Gray might have been a child now, but he was literally an old man in the body of a child.
Other children might have not minded or even not been aware but the moment Gray no longer felt the warmth of his sister on his skin, his eyes shut wide open.
Gray raised his head and just up ahead, he could see her.
Cherry struggled ceaselessly. She was held down by the Leprechaun on one side and a Werecat on the other. They both held her down tightly.
Naturally, their strength overpowered hers.
Her eyes were wet with tears and her mouth had been covered shut by a piece of black bread that she tried desperately to vomit but couldn't.
"Hold her down, once the boss Orc has taken her head, we can satiate our hunger with her leftovers," Samuel chuckled eerily. His mouth even salivated as his eyes remained on Cherry's tender skin.
"No!" Gray screamed as he lunged forward. However, as if already preplanned, he was held down by an Ogre, "Wait your turn to be devoured Werecub!" he smacked Gray on the head. This was an action that made him temporarily dizzy.
After all, Ogre were quite strong creatures. Even though the one that held him down was not a fully matured one, its green arms were so big he only needed to hold Gray down with one hand.
And that covered Gray's entire back.
Blood flowed from Gray's head like little streams on each side, coloring his dirty skin.
He did not even have enough blood to spare in the first place and he was losing more.
Gray tried to struggle, but he was very weak. His spirit was ignited by the flow of adrenaline through his body in hunger to launch forward and save his sister, but his muscles did not want to listen to him.
It was as if his limbs, his legs, and hands were not his own. Coupled with the fact that he was mostly drained of blood, he was nearly empty of a source of strength.
Just then, from the shadows in the bowels of the ship, a figure rose to its feet and stepped forward. Even through his dizzy eyes, Gray could see as the creature advanced forward.
Gray could barely make out the figure of the beast, but this slight rising alone seemed to give the huge ship some extra sway.
In and out, the figure breathed, releasing water vapor, and then it moved even closer as it stretched its muscularly built hand, huge and heavy like a sledgehammer.
As it did, Gray got the opportunity to have a better look at the creature's face. This was an Orc. It had a face that resembled a pig with tusks protruding on either side, bent towards its own face.
It was practically round, with a big middle. This was a creature of two things, Muscles and Fat. Which was more was not known, but supernatural creatures were mostly in touch with their primal side.
And like most animals, the bigger the creature was, the scarier it was as size served a significant role when it came to having more power.
Like all the creatures, Gray, swayed by his primal instincts, was moved to fear. However, with the kind of mind, he had, one made of steel, molded to even face a god. He quickly dismissed his instinctual fear.
he struggled some more, but it was no use.
At this moment, Cherry was finally able to spit out the black bread from her mouth. She turned to Gray, "Brother! Brother!! Save me!!! I don't want to die. I don't want to Die!!!"
Her voice seemed to cut through space and time, as it sparked an old but very familiar memory In Gray's head.
It was of his former life. By accident during one of his escapades going around the world, he had discovered an ancient library like laboratory that belonged to an old mad man. He called himself a man of science, and his peculiar interest was in unlocking the secrets within the bloodline of supernatural creatures with science and also proving the soul as a physical entity when it came to soul energy used by humans.
This particular scientist did not discriminate in his experiments on both humans and supernatural creatures.
Back then, Gray had heard news of constant kidnappings and beast attacks in a particular town and had gone to ensure the safety of his people, personally leading a battalion of soldiers.
They had fought wild, abominable creatures, some of which literally spat fire and brimstone.
Luckily, he had made it to the end. More than half of the battalion he had brought with him left their lives forever on the battlefield.
Gray, as their commander was left with no choice but to leave their bodies behind and push onward.
By the time they had gotten to the lab of the mad scientist, he discovered that the man, scared of the threat of death at the hands of Gray and his men, had immediately fled, taking a huge chunk of his research with him.
However, a part of it was left behind. This part, Gray had studied principally out of curiosity.
According to some of those research papers, it was possible for bloodline ability to be taken from one supernatural creature and planted in another.
According to the mad man's research, the closer the relationship in bloodline, the more feasible the possibility.
Of course, the many conditions for this were nearly all impossible.
However, there was one that stood out specifically, and that was on the faint assumption that digestion was possible.
It was simple. It involved digesting the essence of another supernatural creature using one's own bloodline.
Of course, as earlier stated, it was not possible. The reason was simply because bloodline even from the same mother was very unique to the individual that possessed it.
The bloodline, in preservation of itself would always instinctively reject the influence of another bloodline.
However, the theory had a solution to the problem. And that was in its theoretical purity...
