Chereads / Death Premonition / Chapter 105 - Clone

Chapter 105 - Clone

Nathan was shocked by such an explosion, and most of all scared.

'What would have happened to me if I hadn't managed to throw that orb away?'

Nathan shook his head.

'No... What would have happened to the whole area?'

Sighing and putting those thoughts aside, Nathan looked at Enarys who was looking up at the sky with a terrified look on her face.

'A terrorist attack...?'

Nathan slowly stood up without taking his eyes off Enarys, who swallowed saliva and then looked back at him.

Without a second glance, Nathan paled slightly and started walking towards the hotel again.

"Wait!"

Enarys stood up quickly with some effort and grabbed him by the sleeve. Seeing that the young woman had stopped him, Nathan turned and scowled at her.

"What do you want?"

"Take me with you"

"No" Nathan answered her clearly and releasing her grip he continued walking as he looked at the outside of the hotel.

"Please! I'll get in trouble if someone see me..."

Nathan sighed and turned to look at her.

There was definitely something not adding up, as Enarys was supposed to be in a meeting with the bigwigs of the city, but for some reason she was right in front of him.

Seeing that Nathan was hesitating, Enarys decided to add something else.

"I'll pay you"

"Deal"

Nathan turned again and walked back around the building trying to get away from the area he was in.

'You agreed pretty quickly... I thought you didn't care about the money' Amelia whispered to him mentally.

Nathan snorted internally.

'And I didn't care... that was until I saw the price of relics on the black market. Besides, someday I plan to put it all aside and live a quiet life, for which I need money'

Nathan glanced sideways at Enarys who followed him silently.

'And I found a good source of money'

Amelia only denied silently and remained silent.

Half a minute later, Nathan noticed the broken windows on all floors of the hotel, then he located the one that led to his room and filling his legs with essence, he started to climb the hotel.

Enarys copied him and followed.

Nathan entered through the window of his room and sighed. He could only do that because the explosion caused all the electronic devices to fail and all the cameras to be damaged. It was basically a massive EMP grenade.

His cell phone had died, so he could not contact his superiors, but he did not know if it was only temporary or if he would have to buy a new cell phone.

Enarys climbed into the room and looked around silently. While Nathan went straight ahead and reached the hallway, where he found the remains of the cello where he kept his katana.

Nathan quickly cleaned the remains of the cello and put his katana back in the case.

When he had finished, he returned to his room and closed the door. Enarys was staring at him, but he didn't have time to focus on her.

'What do I do, do I stay, or do I go?'

Nathan scratched his head annoyingly.

'This place is going to be crawling with people and government agents in a few minutes'

Nathan looked out the window and sighed.

With such a massive explosion, being an unprecedented event in a quiet town like Radford, Nathan had no doubt that important people would be coming to investigate, and possibly his family.

Nathan looked at Enarys and frowned.

'What do I do with her?'

His mission was somehow to watch over her, not protect her. But she had ended up saving his life, and dozens of others.

Seeing Nathan's hesitation, Enarys put her hand to her chest and lowered her head slightly.

"Don't worry, all you did is enough. You're my savior, so I won't get you in trouble"

Nathan nodded at Enarys' words, but he wasn't entirely sure, then she finished speaking.

"My guard is already on its way... you should go, I'll cover you"

Hesitating for a couple of seconds, Nathan sighed and accepted her words.

"Then I'll go"

He walked over to his suitcase and then walked to the window to jump out, but at the last moment Enarys stopped him.

"Wait! ...What's your name?"

Nathan looked at her and after a couple of seconds answered.

"Robert Welkins"

Finally, he jumped out the window and disappeared from the place.

Enarys was left alone in the room staring at the window, then a couple of minutes later someone knocked on the door.

"Come in"

The door opened, and a person identical to Enarys entered the room, while the men in suits stood outside.

"Lady Enarys, I am glad you are well"

Enarys smiled warmly and approached her clone.

"Thank you Lux"

Her clone frowned at Enarys' reassurance.

"Unfortunately from now on you must always have a guard by your side, my lady"

Enarys' frown quickly changed, and a bored expression appeared on her face.

"Eh... how annoying, it was just a simple attack"

Her clone frowned and suddenly her body began to glow.

"It was an attack that attempted on your life... a very powerful one"

Enarys took her clone's hands and suddenly it began to turn into particles of light that merged with her body.

'What exactly happened, my lady?'

Enarys listened to Lux inside her mind and fixed her hair before walking towards the door of the room.

"Two people attacked me... the rest is a secret"

Luz fell silent, then sighed.

'I'll have to tell your father about this'

Enarys almost lost her balance and groaned into the air.

"Don't do it! ...If he finds out that something like this happened, he'll never let me out of the house again!"

'It's for your safety...'

Enarys simply snorted with annoyance and some reassurance.

"Hmmp, do whatever you want"

Finally, Enarys took a deep breath and a serious expression appeared on her face, plus her whole aura changed to a more serious and calmer one. Then she opened the door and walked out of her room.

"Let's go... what a lazy thing to do though"
