Chapter 96 - The Two Wheeled Thunderers

"Ahh!"

Maya who was still reeling in from the shock of being attacked yelped as Aiden pulled her up, the scent of his cologne washing through her nostrils.

She felt a jolt through her system as his ruthless grip caressed her skin, like the hold of a mantis latching onto its prey, his mandibles digging into her.

Seeing Maya's state, Aiden's voice sounded out, "You're so jumpy, breathe, Maya."

"Bam!"

"Bam!"

Simultaneously, the sound of multiple thuds filled Maya's ears as the rest of the bikers rushed up to Aiden, the intent of their movement clear.

Aiden didn't panic, instead, he narrowed his eyes taking a second to observe his attackers. Their jackets black and light absorbent seemed to be a layer to something else, their helmets blocked their expressions but Aiden could make out the intent to kill from within.

It only took a second for Aiden to finish observing them, and by now the bikers were so close that their smell laughed at him with the wind's aid, a mix of leather and sweat.

Noting this, Aiden didn't wait, and with superhuman speed dashed into the nearest alleyway with Maya in his embrace.

"Eight Enemies on your six, how fun," Landon's voice sounded out in Aiden's head. Looking ahead Aiden noticed shadows of trashcans against the sleek concrete walls providing an explanation for the unpleasant orders that washed through his nostrils.

Graffiti adorned most surfaces, a chaotic tapestry of colors and shapes, each telling a different story.

Discarded trash littered the ground, the occasional glint of glass or metal catching the dim light.

"Crunch!"

"Tap, Tap, Tap, Tap!"

The sound of rapid footsteps could be heard as Aiden rushed forward, moving deeper into this maze-like alley.

"Whoosh!"

Behind him, the unknown bikers, rushed after him, their steps steady and determined.

Meanwhile, Maya was having a heart attack in Aiden's embrace, her chest heaving as she muttered to herself. "They're Contractors, I've somehow gotten in the middle of a scuffle between Contractors, I'm gonna die, I'm gonna die, I'm gonna die, I'm gonna die, I'm gonna di-"

"What are you rambling on about?" Aiden's voice suddenly sounded out as he slowed down, his lips curled up in amusement.

Feeling Aiden's deceleration, Maya tightened her grip on his shirt as she yelled at him. "What are you doing? Get me out of here?"

Aiden on the other hand didn't respond, instead, his eyes narrowed at the emergency fire exit before him, with metal steps and rails painted in rusted black, this exit led to a door at the top of the building.

"Bam, Bam, Bam, Bam!"

Thuds could be heard as the bikers followed behind Aiden, upon seeing him slow down a bit, the one with the watch scoffed. "Getting exhausted already? Guess he's not as tough as they sa... Huh!"

The biker was forced to bite his tongue as he watched Aiden grab the rail of an emergency fire exit while looking over his shoulder, with a forceful pull he launched himself up the metal steps like some kind of monkey.

"Ahhhhhh!"

"Clang, Clang!"

Maya's screams echoed in the quiet alley as Aiden continued to ascend with effortless grace, each clang of his shoes against the cold steel resonating through the silent night.

Maya stirred, her head resting against his chest as she clung to him. "I'm gonna die, I'm gonna die, I'm gonna die." She shouted, her grip on Aiden's coat so strong that it seemed as though she wanted to remove his clothes.

With each step, the cityscape unfurled around them, the neon lights of the skyline painting a vivid backdrop to their silent ascent.

The distant wail of sirens echoed in the distance, a reminder of the danger lurking in the city, but that was none of their concern at the moment.

"Clang!"

"Clang!"

"Clang!"

The eight bikers were still on their tail, their boots making clanging sounds against the cold metal steps.

Aiden on the other hand, had reached the top of this emergency exit, with a flick of his wrist he twisted the door handle that embodied their glorious exist.

"Chi, Chi!"

Locked, the door refused to open, it was locked, seeing this, Maya whimpered slightly as the metal clanging that marked the arrival of their pursuers grew louder.

Aiden on the other hand had a blank expression on his face, and in that moment he did something crazy.

"Whoosh!"

The sound of his coat flowing in the wind tickled Maya's ears as he leaped back, normally, this wouldn't be a problem, but Aiden was at the top of the emergency steps.

"Clang!"

"Ahhhhhh, don't drop me, don't fucking drop me," Mai's voice rushed out amid hurried breaths, Aiden didn't know if it was the adrenaline, but her grip was so strong that he could feel it on his skin.

One couldn't blame Maya though, at this moment, Aiden stood tall atop the rail of the metal stairs, there was nothing behind him but a 134-foot drop.

Hearing Maya's voice, Aiden's smile widened as he asked. "You think I'll let you go just like that?"

His question was left unanswered as the bikers arrived, their steps slowing down as they noticed Aiden's situation, he was stuck.

"Haha, a dead end," one of the bikers laughed as he observed Aiden who stood there like some kind of hero, his coat flowing with the wind.

"Bam!"

"Sizzle!"

The leading biker who seemed to be the one with a watch, slammed his fists together creating a small electrical ripple that sent goosebumps down one's spine.

Now that the man was close, Aiden noticed that his figure was quite small compared to the other bikers behind him, and finally, for the first time that night, he spoke to his pursuers. "What do I call you guys?"

His question was met with silence, prompting Maya who was in his embrace to think. "If you want to beg, could you at least lower the superiority in your fucking tone."

Maya's thoughts didn't prepare her for what was to happen next, upon receiving no answer from the masked bikers who slowly closed in, Aiden spoke. "If you don't have a name why don't I give you guys one? Hmm, how about The Two Wheeled Thunderers?"

"Ohh God," Maya felt her head spin, "we're dead!"

In response to Aiden's mocking tone, the biker who was now within arms reach of him, laughed, "You think you're funny huh?"

His light tone of voice made Aiden raise a brow. "I know that voice, it's can't be-"

"Whoosh!"

"Zzzzz!"

The lead Biker swung his electrically charged fist in Aiden's direction, but just as he was about to hit him.

[Calm!]

Aiden's voice sounded out like a call from the abyss, and in that moment, the unknown Biker felt something, like a jolt from his soul.

"Clang!"

"Clang!"

Hard metal thuds could be heard as all eight bikers lost control of their bodies, some staggering backward.

"Whoosh!"

"Thud!"

A sound could be heard as some fell from the top of the steps, hitting the ground with heavy thuds.

The man with electrical powers wasn't one of the unlucky ones, so Aiden as the gentleman that he was did him a favor.

"Bang!"

He suddenly jumped down from the rails, his shoes creating a clang as they kissed the cold hard metal of the stairs, quickly, he spartan kicked the confused lead biker in the chest so forcefully that it sent a ripple through his jacket.

The Biker was thrown off the emergency steps all altogether, his form like trash discarded down a 134-foot drop.

"Thud!"

Another thud could be heard, as the Biker hit the ground sending waves of dust in all directions.

With that done, Aiden nodded his head and jumped off the stairs as well.

"Whoosh!"

The sound of his coat waving in the wind could be heard as Aiden leaped.

He felt the wind against his face mixed with the smell of trash as he decelerated.

"Clang!"

A sound filled his ears as he suddenly caught hold of the rails, forcefully halting his fall In a twisted position, with a pause, he let go again.

"Bam!"

A thud followed suit as Aiden landed on the ground his knees buckling slightly to absorb impact.

"Argh!"

He suddenly groaned as he looked at his right arm, which looked slightly twisted for some reason.

As a result of forcefully halting his fall in an unfavorable position, Aiden had dislocated his arm and even tore some of his internal muscles.

Fortunately, his soul energy had already gotten to work healing his wounds quickly.

He could have just continued his jump without halting, but doing so would definitely hurt Maya who was in his embrace.

As his wounds healed, Aiden glanced at Maya and noticed that her glasses were nowhere to be found, but something else made him raise a brow.

Maya's eyes were closed, her expression relaxed as her chest heaved, she seemed to be unconscious.

As if sensing Aiden's confusion Landon's voice suddenly out. "It's unexpected but it makes sense, your soul command is strong enough to make Contractors lose control of their bodies, now we know the effect on normal humans. Ps you have 14% of your soul energy left, try to be economical will you."

Hearing Landon's words, Aiden let out a breath. "It's for the best I guess," he said as he dropped Maya, gently resting her back at the side of a building.

Glancing at the five unmoving figures on the ground, Aiden's face returned to its expressionless state as he said. "Let's begin shall we!"

With that Aiden walked towards the the first Contractor and in one smooth motion. "Bam!"

"Crack!"

"Graaaaa!"

He stepped on his neck with all the force he could muster snapping the frail joint immediately and prompting the Contractor to let out a shriveled gargle before dying.

Seeing the soul that floated out of the dead body, Aiden grabbed it and stored it without much thought.

Immediately he moved to the next Contractor, but something happened, the Contractor as though he'd been given a revival pill hoisted himself up, his arms used for support.

As he steadied himself, he started at Aiden through his helmet, his expression unclear.

"Clang!"

"Clang!"

The sound of metal clanging could be heard as the three unknown bikers who hadn't fallen off the stairs got up.

"Whoosh!"

"Bam!"

They both leaped off the high stairs like mad men landing on the ground behind Aiden with heavy thuds, their knees buckling to absorb impact.

"Is this what they call, survival instincts?" Aiden's voice sounded out again, his tone mocking as a small smirk danced at the edge of his lips.

The Bikers finally seemed to take him seriously as they glanced at one another, their movements reflecting their caution and apprehension.

Aiden was cornered, with three Contractors behind him and four in front, noting their tight demeanor, Aiden glanced around. "The Two Wheeled Thunderers were in a bind," Aiden's voice suddenly sounded out again, his tone mocking as he continued. "They were staring at the most powerful hero their eyes had ever seen, but they had to obey the order of the motorcycle lor-"

"Whoosh!"

The sound of the wind tearing alarmed Aiden, one of the bikers behind him had rushed up to him delivering a heavy punch as he yelled. "Don't disrespect the Blue Dragon, you bastard."

Swiftly, Aiden sidestepped easily evading the attack, the whales of the air a testament to the power behind it. "That was a wide swing," he muttered.

"Bam!"

At the same time, he kicked his attacker at the side sending him staggering as he added. "How lackluster, by your swing, I can tell you're just a random strength Contractor, did you just wake up and make a deal with a Threat Level 20 demon? You fight like a rookie."

As Aiden said this, he spoke to Landon in his head. "I told you, they're from the syndicate, how long do you think I can last without using soul energy?"

"A few minutes," Landon quipped.

"Whoosh!"

Another Contractor came forward, swinging a metal rod at him, seeing this, Aiden didn't panic, instead, he hurriedly rushed forward as if planning to take the attack head-on.

"Bam!"

A sound could be heard as Aiden blocked the swing from the attacker's elbow while delivering a straight punch to the stomach from underneath.

"Bang!"

"Argh!"

The attacker was compelled to gawk into his helmet as the power behind Aiden's punch forcefully arched his back.

Before he could recover, Aiden swiftly moved grabbing the helmet, and dragged it off the Biker's head.

He had black hair each strand pointing upward from Aiden's rough execution.

His ruthless eyes were widened and red from a shock that was only amplified by droplets of his own perspiration forced upon him.

"Bam!"

Another thud could be heard as Aiden turned the helmet upside down forcefully hitting the man in his head, ruining the previously established emotions.

By now the other Bikers had recovered and moved in from all around, but Aiden wasn't startled.

Grabbing the disoriented Biker with one hand Aiden's muscles bulged slightly as he threw the man behind him.

At the same time, two more Contractor's were upon him, both unarmed.

"Bam!"

Aiden swung his newfound weapons at the Bikers head, but as soon as one helmet collided with the order it bounced off, sending Aiden staggering backward a bit. "Quality helmets," he thought as he leaned back to dodge the second attack.

Suddenly Aiden felt a faint sense of danger, and before he could react. "Bang!"

"Zzzzzz!"

An attack hit him straight on his face sending a small blast of air to the side.

Aiden felt an electrical sizzle rush through his entire being, this force paralyzed him slightly, but he quickly recovered.

The attacker had hidden behind his companion, and Aiden had been too relaxed to think much of it, now, he tried to sidestep.

"Pii!"

A grotesque sound filled Aiden's ears as his pain sensors flared like crazy. Aiden scrunched his brows and gritted his teeth, his eyes registering a metal rod protruding from his shoulder.

The rod had originally been aimed for his head but Aiden sensed it in time and moved.

"Argh!"

Aiden groaned again, his expression finally changing from pain to anger.

"Slash!"

With the rod still stuck in his shoulder, he swayed slightly revealing his tail which moved fast.

Blood splashed in a thin line as a deep gash was left on of the Biker's head cutting through his helmet like butter, silently this man slumped on the ground with Aiden quickly grabbing his soul and storing it.

"What the fuck was that!"

The Biker with a paranormal Contract yelled as he tried to back off, but Aiden wasn't having it, his tail moved again rapping itself around the Biker's ankle.

"Whoosh!"

"Bang!"

A fully grown man was tossed through the air violently hitting a wall beside him, and as Aiden did this he held onto the rod impaled in his chest with a firm grip.

"Argh!"

Aiden groaned heavily as he yanked the metal rod from his wounded chest while thinking to himself. "14% of soul energy won't heal this."
