The air fell silent, the tension between Gray and Paddy suffocating.
As Gray lay on the ground, his sharp gaze locked onto hers, a flicker of emotion crossed his face. He looked deeply into Paddy's eyes, and for the first time, he saw something raw and unguarded.
Within her fiery gaze, he saw a woman who had sacrificed everything to stand beside him, to fight for him, and to earn his approval.
Her words, bold and seemingly audacious, were not empty. She had meant every one of them. And in that moment, Gray found himself admiring her determination.
The arrow still hovered at his temple, the sharp tip glinting under the fading light. If she released it, even by accident, he would be dead.
Yet, a sadistic grin spread across Gray's face. His voice broke the silence, low and challenging. "Tell me, Paddy… how far will you go? Your love for me—how deep does it run?"
