Chereads / The Star Below My Eyes and In My Heart / Chapter 5 - : A Lucky Star

Chapter 5 - : A Lucky Star

'This feels good, like reallly good.' Dopamine rushes in my body, giving me chills. 'I could get addicted to the thrill of this.'

"Alright I will be asking five questions and then I will be guessing your name from those questions."

"Alright, let's play."

"Wait! What?!"

The manager seems to panic as soon as he heard what the bet was about.

"What is wrong?"

"If guesses your name correctly then what will he win?"

"I will persuade you to give him the membership card and if I fail to do so I will lose my job."

The manager started to laugh as he thought the bet was stupid.

"If he somehow guesses your name I could just refuse the membership card."

"And hire me back, right?"

"Ya…right."

'So, the manager cares more about the exclusive membership then his own employees. He hasn't changed has he." I let a small chuckle out of my lips as remembered the last time we met. 'Back then he was so pitiful when he groveled before me and started to beg to lower the betting cost.'

"Alright then let's play."

"First question. What is your favorite color? And remember you can lie or tell the truth."

"Hehehe, green."

"Ouch. Lying already on the first question."

"How would you know if I was lying or not."

"You are right. Alright next question. What is your favorite food?"

"Pasta."

"Sigh. This is gonna be troublesome."

"I will be happy to see you grovel before us and beg for mercy."

"You do you, boo. Ok next one. Which do you prefer, a dog or a cat?"

"Mhmm…cats."

"Ewww…I hate cats."

"Why? Are you perhaps allergic?"

"I am allergic to them! They give me hives which is reallly annoying and embarrassing!"

"Hahaha."

She seems to laugh at my statement. The feeling of a person's smile fills my heart, but a person's despair fills my soul.

"What is your favorite book or novel?"

"I don't have a favorite, but I do like 'Fuzzy' robots and A.I. just peeks my interest."

"I see, I see. Well are you ready for the final question?"

"Yes I am."

I grab a coin out of my pocket and hold it.

"Heads or tails?"

"Hmmm…heads."

I flip the coin and it flies in the air. It slowly falls onto the palm of my hand. She looked and saw it was tails instead of heads.

"Gosh dang that is a shame. Well, tell me my name."

"Hmmm. Jennifer?"

"…"

"Was I right?!"

"How did you get that…WRONG! Hahaha."

"Wa-what?! How?! I was supposed to be right?!"

I got on my knees and begged them to spare me. The manager and the reciptionist started to laugh and mock me.

"Well, according to the contract, you will have to follow our orders."

"Who says that?" I replied.

"What do you mean?! Do you have a memory problem? The contract says that you will hav to listen to what ever we have to say!"

"No it doesn't doesn't say that."

"Nice try, but we are not stupid enough for falling for those tricks." The manager said with a wide smirk on his face.

"What tricks? You guys should read the contract."

"You are just messing with us! The contract clearly states that!"

The manager grabbed the paper and shoved in front of my face.

"See we are Party B and you are Party A! You didn't lose your vision too, right?!"

"No I can see as clear as day."

"Then that is that. Now hurry up and give me ten million dollars!"

I looked at my phone to see that it was already 7:00.

"Hurry up and get my membership card. I am tired of waiting."

"What do you mean?! You lose the bet and now you have to pay the price!"

"I won the bet…"

"What do you mean you win the bet?! We won!"

"Sigh. Look at the terms in the contract please."

"I will!"

As the manager was about to read the contract, he realized what really was in the contract.

"I said that I will be guessing her name and if I lose I would follow any order you guys say. But, the thing is, the contract says something else ."

The manager clenches the contract, getting ready to rip it. 'He is gonna rip it isn't he.' As I suspected, he started to tear and rip the paper to pieces.

"What are you doing?! We were gonna order him around, but you took the chance away!"

"No! We lost and he was gonna control us instead!"

"What do you mean?"

She turned around and stared at me in confusion.

"He is telling the truth. Remember that coin toss."

"Don't tell me…"

"That was the bet according to the contract and you lost the coin flip so that means I get to control you guys and you will listen to what ever I say."

"Well, you can't control us now! You don't have any evidence of the contract! Hahaha!"

"Sigh. Good thing I brung another one."

I pulled out a second contract with their signatures on it.

"When did we sign that one! We only signed one!"

"What do you mean? I clearly see your signature on Party B. So, I don't know what you are talking about."

He rushes over to my direction, trying to rip the contract in my hands. I quickly kicked him in the gut, which made him fall over. I then opened my backpack and took out a small secure case that could fit the contract. I put the paper in the case and closes the case.

"The deal is sealed. Now I will have my membership."

"We refuse to give you the membership! I don't care about the stupid contract the memebership is too pricy! Security get him out of here, NOW!" The reciptionist shouted.

The security guards walked over to me ready to drag me away, but suddenly a black limo arrived at the front of the hotel and five men in suits come out.

"Finally he is here, geez he takes forever."

I gave the men in suits the case that held the contract binded the manager and reciptionist to my will. Then a man came out of the limo, whom which I recognized. 'Samuel Krafts, the one and only.'

I knew Samuel for more than a decade. It all started in Tumble Burg Elementary, during recess. He always sat on a bench looking at magazines about celebrities. He kept dreaming about being a celebrity so he can get enough money for his family and other people who really need it. He doesn't deserved to be toyed or played with.

As soon as he entered the lobby, I shook his hand and explained the problem to him.

"I see, sigh. Why do you always get into situations like these, Felix?"

"I really need it, and they even signed a contract."

He walked over to the counter and said to the reciptionist.

"My friend sacrificed his life for this and you denied it. You signed a important contract and yet decided not to take your role."

"So what? What are you going to do about it?!"

"I know the CEO of the company that made this hotel and all the other buildings they made."

"I doubt that!"

"If you say so."

Samuel then showed her his identification badge and it was found that he was the CEO himself. I was even shocked when I found it out. 'When did Samuel make this company? He never told me this!'

After an hour I finally arrived at the door to my new room. Samuel made sure to fire both the hotel manager and the reciptionist. He even offered for me to call him again if any other problems occurred. 'He really is my sweet little angel.' As I started to remember all the nice things he did for me, the more I feel like I have to protect him against the media and other information brokers.

As I entered my room, the light beamed into my eyes and I was greeted with a full luxurious looking living room. I took my shoes off and slipped into the slippers that were in the shoe box. The room was big and it had the balcony in the living room. The bedroom was big and had a king sized bed for myself. It was a dream come true.

As I finished looking around my current hotel room, I looked at the time to see that it was 10:00. 'Why did it go so quickly?!' I scrambled to get ready for to go to sleep and then, I jumped on the bed which was extremely soft and comfortable.

"I was so excited that I forgot that I had school tomorrow."

As I turned off the lights with a remote controller, fell into a deep slumber. Little did I know tomorrow would be a busy day…
