You prepared to leave, lovely? Daniel shows up next to me.
I chuckle and stand up to pay the bartender. Daniel moves my hand and puts a $100 bill in it, then he puts his arm around my waist and walks out.
Did you enjoy yourself? He casts a downward gaze at me.
I grin and say, "Yeah, it wasn't that awful actually. "That is, until you left."
He scowls, "I'm sorry sweetie. "I had a lot to talk about with Mr. Johnson."
Is everything all right? Since I'm virtually pressed up against his side, I say this while leaning towards him.
He smiles and rubs my waist with his thumb. "It will be," he says. My skin begins to flush with goosebumps, and I have to will myself to look away.
Thankfully, the reporters have left by the time we arrive outside. As we make our way to Daniel's car, I hear laughter. When I turn to the source of the commotion, Barbra is leaning against a convertible and being kissed on the neck.
The man presses his forehead against hers after removing his head from her chest. Robert, not just any dude. When he opens the door to his silver Ferrari 458 Italia—one of my many dream cars—he gives her a forceful kiss on the lips. As she enters, he gives her a butt smack and grinned at her. He turns back and looks directly at me as he closes her door.
He remains seated before giving me a quick once-over. I treat him the same way. Actually, it wasn't until now that I realized what he was wearing. He was dressed simply in a navy blue suit jacket, and I'm pretty sure Barbra undone the button on his shirt. For tonight, he had combed back his hair and rolled up his sleeves to show off his stunning tattoos.
It was reasonable to claim that he appeared beautiful.
Without so much as a glance back, he runs to his side of the vehicle and accelerates off beside Barbra.
I suddenly feel ill for no apparent reason, and all I want to do is go home and cuddle with Nate while I'm covered in a warm blanket.
I smile at Daniel as he opens the door for me and then I enter. You all right? As we approach a red light, Daniel asks.
I tell a falsehood, "Yeah, just a little cold." Well, not really; it is quite frigid.
I'm really sorry, oh my god. He apologizes and then turns on the heating and seat warmers. "I forgot to turn on the heater," he says.
I laugh. "Calm down, Daniel; everything will be fine."
Before parked on the street in front of my building, he grinned sheepishly. He opens the door while jogging over to my side and assists me. I timidly leaned against him for warmth, hooking my arm through his. He offers to grip my chilly hand with his free hand to keep it warm. A true gentleman.
As we ride the elevator to my flat, we laugh a little and speak about nothing in particular. "You're not coming into work tomorrow, and that's final. I'm serious."
"Daniel," I chuckle. "I'll be alright,"
"No, I won't permit you. He threatens to send you home if you come.
I groan and give him a cheeky glare after finally giving up. "I despise you."
He exhales, putting his hand to his heart. Now, Ms. Jones, is that the best approach to speak with your boss?
I snidely wag my tongue, "Were not in the workplace." We laugh and halt in front of my flat after he taps my hip. "Tonight was enjoyable. I appreciate you inviting me.
He smiles, "Thank you for accepting my invitation. I'll see you on Monday.
"See you on Monday," I say with a smile.
He turns to face me after looking at the door of my flat. My breath catches as he advances. He gives my cheek a gentle kiss and lets his lips linger for a short while before drawing away to look into my eyes.
Did I tell you that you looked gorgeous tonight? He murmurs.
I tease, "You might've mentioned it once or twice."
He bites his lip while nodding. "Just checking. Until tomorrow, IsaBella.
I chuckle, "Goodnight Mr. Olivia."
He gives me a smirk while opening my door. He yells at me from behind him as he walks away and enters the elevator before leaving me at home. I grin at him from where he was standing and enter the room to find Nate crossing his arms and grinning at me.
He teases, "He actually got you home by midnight. "Good guy,"
I sulk and reach out to grab Nate like a toddler. He walks towards me while rolling his eyes amusingly. His hands wrap around the back of my knees and support my back as I put my arm around his neck. I sigh contentedly and rest my head in the crook of his neck.
I'm put back on the floor after Nate escorts me to my room. I place my hand on his shoulders as he stoops down to remove my really high heels for me. I groan as I step back down to that smooth surface and touch the chilly floor.
Nate chuckles as he approaches me with one of his loose-fitting t-shirts. He motions for me to turn around, unzips my dress, and hangs it up for me. He pulls my oversized t-shirt down over my head, letting it hang loosely till it covers my knees.
He picks me back up and leads me to the bed before tucking me in. He gives me a goodnight kiss and demands that I tell him everything the next day before climbing into bed with me. He moves my body closer to him so that I may become warm after turning off the lamp.
Without him, what would I do?
I truly enjoyed reading that some of you are torn between liking Robert or Daniel more. Additionally, all of your comments about how it was unlawful to end on a cliffhanger in the final chapter made me laugh out loud. By the way, Nate is portraying Logan, my closest friend. Logan is precisely like Nate and is likewise gay. The same way Logan and I are as a couple, IsaBella and Nate. He is the kindest man, and I'm the luckiest girl in the world. He enjoys reading all of your Nate-related remarks.
