Nathan was amazed, not because of Amelia's beauty or the strange horns protruding from her head. He was amazed because he never thought Amelia could transform so quickly.
"You... wow" Nathan was speechless, seeing that Amelia's beauty surpassed Mary, the person he considered to be the most beautiful he had ever met so far.
Overcoming his daze a moment later, Nathan stood up and covered Amelia's body by placing his blanket over her.
"Thank you" Amelia thanked. She then sat down on Nathan's bed and looked at him. "I thought it would be best to have a conversation in person"
"It would be better, yes" Nathan sat down next to her and looked back at her not knowing what to say.
Amelia smiled nostalgically and sighed before she began to tell her story.
"As you heard from Orion, in the other world there is an empire named after Rysha, my last name"
"Are your otherworld royalty?" asked Nathan even though the answer was obvious.
"Yes and no" answered Amelia. "Yes I belong to the royalty of the empire, but I don't have royal blood. That's when these horns come into the story"
Amelia touched one of her little black horns sticking out of her head. "I'm half human half dragon"
"Huh?" Nathan gasped as he listened to Amelia. "Dragon? Do dragons exist?"
Amelia nodded. "Yes. Like the Luschvik, dragons are mythological creatures, which rarely appear to other races"
Sighing, Amelia stopped touching her horn and continued to tell her story. "Many years ago, there were four duchies in the empire. One of those duchies was known as the flame of the empire, known as such because of their strong personality and their characteristic red hair"
Nathan looked at Amelia's hair.
"One day a visitor from a distant land visited the duchy. By chance, he met the duke's daughter and they fell in love at first sight. That visitor was my father and the duke's daughter was my mother" Amelia recalled the events of years ago.
"But my mother died in my childbirth, which caused my father to go mad and destroy the duchy completely. Dragons are temperamental by nature, and anything can change their mood"
"My father ended it all, except for me. As if he still retained a shred of sanity as he annihilated everything in his path. Then, the royals found me and adopted me... just because of my lineage"
Amelia looked at the silver bracelet on Nathan's hand and continued. "When I grew up I was sold to the duchy of Hembiurg, where I met Vcansire, who was supposed to be my betrothed"
"So you're married?" asked Nathan in complete surprise.
Amelia gave him a sour look back and sighed. "I'm not. At that time months before the wedding took place, suddenly much of the territory of the Hembiurg Duchy was separated from the world"
"The creation of the realm?" asked Nathan.
Amelia nodded. "It seems so, but I don't quite know. I only know that after that, the fragment of the world that contained the duchy's territory was closed for many years until your arrival"
Nathan stood quietly processing Amelia's story. He had too many questions in his mind, but he knew that many of them could not be answered by Amelia. Then Nathan noticed the bracelet in his hand and looked at Amelia again.
"How did you end up locked in a bracelet?"
Amelia smiled sourly. "It was Vcansire, he used some kind of strange power to lock my soul inside the bracelet so he would have complete control over me...I guess it didn't turn out the way he wanted it to"
Nathan wondered how Vcansire had lost the bracelet and been left in the hands of the calamities. Suddenly as he thought about it another question came to his mind.
"The calamities... How did they get to the castle?"
Amelia opened her eyes slightly and then frowned. "I... I don't know. Some calamities are similar to the animals of my world... as if they have mutated. Others are completely unlike any being I know"
Nathan put his hand to his jaw and began to think. "I noticed that too... some calamities are very animal-like"
Nathan remembered the blind horn, the bear-like calamity with two horns where its eyes should be. It was an animal-like calamity, but there were also the tribal calamities or the blood ogre, which did not resemble any animal on earth.
Nathan looked at Amelia again stopping his thoughts of calamities knowing this was not the time for that.
"Dragons...empire. It's all quite amazing" Nathan sighed, to which Amelia smiled reluctantly.
"I think you still don't understand how strange and dangerous everything is... my very presence will cause you problems in the future" Nathan noticed a slight hint of sadness in Amelia's words.
"Trouble?" he asked with confusion.
"People will hunt you down when they learn of my existence... also that of the Luschvik. We are like walking treasures" Amelia nodded.
Nathan smiled. "It's good to have good self-esteem, but too much can be counterproductive"
Amelia laughed lightly at Nathan's comment, she knew he wanted to lighten her mood. "Idiot"
Suddenly, Amelia's body began to glow slightly. Realizing this, she sighed. "Time's up... I still can't keep this body for long"
Nathan looked at her silently not knowing what to say.
"I guess you'll have to feed me your essence again if you want to see such beauty again" Amelia teased as her body glowed brighter and brighter.
Nathan snorted and shook his head. "Where do you get that confidence from?"
Her body was beginning to become translucent, indicating that there were only a few seconds left before she disappeared.
Amelia merely smiled and a moment later all the light that made up her body entered the silver bracelet.
Nathan raised his arm and looked at the bracelet. He called out to Amelia several times, but she did not answer. "She fell asleep..."
A soft grunt came from above him, which made him raise his head only to see the Luschvik looking confused.
"What?" asked Nathan. He ignored the Luschvik's stare and leaned back, looked up and sighed.
Amelia's story had solved several questions for him, but it had created more.
The presence of Orion and Vcansire. Calamities and realms. Many things were still unanswered and full of unknowns.
But Nathan knew that there was someone who had the answer to many of his questions. He looked at the mask beside his bed and sighed.
"Demon of corruption... How am I supposed to find those masks?"
