Gray's roar had shocked every body.
This was most especially true for Tam.
After all, it meant that he had just orchestrated a coup against an Alpha.
This was by tradition, an abomination.
Challenging an Alpha for his position and taking it by right of a battle was acceptable but taking it in this manner was wrong.
Looking at the faces of the elders and others about him, he could already see the displeasure on their faces.
However, at this moment, something unbelievable happened.
Before their very eyes,an arrow raced through the air and into Ironclaw's head, shooting through to the other side.
Just like any person, Gray also saw this.
However, he saw it in an entirely different light.
The arrow, thick but pointy went through his father's head, brushing his cheeks, it's pointy head marking a horizontal line on his face as it cut through his right ear and then to the tree behind them.
Gray was at a lost for what just happened. However, he suddenly heard his mother's loud scream.
"NO!!!"
Tam raised his head an a quick realization hit him.
"HUNTERS!!!"
Instantly chaos ensured in all directions.
Werewolves rushed into the bushes for battles and the hunters revealed themselves from their hiding place.
Hunters unleashed their soul power and sparks flew in the air at all sides.
Hunters with their holy weapons swung their blades in the air. Swords, knives, and all kinds of weapons gleaming with soul power, and an edge tinted with a taste for blood.
There were screams and the earth shook with the incredible display of power.
While the others fought, Denver thought otherwise.
She instinctively reached for her children. She grabbed Cherry and Duster under her armpits and then she turned to Rose, "Get your brothers and run!"
However, Rose was ready carrying the Werecat. All she could do was turn to Dan, "Dan!" She screamed for him, but like the others, he had engaged in battle.
He did not even look at her.
Like the others, he had watched as that arrow had pierced his father's head.
Right now, he had entered a state of pure unbridled rage.
And there was nothing he wanted more at the moment than to kill any and every human in sight.
He had effectively entered a full blood hungry state.
All sense of reasoning had been thrown out of the window and the only thing he wanted was to hurt the person that hurt his father.
And so he rushed forward.
Just behind the Hunters at the back was a man with a long bow.
He had long black hair and bold features that were easily noticeable under the light of the moon.
He had a silver ring the shape of a cross on one ear and a tattoo on his neck.
One look at him, his eyes, their focus and the way his fingers moved as he released his arrows one after the other, it was easy to tell that this man was not at all a novice.
After all, there was no arrow that left his bow that did not meet it's mark on a Werewolf.
For a brief second, he even exchanged eye contact with Dan.
However, he only gave a side smile as he released an arrow his way and then his eyes shifted their focus again.
This infuriated Dan. However, he had underestimated the arrow.
It charged through his shoulder and out the other side, pinning him to a tree like a sack of meat.
"AHHH!!!" He screamed fiercely. These were Holy arrows, sanctified by the power of the soul.
Naturally, he tried to reach for the arrow to pull it out but on touching it, he SCREAMED again.
The soul power burned his palm. It was as if he had just touched acid.
However, Dan had always been stubborn, he tried again.
The man behind saw this, and immediately sent another arrow that impaled Dan by his other shoulder.
All he could do was scream in a bundled mixture of pain and anger.
The man walked up to him with a grin on his face.
"Hmmm, a young one but a fighter, huh!?" the man made a teasing face mocking Dan as he walked past him.
It was only now that Dan realised that the fight had ended nearly as quickly as it started.
All around the place, Werewolves were one of two things, either dead or captured.
It was not hard for Dan to realised that elder Tam had been wrong. These hunters had not been cheap at all.
Most likely, those that were initially killed were just scouts.
This one right here. This was the real force.
There were at least 18 hunters in this team.
This was more than twice the usual hunter squad.
Dan did not know what it was but something was not right.
After all, his people had lost too easily.
It was at this moment that he noticed a Werecat following behind the man. It had cuffs about its neck and it looked like it was his pet.
The Werecat, a woman, barely dressed and mostly naked turned to him. She had a pitying look in her eyes, but she quickly removed her face from his.
She followed obediently behind the man on all fours like a dog following after it's master.
The man patted the Werecat's head, "Good Kittie. Now, you follow the scent of your little one and help my men bring back the other Supes!"
"Yes, master Andrew!" She replied as she stormed into the forest.
Mr Andrew smiled as he spat out orders, "Spilt into three teams. I saw some kittens run into the forest. Go get them!" He pointed at a few hunters, big and burly in armor and they nodded in respect as they rushed into the forest.
Meanwhile, Rose rushed into the forest. With the Werecat in hand.
Her speed had significantly reduced because of the weight she had to carry, but it did not stop her from rushing through the woods as fast as she could.
However, the Werecat she carried suddenly opened it's mouth as it took a big chucky bite from Roses shoulder...
