't know where I am or how I got here."
The man looked concerned before putting his hand out and asking. "My name is Present Mic. Do you want to leave here?"
"Can I take the instruments? I like them a lot." Gakki asked, full of hope and innocence.
This got a chuck of Present Mic before he replied. "You can take one right now, and we can get the rest later. Does that sound good, little listener?"
This made Gakki give him a big smile before nodding vigorously. He grabbed the harp and Mic's hand with his other. Mic leads Gakki towards the stairs and up them. Gakki could see that the metal door was busted down, and light was seeping through. Once they reached the top, Gakki could see what was past the doorway. It was a ruined house. There was debris everywhere.
'Mic wasn't lying about the house exploding.' Gakki thought, looking around. Mic was still leading him through the destroyed house before an elderly female voice stopped them.
"Present Mic. Did you fin-" She was saying before stopping mid-sentence.
A short, older woman stared at them in confusion. She has gray hair styled into a netted bun, a large syringe poking diagonally out of it to the left. She wore a doctor's lab coat and a dress with yellow and red vest-like designs on either side, two yellow buttons, and a belt with a pink "R"-shaped buckle. She wears pink boots and has a helmet around the sides of her head, a purple-tinted visor joining it over her eyes. She was using a giant syringe as a walking stick.
Gakki hid behind Present Mic, his head poking out behind his shoulder. Mic just rubbed his head and replied. "Yep, I found this little listener in the basement. He says he woke up there and doesn't know how he ended up there."
She just hummed before asking. "And this man doesn't know why this happened?"
Mic shook his head before adding sheepishly. "And this man says he's six years old."
Gakki puffed his cheeks in annoyance before replying. "I am six!"
The lady paused since I did sound like a six-year-old voice. But also the fact that it was coming out of a speaker that was part of his neck.
"What's your name, Sonny?" The older lady asked.
Present Mic slapped his face since he forgot to ask the kid/man's name.
"My name is Ginga Gakki," Gakki proclaimed.
"And do you know where your parents are, Ginga?" She continued
Gakki's mood dropped. "I don't have a dad, and the last thing I remember of my mom was her say she never wanted to see me again and that she hated me," Gakki answered, the tears flowing like a raging river down his face.
The two adults frown, Mic touching his shoulder. He looked at the short lady before asking.
"What should we do with the little listener?"
She hummed in thought before answering. "Well, Ginga needs a health check, and you must report this to Nezu. He will want to know about this." She replied.
Mic shivered at the thought of Nezu before he nodded, grabbed Gakki's hand, and started to lead him toward U.A.
U.A. was only a five-minute walk from the house. The short lady named Recovery Girl and Gakki was amazed about her quirk, Heal. It was such a cool quirk, in Gakki's opinion. And Presents Mic's quirk was also extraordinary. It was called voice, and it allowed him to amplify his voice, which made Gakki excited to see a fellow voice quirk.
They reached the U.A., and Gakki was even more excited. Gakki wasn't told that they were going to U.A.
"U.A.! Why didn't you tell me?" Gakki poted.
Mic chuckled before saying. "Well, I didn't think of mentioning it."
RP just sighed before leading them into the U.A. They walked down the hallways, seeing students walking by. Gakki felt shy and nervous because he still didn't have a shirt. He felt people staring at him because he didn't have a sweater and was as tall as All Might. They continued down the hallway until a nurse's office came into view.
"This is where we depart, little listener. I have to head to Nezu's office to give him a report." Mic said before walking away.
Gakki just nodded and followed RP into the nurse's office. Gakki sat down on a chair and waited for her to start. She sat down in front of a computer and started typing away. She suddenly stopped and frowned before she turned and gave Gakki a stern look, which made Gakki nervous.
"Are you sure your name is Ginga Gakki?" Recovery Girl asked in a don't lie to me tone.
Gakki was now confused and responded. "Yes, why?"
RP turned the computer and showed the screen to Gakki. "Well, it says that a Gakki Ginga doesn't exist." She said, pointing at the screen
Gakki was more confused and scared at what this meant.
"But, I do exist. My name is Ginga Gakki! If I'm not, then who am I?" Gakki cried. Starting to hyperventilate
RP got up and patted Gakki's leg in comfort. "Hey, hey, calm down, Ginga. I believe you. I'm just telling you what the database says."
Gakki's breathing slowed down until he was calmer. He looked down at RP, and she gave him a gentle smile.
"It's okay, we will figure this out, okay?" RP said, still patting his leg.
Gakki nodded and waited for what was going to happen next.
Present Mic stood in front of Nezu's office. He always gets nervous when he has to go here. As soon as he went to knock on the wooden door, it opened, and he heard a "Come in, I have some tea ready" from inside the office. Mic just sighed and walked in.
It was a decorated office filled with bookshelves on both sides. A big window with a view of the front gates was in the back of the office. In the middle of the room were two comfy-looking armchairs and a big desk. There sat the principle of U.A. He is a mix of a dog, mouse, and bear, with a scar running down his right eye. He wore a white dress shirt, a red tie, a black double-breasted waistcoat, and matching dress pants. His name is Nezu.
Nezu poured tea into two cups and waited for Present Mic to sit. Mic sat down, took a cup of tea, and sipped from it.
"So, you went to see what that explosion was, and when you returned, you brought a tall man with no shirt. That must be an intrusting story." Nezu asked curiosity in his voice.
Mic rubbed the back of his head sheepishly before explaining. "Well, when I got to where the explosion came from. It was a house in shambles, but there was a bunker and a metal door still intact. I heard music coming from inside, so I busted the door down with my quirk and went inside. When I got down there, I saw him playing different instruments one at a time. He was a master at every one of them, and I got lost in his music."
"Hm, that is very interesting. But why did you bring him here?" Nezu pressed
"Ah, yes, well, his name is Gakki Ginga, and he says he is six years old and doesn't remember how he ended up in that bunker."
Nezu took a sip of his tea, deep in thought. He then piped up.
"Well, that would make sense to bring him here. If the police had found him first, they wouldn't have believed him. I would like to have a chat with him once Chiyo is done with his check-up."
The doors opened when Nezu finished, and a scraped-looking man wearing black and grey walked in.
"Why did you wake me up, Nezu?" His voice sounded tired and done with the world.
"Well, Aizawa, we have a guest, and I wanted you to meet him," Nezu said simply.
Aizawa just sighed and sat down next to Mic, who gave him a toothy grin. Aizawa turned to him and asked, "Let me guess, you've already met this guest?"
Mic gave a thumbs up and said, "I'm the one that found him at the explosion." Sumgness in his voice. "But, he didn't cause the explosion if you were wondering." Mic quickly added.
"Anyways, please continue your report, Hizashi," Nezu cut in before Aizawa could retort.
"Ah, yes, so when he finished his excellent one-person consort, I started clapping, making him jump and try to hide behind a piano. That's when he told me he was six years old and didn't know how he ended up in the basement." Mic finished taking another sip of his tea.
"So you believed him?" Nezu asked, not distrusting Present Mic's opinion, just wanting to understand his thinking process.
"At first, I was skeptical, but when I heard him talk and the way he was acting made me at least think he wasn't being malicious."
"So, let me get this straight. You let a random stranger who claims to be a six-year-old into the U.A.? Where is he?" Aizawa asked, confused and angry that he had to be here instead of napping.
"Gakki is with RP right now, but they should be here any minute now," Nezu added.
They waited for the door to open since Nezu could almost always predict when someone would be walking in. But no one stepped in, including Nezu, so he pulled up the security feed of the nurse's office. Nezu's eyes widened comically, and both pro heroes were concerned about what he was looking at. Nezu just turned the computer to show them what they saw immensely concerned them.
The nurse's office was a mess with paper scattered on the floor, with Gakki cowering in a corner with a chair in front of him. Recovery Girl was fuming, stomping around, yelling about "If I get my hands on them." and "I can't believe someone would do something this diabolical."
Nezu pressed a button and cleared his throat. "Chiyo, what's the matter." He asked, curious and scared at what could get the usually calm and collected hero so worked up.
RP turned to the camera and made herself calm down before replying. "I will bring the paperwork and talk to you about it when I get to your office." Chiyo's words were filled with venom, not towards Nezu, but still made him uneasy.
Chiyo started to pick up the papers off the floor and calm down Gakki, who was shaking in the corner. They then left the nurse's office and out of view of the camera. The heroes in Nezu's office were worried about what made Chiyo so mad and hoped they would get hit by her cane.
They waited a minute before the doors slammed open, and Chiyo and Gakki walked into Nezu's office. Chiyo was still fuming but was holding it in so that Gakki didn't get scared again. Gakki was still shacking and sniffling from seeing Chiyo so worked up. Mic got up and gestured for Gakki to sit, and he gladly took the seat. Gakki's eyes landed on Nezu, and he instantly perked up.
"Am I a mouse, a dog, a bear? I am the principle of U.A.!" Nezu proclaimed, which made Gakki give him a big smile.
"Wow, you look so cute!" Gakki proclaimed back, holding himself back from petting the principal. It seemed rude.
Nezu and Aizawa noticed that he was talking from his neck, not his mouth, which made them weary that he could be pretending. But Nezu continued like he wasn't suspicious.
"My name is Nezu, and I was hoping your time here has been pleasant so far," Nezu said in a cheerful tone.
"It's been fine, a little scary when Recovery Girl got mad, but otherwise, it's been good," Gakki answered.
Before Nezu could continue, Chiyo slammed papers on his desk. "Read these. You will understand why I am so mad." She said simply
Nezu complied and started reading. The more he read, the more the hairs on his body stood up in anger. The two heroes grew anxious about this; who only saw him like this a handful of times. Once he finished reading, Mic asked. "So, what has both of you guys so angry?"
"Well, from what these reports say, there are at least seven different DNA signatures in Gakki, not including his own. This would suggest that someone fused a six-year-old with seven different people or at least seven different body parts of them." Nezu finished calmly, but the adults knew that he was pissed. He would not stop his war path until he found out who did this to Gakki. Because when it comes to human or animal testing, Nezu didn't hold back his sadistic side.
