Chapter 15 - How Dare You

As Goji lifted his claws for Duster's head, the six-year-old boy could see it clearly. There was no way that hand would land and survive.

After all, he had heard Goji's poison was so deadly that he had once killed an adult bull with a hit.

It was practically as deadly as a snake's poison.

Duster wanted to fight, but Goji kept him in place with one hand while the other was lifted above his head.

On the other hand, Duster's body refused to listen to him.

He tried to call on the force to defend himself, but all that came out was the vomiting of blood from his mouth.

His hands and legs suddenly weighed a ton, and his muscles seemed to have a heated argument with his joints about disobeying him every time.

All he could do was watch as death was sure to visit him at his young age.

The claw stormed down.

Goji's goal was true and his aim was none other than the boy's neck.

Just poisoning Duster was not going to be enough. His predatory instincts pushed him to aim for the neck

Duster could see in Goji's eyes that he was going to rip his neck off.

Instinctively, Duster closed his eyes as he admitted to himself, the sealing of his own fate.

Death had come for him, and like any in his shoes would act, fear overwhelmed him.

Goji lowered his claws with fierce intent.

And even before the attack hit, Duster could feel the force blow hot wind on his face.

However, the hit didn't land at the moment he expected it to.

Duster opened an eye to take a look. The claws didn't land.

Instead, it just hovered there in the air.

Duster was surprised as to why Goji's hand stopped.

He quickly observed that it wasn't that Goji didn't want to land the attack, it was that he couldn't.

Another set of claws clasped Goji's.

Both pairs of eyes turned to the person who had stopped the attack tracing their view from the smaller hand all the way to his face.

Duster's eyebrows shook in surprise.

It was Gray!

.....A few minutes ago....

Gray's blood boiled harshly, he was furious in his dying state at his uselessness and that excited a vigorous rush for pay back.

Instantly, a wave of aura bloom from his body and his senses heightened as he captured the intricate details of his environment.

From the slab he laid on motionless, to the crying younger sister, her every tear as they fell from her eyes to wet his skin, to his general environment.

All of a sudden, he could tell the shape of every crooked stone, every bend and every curve of every object around him.

What's more, he could even tell if the surface was rough or smooth and to what degree.

He had suddenly become a center, sending sonic waves around his body from his senses, acquiring information about his environment that he would have normally not see with his eyes.

Instinctively, he sent this wave in all directions and it expanded even more, encompassing the dome and going beyond it.

In his mind eye, he could see every blade of grass, examine their form, and even capture the veined patterns on their bodies.

His senses even went so far as to envelop the trees.

He could see the Were cubs playing around waiting for the adults to return, and could even notice the two he had fainted above the dome wake up.

Just then, he felt the echoes of the fight within the forest reach him as Duster fought with all his heart and rage against an opponent he was never going to win.

Gray's senses stretched thin as he observed the fight.

Every hit Goji gave resounded against the environment, and Gray in his motionless state, felt it.

He suddenly opened his eyes, "Duster is in trouble!"

Without waiting to explain to the surprised Cherry, he rushed out of the dome.

And he did it in a manner unlike he expected.

The moment he kicked against the ground and launched in the air, it was not his legs that went before him, rather it was his hands.

They landed on the ground, and his hind legs kicked again, he jumped in the air, bouncing against the sloppy walls and making a somersault like a well trained dog attempting to catch a frisbee.

The entire movement felt so natural for him.

He felt as if walking on two legs all this while had been the wrong way to parade the earth.

Words could not explain the mix of feelings as he jumped from edge to edge of the walls, defying the laws of physics.

Without a waste of time, he stormed into the forest.

His senses like a tidal wave spread all around him.

There was nothing for almost five hundred meters that was not suddenly enveloped by his senses.

And when his hands and legs touched the earth, it was like he developed eyes to even see a hundred meters deep within.

It was so clear that he could even observe the ants as they dug deeper into the earth.

He could tell that a rabbit was resting with it's young only five meters in the earth at a close distance away.

All of a sudden, the world had suddenly become his and it felt incredible.

His muscles moved with incredible rhythm, and he could feel the excitement from every cell in his body as the wind blew wildly in his hair.

Finally, just ahead, he saw the source of discomfort that had made his blood have a adrenaline rush.

He was a good fifty meters away from Goji and Duster, but he knew without a doubt that he just could not let those claws find home in his brother.

As if sensing the importance of the moment, his muscles taunted in response to the emergency, and strength came from a well deep within his very soul.

Just before the attack would hit, he caught it.

And then he turned to Goji, "How Dare You?"
