Robert gives me a dismissive nod, then drops off a sizable sum of cash before getting up and approaching. I grab his hand and feel him put his arm around my waist, giving me goosebumps all over my body.
I lean into Robert's arms as we head towards the door and place my head on his chest. It wasn't fair that he was constantly so friendly. As we went outside, the chilly night air gave us comfort. I breathed in Robert's musty fragrance as he squeezed me even tighter.
He helps me open my door and then closes it after me as he moves to my side. My eyes are beginning to feel heavy due to the effects of the wine. He backs out of the vacant parking lot, and I yawn, drawing his attention.
"You tired?""
I groan and slump into the seat, resting my head on the armrest next to his elbow. "Mhm," I reply.
He laughs, and when I feel him touch my cheek, I become rigid. At his touch, my cheeks sting, and I do my best to suppress a smile.
