Chereads / Death Premonition / Chapter 140 - Perfect beauty

Chapter 140 - Perfect beauty

Nathan still had his sword raised, but he did not even dare to move. His body was completely paralyzed, and his thoughts were beginning to go numb.

'Nathan!'

Nathan heard Amelia scream inside his mind, but he didn't bother to answer her as he tried to find a way out of the situation.

Seeing that Nathan wasn't reacting the way she wanted him to, Mary grimaced in annoyance and grabbing his jaw tighter, threw him to the ground behind her.

Nathan rolled on the ground before he stopped, stabbing his sword into the ground. His jaw had been slightly dislocated by Mary's grip, so he tightened it again by moving his jawbone.

His thoughts had made some sense with the thud against the ground, but he still felt his limbs strangely numb.

It wasn't the first time he'd felt something like this, besides, it was also the first time he'd met Mary that he'd felt that way.

'Fuck... that fucking bitch'

Mary walked slowly towards him, but this time Nathan didn't stand still and as soon as she was about to grab his jaw again, he swung his katana trying to cut her.

His sword came dangerously close to Mary's neck, but she did not move at all, leaving Nathan completely bewildered.

It was then that Mary's fiery red hair moved as if it had a life of its own and wrapped itself around the sword.

You would think hair would be easy to cut, but Mary's hair looked like steel vibes impossible to cut through.

Mary grabbed Nathan's arm with one arm and squeezed his forearm tightly.

"ARGHHH!"

Nathan screamed in pain feeling his bones about to be crushed and had no choice but to let go of the sword.

Mary's hair swayed slightly, and the sword fell into her hands then looked at Nathan's katana and snorted.

"A useless weapon"

Mary clenched both her hands a little and bent the sword, breaking it in two.

Nathan could only stand amazed on the ground watching Mary destroy his sword as if it were just a rotten stick of wood.

Throwing both pieces of the sword aside, Mary reached out and grabbed Nathan's neck so fast that he was unable to react.

Nathan felt his neck begin to be strangled by Mary's strength and reached up and grabbed Mary's arm.

Mary frowned with a disgusted expression on her face.

"Let go of me"

Nathan heard her soft voice like a demon's whisper, urging him on. But he was able to resist the temptation and did not let go of her arm.

Seeing this, Mary looked more annoyed, and a part of her hair slipped into one of Nathan's hands, wrapping itself around his five fingers.

"I warned you"

A rustle echoed through the silent subway prison, and then a scream.

"¡!AARGGGHHHHH!¡"

Mary broke all five fingers of his left hand at the same time, leaving them bent at an unnatural angle.

Nathan let go of Mary's arm that gripped his neck and held his other hand trying to ease the pain.

Without giving him a moment to think, Mary walked a couple of meters deeper into the prison and reached a flight of stairs leading upwards.

Without hesitation, Mary lifted him up even higher and threw him up the stairs.

Nathan's body reached the door and fell through it, landing on the other side of the door.

Nathan could hear Amelia's worried cries inside his head, but the pain that was invading him as well as Mary's strange technique numbed his thoughts, making it difficult for him to answer her.

Mary's footsteps began to be heard as she slowly walked up the stairs, time that Nathan took advantage of to flow essence into his whole body, feeling strangely how much of it was directed without him wanting it to be directed into his mask. But he did not have the luxury of worrying about that and focused on surviving.

When Mary climbed the stairs, she dodged the remains of the door and approached Nathan, who had crawled to the wall on the other side of the corridor and was standing up with strength.

Nathan looked at Mary, this time the place was properly illuminated, so he was able to admire her well.

Since the last time he had seen her, she had changed a lot.

Her eyes and hair were still bright red, but her pupils were like those of a reptile, long and sharp.

Her face was completely devoid of imperfections, and two fangs protruded from her mouth and red lips.

Nathan would have fallen in love with her perfect appearance if it weren't for the fact that she had broken all the fingers on one of his hands and seemed to want to kill him.

But that was not quite right.

Mary seemed more interested in making him suffer than in killing him, which was why Nathan had not been able to use his premonitions of death to escape... not that it would do any good.

Nathan could not feel it, but he was sure that Mary was of the third rank, besides the fact that she was no longer human.
