Chapter 143 - It's not every day you come back to life

Vcansire's sword pierced the air where Orion had been just a second ago. Behind him, the demon was folding his arms and looking away, completely ignoring the duke.

A shiver ran through both Mary and Vcansire's body as they realized that they had not been able to see Orion's speed as he moved, nor when he had gotten behind Vcansire.

Both were third rank, with Vcansire being third category. It wasn't wrong to say that he was one of the most powerful beings present in the entire region, but Orion ignored him like a bug.

"Damn you!" shouted Vcansire turning his body and slashing the air again with his golden sword.

Mary who was watching silently without getting involved suddenly heard a slight sigh behind her. Her body became completely paralyzed and her inhuman heart began to beat fiercely.

"Hmmm, so it's another world... earth. Realms and calamities, things sure have changed" Orion muttered lost in his own world, indifferent to the furious gaze of Vcansire and the trembling Mary.

"Thorius!" Vcansire shouted a name into the air as he found he was unable to face Orion. It was a quick and direct thought, he knew his life was in danger in his own home, something he was not going to allow for long.

The castle trembled slightly, and an ominous presence began to be felt in the air, something Orion noticed but didn't think much of.

"Duke, I have no intention of fighting you" Orion looked at Vcansire and then at Mary "You on the other hand, my host has a grudge against you"

"Huh?" If it was hard for her to move before, now it was hard for Mary to even breathe. But she quickly calmed down and stepped back next to Vcansire. "Fuck you!, I'm not the weak human I was before, now I have the power to be on top of others!"

Orion continued to cross his arms listening to Mary's words of venting. When she finished speaking, Orion sighed. "Don't misunderstand me, it is my host who wants to kill you, not me"

Orion's gaze shifted to the door of the throne room as he sensed the presence from before approaching, then a man dressed in a military suit, but his face was rotten with no skin at all.

It was the same calamity that Nathan had encountered months ago in the dining room inside the castle together with Lynn, Herfir and Seinor. All around him dozens of rotting corpses dressed in soldiers' armor marched behind him.

Thorius crouched down kneeling with one leg and leaning with one hand on the floor as he bowed his head. "My lord"

Vcansire was slightly more relieved to see Thorius arrive, then again he looked at Orion who remained silent.

"You're just a vestige of the past, you don't have the power you once possessed!" shouted Vcansire in an attempt to calm his own nerves.

"Well, it's true that I'm not what I was years ago, but that doesn't make me any weaker than you" Orion replied calmly, clearly not caring about Thorius' appearance.

Vcansire was now furious. Not only had he been humiliated in his own home, but his image as king was being attacked by Orion in front of his subordinates.

The fear he felt was overcome by the courage to prove himself. So he did not hesitate to raise his sword against a being clearly more powerful than himself.

It was then that a heavy chant echoed throughout the castle and the surrounding area. Vcansire frowned at the lord in annoyance and Orion simply looked up at the ceiling, as if his gaze was piercing the walls.

"This is getting more and more interesting, but annoying" Orion muttered.

Outside the castle the second wave of the cataclysm continued. Everyone was tense and fighting for their survival. Thousands of people were fighting the calamities, some to save civilians, some to survive, some didn't even care about the calamities.

Khan and the government kept killing each other. Powers from other worlds waited patiently for their moment to act. But they all paused for a moment as they listened to the whale.

Orion smiled. "Somehow they care about the stability of both worlds. Hypocrites"

Hunching forward slightly, two bulges began to appear on Orion's back, which burst Nathan's clothing and a pair of black wings made of darkness revealed themselves to everyone.

"I don't have time to play with you, I have more important things to do right now" Orion bent his knees slightly and as soon as he was about to take off, he stopped and looked at Vcansire.

The duke felt a slight pain in his forearm and unconsciously turned his gaze downward, only to see a trickle of blood spurt from his severed arm.

"AGHH, FUCK!" Vcansire screamed in pain as Orion held the silver bracelet containing Amelia's soul.

"Happy?" Orion muttered before disappearing from the throne room, smashing everything in front of him just to get out of the castle.

As he broke through the castle roof and stopped in the sky, Orion watched the great whale swim through the air. Its large eyes looked directly at him, as if it wanted to devour him alive.

"Do you have a connection with your master? ...It doesn't look like it" Orion muttered again, watching the whale carefully, before losing interest in it.

Suddenly, his body wobbled slightly, and he held his head in annoyance. "So soon?"

Recovering for a couple of seconds from the sudden dizziness, Orion looked straight ahead again and surveyed the city from the castle roof.

"Let's make good use of the time" Orion closed his eyes as if he was remembering something before opening them again feeling a little dizzy. "I did you a favor by retrieving this bracelet, let me have some fun. It's not every day you come back to life"
