Nathan looked outside through the window of an armored van. He was in the last van of the caravan with the luggage of Enarys and of the other guards.
Next to him, one of Enarys' guards was driving with a frown on his face since he had been assigned to that same van and the two of them were in complete silence. This did not bother Nathan personally, so he simply ignored the guard and admired the night scenery.
They had left the city almost twenty minutes ago and the contrast was simply incredible. The peacefulness of the countryside compared to the city was soothing. Without the smell of burning and constant blood, only pure air was coming in through the slightly open window.
As he had heard from Enarys, she had met Byron a couple of hours before Nathan broke into the hotel room. The leader of the Aeterna and Nathan's father had asked Enarys to leave the territory quickly to avoid any danger.
Enarys gladly accepted, she did not plan to stay to see how the situation would develop, so she left the same night. Byron had apologized for not being able to escort her, but with all the assets of the government and the family itself occupied because of the cataclysm, he found himself unable to offer any security to Enarys while she was still inside the territory.
Although it was also not that necessary taking into account the fact that the calamities had not yet left the city, so the rest of the territory was safe. For now.
Nathan looked out over the fields of moonlit crops. He had never left the city in this way. When he still lived with his family, he always traveled by train or plane.
The village where he had lived for 7 years was also outside the city, but it was a rather desolate area with nothing to see. The Khan base was also far away from the city, even though it was within a realm.
Nathan avoided closing his eyes so as not to fall asleep, then finally after several hours of travel a salty and nostalgic smell came over the place, indicating that they were approaching the ocean.
It had not really been long since Nathan had seen the ocean, because of the fact that the realm where Khan was located was a tropical island. But seeing the ocean of his own world instead of that of some realm was completely different.
A few minutes later the road was parallel to the night beach, so that the reflection of the moon in the water was visible to Nathan. All his problems were hundreds of kilometers behind him, but they were still very much alive in his mind.
Finally, after a while more, they entered the coastal city where Enarys had arrived from the northern islands and without taking a break or anything else, they headed for the harbor.
Nathan remembered the video that Syril had shown him of the large three-masted ship anchored in the harbor but seeing it in person was much more impressive than seeing it on video.
When the van stopped, Nathan got out and stood there admiring the large ship. A little later Enarys came up to him and also looked at the ship.
"Amazing, isn't it?"
Nathan nodded slightly. The ship was made entirely of wood, like ships older than steel. Today's ships were supposed to be much safer and more comfortable than the old wooden ones, but Nathan supposed there must be a reason behind it.
Besides the large ship, Nathan noticed the figurehead on the bow, of the blindfolded woman with her head tilted up.
"Who is the woman?" asked Nathan curiously.
"No idea" snorted Enarys as she shrugged her shoulders.
Nathan looked at Enarys slightly confused. "No idea?"
Enarys nodded. "Really. I really don't know who the woman is or what the significance of the figurehead being the woman herself as"
Nathan looked at the blindfolded woman again and then lost interest soon after. Then, following Enarys, he climbed onto the boat over a wooden bridge. And without further delay, the ship left the harbor.
Nathan stood at the stern of the ship, watching as the coastal city grew smaller and smaller, to the point where only a small light could be seen in the distance.
'This is the first time I've been this far away' Nathan reached forward. Only to then close it and clench his fist.
For a while longer, Nathan continued to watch the night sky as they moved further out into the ocean. Then he went to his cabin to rest. It had been a long day and rest was what he needed most.
Nathan reached his cabin and realized that he was alone. Then he took off his mask and took the Luschvik out of his coat so as not to crush it while it slept.
The Luschvik was asleep and woke up when he felt Nathan grab him, but when he saw that he simply wanted to move him, he stayed still and let Nathan place him on a table next to the bed.
Without giving Nathan a second glance, the Luschvik lay down on the table in its lizard form and fell asleep. Nathan did the same and lay down on the bed and closed his eyes deeply.

A few hours later, Nathan opened his eyes and stared at the ceiling of the cabin with a dazed expression.
'Ugh...' Nathan groaned as he held his head in annoyance.
'Good morning' Amelia whispered mentally to him.
'Ah, good morning' Nathan replied as he sat down in the cabin. That's when the ship shook fiercely, forcing Nathan to hold on to a pillar to avoid falling.
'What's going on?'
'We've been like this for a couple of hours' Amelia answered calmly. She couldn't feel the movement of the ship, but she could materialize to see for herself as Nathan slept.
'...No wonder' Nathan held his head and closed his eyes, trying to reduce the dizziness he felt. A couple of minutes later he came out onto the deck with the Luschvik hidden inside his coat again.
Nathan asked for Enarys and one of the guards answered that he was still lying down. It seemed strange to him that Enarys was still sleeping, but he ignored him and went to breakfast.
Once he was back in his cabin, as soon as he was about to eat the fish for breakfast, the Luschvik jumped out of his coat and transformed in a second, grabbed the fish with its mouth and jumped back to the floor before devouring it in an instant.
Nathan's mouth dropped open in surprise that his breakfast had been stolen before he could react.
'It's your fault. You forgot to feed him last night, he was completely starving' Amelia said as they both watched the Luschvik lick his lips.
Nathan smiled slightly but couldn't the slight tremble of his lip. "Is he that hungry? Then I have a good idea"
