Chapter 5 - Chapter 5

"What?" Timothy and Jolynn asked at the same time, both their eyes widening.

"Let's get married." Leonard repeated his words.

Getting married was not the problem, Jolynn knew what she was signing up for, but she didn't expect it to come sooner.

"Don't you think we should wait?" Jolynn suggested.

"Unless you don't want to do this Miss Rays, I believe you have to listen to each of my instructions, after all I am your employer." He took the professional approach.

"Of course, Mr. Jones, whenever you're ready." Jolynn was slightly disappointed, she initially thought they were bonding, but it seems to not be the case.

"Good, I'll take you to meet my parents tomorrow, I'll pick you up." He wiped his mouth, "I settled the bills, so eat to your fill and get home, good night." He waved at Jolynn and exited the restaurant.

Jolynn's eyes followed him, surprised at his 360 degrees attitude turn over.

"We were getting along so well." She muttered as she looked at Timothy and Vivienne face.

The redness of Vivienne's face caught her attention, "What's wrong with her?" She asked frantically moving to her side.

"I don't know, she was eating so well." She began to choke on her breath, that caught the attention of one of the waiters.

"Does she perhaps have allergies to nuts?" He asked and Jolynn nodded.

She had not paid attention when they were placing orders, "It's my fault." She blamed herself.

The waiter helped in getting help to take Vivienne to the hospital, thankfully they arrived on time, but her throat was swollen and requires attention for the next few days.

"Thank you, doctor." Jolynn shook the man's hand and carried Vivienne out of the room.

Timothy who was pacing the halls, rushed forward and took Vivienne into his embrace as they walked home, thankful to be living near the hospital.

"I don't think I'll go anywhere tomorrow." Jolynn declared as they walked in, she went to tuck Vivienne into bed.

"You will, I'll stay home and take care of Vivienne, don't worry." Timothy assured.

"Okay." Exhausted from the day's activities, she didn't have the urge to argue.

The next day came earlier than expected and Leonard was already knocking at the door, thankfully Jolynn was dressed and ready.

"Ready to go?" He asked and she looked skeptical to leave the house.

Looking back, she saw Timothy holding Vivienne hand as they both wave bye at her.

"Take care of her, okay." Timothy nodded, holding up the 'perfect' hand gesture.

"Take care of her? What's wrong with her?" Leonard asked, seeing the overly energetic girl from yesterday looking dull.

"It's nothing, Mr. Jones, let's get going." She said, walking to the car and opening the door by himself.

Leonard smacked his own forehead, "What have I done?"

The drive was long with the tension in the car, but they arrived at their destination eventually.

"Remember, you're my girlfriend." Leonard reminded her.

"Of course Babe." Jolynn replied, getting into character already.

She met his parents and was surprised to see how they get along. From her perspective, Jolynn could see that Leonard's father was a tough man, but his mother balances him out.

"So, what do you do for a living?" Howard asked her, bringing a smile to her face.

"I work at a creche." She confessed. As much as she would deny it, she liked working with children.

"Wonderful! You must love children." Martha clapped her hands, delighted by that fact about Jolynn.

"Yes ma'am." She replied respectfully.

"Ma'am? No dear, you can call me Martha or Mom." To Jolynn, if that wasn't a sign of acceptance, she couldn't tell what was.

"Okay Mom." She smiled, and Leonard was happy that his mother approved, convincing his father wouldn't be hard then.

"Great, you'll get married by month end." Jolynn's eyes widened at Howard's words.

"Dad!" Leonard exclaimed looking at his mother for help.

"I kinda suggested that, and I love her already, you must love her too so that shouldn't be a problem." Martha shrugged, feeling not a slight guilt.

"Of course, I love her so much and I can't wait to get married to her." He replied, sitting back down.

"Awwn, Babe, I love you too." Jolynn kept up the façade that she was able to convince even Leonard's Father that they were indeed in love.

"Great! Now, that is settled, you and I are going to have a blast preparing for the wedding, but I need you at arms length, how about moving in with Leonard?" Martha suggested with a bright smile.

Jolynn who knew she was already having problems with rent jumped at that opportunity under the pretence that she couldn't wait to live with the love of her life.

"Of course Mom, that's a good idea, I'll move in." Jolynn replied hugging Leonard by the side and placing a soft kiss on his cheek.

Leonard couldn't help but think she was trying too much, but he was at least happy his father approved.

Jolynn took the week off of work and pulled the kids out of school for a week too so they can pack their things and move into Leonard's house.

At first, she thought she would have to leave them behind, but Leonard assured her it was fine, after all they were part of her and he did promised to cater for her every needs.

They settled in easy, "This place is big Sissy." Vivienne commented excitedly jumping up and down.

"Of course, do you like it?" Jolynn asked.

"I love it!" The little girl shouted as she ran into her room that was decorated with enough toys to last her a lifetime.

That was what delighted her most, the fact that she got a room all to herself.

As the siblings were busy unpacking their things, Leonard had already left for work, a knock sounded at the door, thinking it was Leonard that forgot something, Jolynn opened the door.

"It's your house, why are you knocking?" She questioned, yet to lift her face to look at who was at the door.

"It is our house?" That voice brought Jolynn's attention to the door, she shivered unpleasantly.

With venom lacing her tone, she asked, "What are you doing here?"
