Chapter 5 - Our Bloodline Creed

Dan's words were cut short as he felt an old ancient power stream around in the body underneath him.

It was fierce and seemed like it was about to burst open in primal rage.

It was from the will exerted by Gray in the attempt to push his elder brother up.

However, at this moment, a loud GROWL was heard that scared both of them silly.

Gray and Dan turned in the direction it had come from.

It was from Rose, Gray's elder sister, and Dan's twin sister.

"Shit! It's the devil," Dan lamented as he tried to escape, but Rose was faster.

With a jump in the air, she mounted Dan's neck and with a tumble forward, he was on the ground.

She grabbed him by the ears, "How many times have I warned you not to bully my Gray-baby,"

~Twist~

She twisted his ears fiercely.

"Ahhhh!!!" Dan gave a wail of pain.

He was the twin with a stronger bloodline, but his elder sister had a fierce nature about her that made for disciplining Dan a piece of cake.

"How many times have I told you not to bully your younger brother, huh? Can't you be a better big brother," she added a little more force to her twist, making Dan scream even more.

Gray on the other hand relaxed on the ground.

From just the struggle moments ago, he felt as if all the strength in his body had been sapped out.

He looked at Rose with gratefulness, "Thanks sister Rose!"

"Awwn any time, Gray-baby." She gave him an affectionate smile.

However, when she turned to Dan, that smile had become the frown of the devil.

Aside their parents, Rose was most likely the only one in the clan that could bully Dan.

She grabbed him by his long black hair and bent his head facing Gray, "What do you say?"

"I'm sorry! I'm sorry!! Now, please let me go, daughter of the Nether realm," Dan pleaded.

However, his last words pissed her off even more.

She spun him around, giving him a lock on the ground with her knees and elbows.

"AHHH!!!" Dan screamed some more.

"What was that you said about daughter of the Nether realm!? I can see you no longer want your limbs, I'll extract them for you."

She added a little more pressure. However, Dan turned in a particular direction and shamelessly screamed, "MAMA! Rose is doing it again!"

Once more, there was another GROWL.

This time around, it was Rose that felt a shiver run down her spine.

She quickly tried to dodge, but her mother caught her by her long hair.

But this time around, one person was not going to face punishment alone.

She lifted both Dan and Rose by their long black hair, their legs dangling in the air.

"Do I need to tell the both of you that today is an important day for your younger brother? Why must the two of you always disgrace me. You are already sixteen and you still fight like little children, Huh!?"

"He started it!" Rose pointed at Dan, "I caught him bullying Gray-baby again."

Denver turned to her daughter, "And that is enough reason for you to bully him too? Can't you do better as a big sister? How many times do I have to remind you of this family's creed? Both of you, now say it!"

Denver was the disciplinarian in the family, her words were absolute.

Dan and Rose looked at one another with frowns, but their mother's words could not be disobeyed, death was an easier option.

"In moonlit unity, our bloodline binds, a werewolf family, forever entwined."

This phrase, it was not the first time Gray had heard it. It was recited everyday by the family at all occasions.

It was a constant reminder of their bond, family, bloodline and origins. This phrase was not for the entire clan.

No! it was reserved strictly for the members of their family.

Even though he too was forced to recite it, Gray absolutely hated it.

"Good! Just look at both of you. You have soiled yourselves in the mud. Get yourselves clean and get your younger brother ready. The ceremony starts in an hour. Do you understand!?"

"Yes, MAMA!" Both of them replied.

"Good," Denver carried a cheer on her face. She turned to Gray and gave him a smile before she dropped her children, turned and left.

Rose quickly went to help Gray up. For a Werewolf, he was surprisingly very weak.

Dan on the other hand muttered lowly as he left, "Daughter of the Nether, you won't find a Mate!"

"What did you say!?" Rose turned.

However, Dan immediately ran out of sight.

Rose sighed lowly to calm herself down.

That last insult from Dan had touched a bit of a sour spot and Gray noticed this.

After all, at age sixteen, female Weres had started imprinting.

Having a Mate and giving life to the next generation was seen as the biggest honor a Werefemale could have.

However, none of the men, young or old wanted to look her way.

They said she was too fierce. Then again, her fierce nature was something she inherited proudly from her mother.

It was just that the others did not see it this way.

Regardless of her mood, the moment she looked at Gray, she gave a light smile.

A smile, Gray hated to admit, but he loved seeing.

This big sister of his took great pride in taking care of him.

She took him to a corner and had him clean up some of the mud on his robes.

Then again, they were werewolves.

Cleanliness was not exactly their thing.

After he got cleaned up, Gray was led to the ceremony ground.

This was a special ceremony.

Only two from a family were allowed to attend.

The others were to wait outside for the results.

In this clan, Gray was not the only one that had not unlocked his Bloodline.

They were two others.

Step by step, they were led forward through the...
