Chereads / Welcome to Silent Hill / Chapter 8 - Chapter 6

Chapter 8 - Chapter 6

Jeongguk screamed, waking up in a jolt.What...was that? What was that??? What the hell???The ravenette realised his head wasn't hurting anymore, and he was still in the Historical Society, right when he had fallen. His eyes were wide, hands grasping his hair and he heaved, trying to understand what the hell was the thing he just saw in his mind. A dream? A vision? What was that???He felt bile rising in his throat as the images were very clear in his mind. His drunken slurs. His staggering. His mocking cruel smirk. His angry yells. And Tae...his Taehyung...trembling....What did it mean..... Is this even real?He looked around, trying to even out his breaths. The place looked abandoned, dusty, old.... exactly as it should be: an abandoned place in an abandoned city. Does this mean.... Does this mean that everything that happened.... wasn't real???What was real in the end? Is this place even real!!!He looked around, breaths uneven as he tried to relive through that...that weird dream. Himself, their house, Tae....the bottle....He shook his head, no no this isn't how it went!He never laid a hand on Tae! He loved-loves him too much for that, he won't ever dare! This place must be messing with his head after all...Yes, he did have a collection of rare wines and different bottles of liqueurs and spirits, but it doesn't mean he was....He was never alcoholic! He always drank with measure and was always careful not to get over the limit! Heck he took Tae to different bars here in Silent Hill before! He wouldn't have done that if he was an alcoholic, slave to a bottle!Did you Jeonggukie? He groaned, trying to get his heartbeat into normal. These weird thoughts popping into his head were really disturbing, especially after his run with the monster and that...that Pyramid Head. That one was degrees above others, he felt lethal. Best not to run into it again! He sighed and rubbed his eyes. He was barely into Silent Hill and he felt his resolve cracking and his body already giving up from the horrors he witnessed. How is going to find his angel here? What's this? He felt something in his left hand and he looked at it, seeing his hand was enclosed on a small paper. Narrowing his eyes, he tried to get it into a better lit spot so he can see what's on it.A picture actually....one he knew too.A small island with a beautiful wooden bungalow. He smiled sadly. Yeah, that's Toluca Lake Island, where he bought a luxury bungalow for his honeymoon with Tae. The beautiful angel had loved it there. They had such beautiful memories there. They spent the first week of their honeymoon there before going to the suite at the Hotel. He pondered on it a bit, does this mean he needed to go there instead of the hotel? Is this a message from Taehyung? But...the problem remains the same: how to get there without a boat!He blinked and stood up quickly with a sudden idea. He quickly went through the old museum towards one door in particular that would lead to the back side of the place, onto a veranda with a view on the lake. There, if he recalled perfectly, was an old dock! The fog slapped him in the face as he found the door and quickly dashed through it. He moved carefully but quickly towards the old dock, heart beating loudly as hope flared in his chest. He just needed a small boat, a canoe would do, he can ram through the lake with the last bit of strength left if needed. He just needed a boat because the lake was quite profound and stories of professional swimmers drowning there ringed in his ears. Not to mention, there's a chance the coal mines were beneath the lake too and with the incident of the fire still burning there he didn't want to risk it.He stood in the little dock. No sign of a boat."Damn it!"He felt crushed with the weight of the disappointment. Looks like a dead end...again! Where in the heck could he find a boat now huh??There was a small cabin, he recalled it was the night guard of the little dock and he stood there trying to think of a solution. He could go with his initial plan and travel through all Silent Hill on foot with the risk of crushed roads and monsters appearing to kill him at every corner.Or...he could be a bit of a genius and look through the files stored in the cabin, surely containing records of every boat owned by whom in this little town, and with a bit of luck find if anyone on this side of the town owned a boat attached to their house. With renewed energy, he strolled towards the cabin, finding the door open and hanging by a last thread. He entered carefully, inspecting the surroundings before relaxing. The cabin was a measly one room, with a small toilet in the corner and a big desk that looked to be the office of the night guard, a little sleeping cot opposite the door. He went through the documents scattered on the desk, pushing a little portable stove to get access to some plastic wrapped files."Bingo!"There, a small list of "private boats" with the name of the proprietors and all. And, would you look at that, some of those boats are stationed at Rosewater Park private dock! There might be a chance after all!He looked carefully and found out that the Rosewater Park dock always housed two boats, one that belonged to an investor of the Amusement Park who lived in Resort Silent Hill. And another that belonged to.... Bishop Zackery Smith, the local pastor of St.Stella's church.Jeongguk got his map from the interior pocket of his coat and looked at it carefully. There was a church around here indeed, he hoped it was the right one....there!!! Overlooking Nathan Avenue, right beside the Fire Station, at the end where Neely Street intersects with Nathan Avenue!St Stella Church. He knew it! He knew there was a church here! Which means there's a big chance the boat is still docked at Rosewater Park!He made quick calculations. He could go check if the boat is there first, make sure it was useful and not damaged or anything, then it won't take him long to navigate it to the island, he does have a compass and he can drive a boat too. Usually boats like these have their permit and keys on the boat itself but....the bishop could have left his stuff at the church too.Which way to go then? The park is just nearby, but the church is a bit further. He sighed and left the documents right there. Alright, he'll check the Park first and then go to the Church, what could he lose? Not like there wasn't a psychotic pyramid-headed sword-wielding maniac after him, or a bunch of freaking horrible monsters aiming at his neck right?Yay....He tucked his coat into his bag, not wishing to lose it. It was a gift from his Tae after all and he liked that coat, too bad the sleeve is ruined. And set out to walk towards the notorious Rosewater Park.Silence was his companion, heavy, unnerving with the fog swallowing everything around. He was walking at a fast pace, clutching his handgun and trying to listen in to all sounds, anxiety building in his stomach from the heavy silence. The fog seemed to absorb his footsteps and everything, making the town look like it was emerging from the limbo itself. It hadn't been like that. Silent Hill had been such a small but beautiful town and it was the haven of his happiness. He had lived his best moments with his angel here. And only good memories remained. He stopped a bit, frowning at that last thought. Only good memories remained.... but all his memories of the town were good and happy, true joy had been the only feeling that they had bathed in, back during their visits to the town.So why did he think "only good memories remained", instead of "all their memories had been good"?He shook his head, chasing the recent disturbing vision he had from his head. No...no, he and Taehyung had been a truly blessed couple, and Silent Hill was the theatre of this happiness and nothing ever disturbed that blessed happiness.Did it, now?He groaned, turning on himself and aiming his gun at....at nothingness. Who the fuck was messing with his head??? Who was breathing down his neck and whispering those doubtful lies into his mind? Who was making him question everything sturdy and solid in his life with Tae???He breathed heavily, eyes set on the nothingness of the fog. He was alone....he had always been alone....his Tae wasn't here and no one was here....He swallowed the lump in his throat and restarted walking. No, his Tae is here, he saw him with his own eyes. He received his message and came all the way here to retrieve him. He will find him, he was sure of it. Their hotel suite....he'll find him there, he could almost grasp it in his hands and that's a fact. There! The first big trees of Rosewater Park, he'd recognize them anywhere! He smiled sadly, nostalgia hitting him once more, with the melodious sound of his Taehyung's giggles."Gukkie, this is wonderful!"Taehyung was vibrating with barely contained excitement and happiness, eyes sparkling with joy as he twirled between the trees with giggles escaping his cute lips, set in his cute boxy smile. Jeongguk was standing a bit far, an indulgent smile on as his eyes were devouring his little husband, heart overflowing with peace and joy at the sight of his angel so happy, so beautifully radiant with hope and energy. He didn't have the heart to stop his husband's silly dance despite some of the town people looking at the little angel with weird eyes. Taehyung was simply the definition of happiness in this moment, and Jeongguk was content watching him happy and smiling. The raven haired man moved towards his husband, who was crouching to observe a little squirrel and called out to him."Come on Love, don't you want to explore the park? I hear it's a sight for sore eyes.-In a minute Gukkie. I wanna see if this little cutie has a home or not.-The squirrel? I bet he does have a very nice, very cute home filled with all the acorns he likes."Jeongguk crouched next to his husband and sighed in indulgence before he pointed at the little rodent."See, he's perfectly fine, you don't need to worry about him.-But, what if a dog comes and hurts him??-Tae my angel, I promise no dog will come and hurt him."Taehyung pouted before looking up shyly at his husband and said hesitantly."Can't we help him first?"Jeongguk chuckled and lovingly tucked a stray lock of hair behind his cute husband's ear and shook his head negatively."If we take him with us, won't he be sad? This park is his natural home, my love. It'll be cruel to take him with us all the way to Seoul, so far away from all his friends.-I just want to protect him....he's so small and so vulnerable..."Taehyung had reached out his hand for the little squirrel to sniff it. The little rodent's nose twitched a bit before poking the beautiful angel's palm, making him giggle as he added."I don't want harm to befall weak little creatures after all..."Jeongguk frowned, not liking the little sad smile on his husband's lips and he gently nudged him."No one will harm this little animal, Tae. Don't be sad.-Yes...no one will harm him..."Taehyung looked up and smiled gently at his husband and said."But there are countless creatures in this world, weak and vulnerable....and being harmed everyday..."Jeongguk nodded and wrapped an arm around his husband's waist, standing up and gently guiding him to walk away, answering him."We can't help everyone. But I promise I'll do my best to always extend a helping hand to anyone in need, my love.-I know Gukkie.... I know you mean well..."The beauty had tucked his head into his husband's shoulder and sighed, muttering."...you always mean well my Jeonggukie..."Wiping his treacherous tears, Jeongguk walked into the park. That was one conversation he recalls so vividly. Sometimes when Jimin or Yoongi would ask him about a past memory with Tae, he would have trouble recalling details or even whole conversations. Back then, he had been horrified at the fact that he seemed to forget about his lover and sought Soekjin's help. Taehyung's eldest brother had reassured him: the sock made from a sudden loss can play tricks on the mind, sealing entire periods of time and making memories difficult to access. Not this one. This memory was always one of the rarest that he could recall and relive easily, crystal clear, with each and every detail. It made him so peaceful, as if he was reliving that peaceful day in the park with his Tae.He walked with more determination than ever. He'll find his lovely angel and he'll unlock all of the memories suppressed by sock and grief. He'll get to live new memories with him, happy memories as they both deserve.Do you? Deserve happiness, Jeonggukie?"YES I DO YOU FUCKING CREEP!"He had shouted, gripping his gun and trying to aim in the heavy fog. Whoever was there messing with his head will pay dearly, he promised. What right do they have to question him like this, to make him doubt his own sanity? The snap of a twig made him halt, freezing as he tried to discern who was there.Moments passed, no sign of anyone...or anything, human or monster. He gulped, hands gripping his gun. He wasn't pressed to meet new monsters after those that had attacked him. Slowly, he began moving once more, relying on his memory of the place to navigate it, aiming toward the shores of the lake, at the end of the park. He recalled the place because Taehyung used to love sitting there, throwing bird seeds and extra bread at the ducks and birds around. It wasn't very far, the park wasn't that big after all.He just needed to keep walking straight ahead, towards the shores of the lake, and he'll see the little private dock. There! The fog was heavy whenever the lake was close but he was able to clearly see the little dock....and there was a boat there!!!!He ran towards it, hope flaring in his chest. Now he got what he needed, a boat to cross the lake towards the hotel and he will find Tae. He was closer to his goal, he could almost feel his Taehyung in his arms, right where he belonged. He jumped onto the boat, inspecting it. It seemed in good shape, the engine wasn't damaged and minus the dust settling onto it, it looked very operational. He inspected the fuel compartiment and was grinning when he saw it was all set and done, ready to work. There was no key in the ignition though. He inspected the compartments on the board and found a ziplock bag. There, he found the boat's papers."Property of Father Zackery Smith....yep that confirms what I found earlier..."He looked through the bag but found only the rest of the boat's papers. He looked at the compartment but only found some random stuff and no sign of a key.He groaned in annoyance. Now what? He can't just jump start this thing, that wasn't his area of expertise despite his multiple talents. He could try to get the ignition to work with his knife but that too wasn't guaranteed to work. He looked at the papers once more, frustration bubbling in his chest.A picture was there, the picture of an old man with a kind smile and nice gray hair kept neat, a pair of glasses on his nose, a pastoral uniform on as it seemed the picture was taken inside a church.Nothing out of the ordinary...except the red words on the picture."Come find me there Jeonggukie""Son of a....who the fuck is playing with me???"Jeongguk fisted the paper and then put it in his pocket, standing up and exiting the boat. Fine. It seems someone was playing with him, amused at his expense by dangling everything he desired right in front of his eyes and at his reach and then snatching away an important piece just for him to squirm all over the ghost town. Well guess what? Jeongguk is patient and determined."You wanna play? Alright, I'll show you how to play properly..."He reloaded his gun, and started a fast pace through the park, aiming at St Stella's Church. He wasn't surprised by the gurgles he heard as he stepped into the park once more right after exiting the dock. He readied himself and sprinted through the fog.He dodged the barbed wire aimed at his face, firing right at the head of one of the Wire monsters as he called them, blowing its head to bits and jumped to the side, avoiding another one and dashing right through the paved way in order to exit the park. He didn't want to lose ammo on monsters he could avoid, the vivid memory of that Pyramid Head still burning in his mind. He'd rather save his ammo for that bastard! He snorted as he sidestepped another Wire Monster. Here he is giving names to those fuckers! He must've gone insane!A wire caught him across the forearm, the same one that was burned slightly from one of the Ballerina monsters and he groaned in pain, tugging forward to make the thing stumble and lose its equilibrium. Firing at another one coming closer, he quickly freed his arm and restarted running. The sound of the gurgling things behind him was giving him shivers and cold sweat but he focused, eyes on the very familiar path that he knew would take him out of the park. The sight of the ashy asphalt made him happy and he jumped over another monster aiming at him in order to exit the park and finally be away from them. He breathed hard and turned to see the monsters, freezing for a moment when he saw them still coming and not hindered by the limits of the park."The fuck, I thought you freaks can't leave your perimeter!"He yelled in pain as he felt a slash on his shoulder, realizing another monster was behind him. He sidestepped it and restarted running. The only way for him now was to try and outrun them, they weren't so fast on their twitchy legs.He dashed right ahead, trying to stay at the right side of the road and deciphering his way through this heavy fog where he wasn't sure if the next step would send him falling down a hole to his death or not. He kept running, ignoring his straining lungs and the burn of his recent wounds. He had to get to the church... he would be safe once on the boat... he needed that key and nothing will stop him!A big sign was looming ahead, detaching from the fog and he was relieved, the sign saying "Silent Hill Savings Bank". He was on the right path. Right ahead, the next turn he'd see the Church."ARGH!!!"He got the winds knocked out of his poor lungs all at once as he crashed onto....What was that? A wire barrier? He sat up, groaning in pain and looking up. It seems the road was closed off by a sturdy wire barrier, thankfully not spiked because the road ahead was.... cracked right in the middle. He bit his tongue in frustration as he saw the form of the church, just across his eyesight and yet so fucking far."FUUUUUUUCK!!!!!"He couldn't help it, he was very frustrated. He stood up, dusting his pants and shirt and groaned at the stings of pain from his collision with the barrier. He was actually contemplating it... it wasn't so high, he can probably try to climb it, contour the big ass hole in the ground and try to get to the church through the narrow remains of the asphalt that didn't fall down the abyssal nothingness surrounding this fucking town. That would guarantee at least him arriving at his destination.Yeah that could be plausible... if the sounds of gurgles weren't around in the fog, signifying the proximity of some of them. And then there was this sound that was getting on his nerves.... like... like the sounds of a radio, not fixed on a station yet with the heavy freaking static that was sending him into a fit of annoyance.Jeongguk groaned and turned around, aiming at a small alley between the bank and a random store. He will find another way to the church, and perhaps even a small corner to try and bandage his throbbing shoulder and forearm. He slowed down, entering the alley with prudence, the souvenir of that first alley burning his mind and driving his body into vigilance. He was surprised when he saw the alley was leading into a big open space. Frowning, he got his map from the outer pocket of his bag and tried to localize himself."Silent Hill Savings Bank... Oh I know this place!"Yeah, this was a small residential area with a building of apartment units and a mansion, as well as a small restaurant that he visited frequently with his Tae. The building had been a beautiful recent one, promoted all over the little agencies in town, called Woodside Apartments. The advertisement back then that he saw on a set of flyers at the hotel promised small but tastefully decorated little apartments for new couples and small families, with all the modern functions of a traditional american lodging. And Jeongguk recalled the building had a small reception area with a little room for the night guard that could offer him shelter from the nearby monsters. So he quickly ran over the entrance, seeing the doors were open and he quickly got into the dusty reception, aiming at the small room behind it. He got it and quickly closed the door behind himself, wincing as he got hit by the sound of heavy static from....From a nearby portable radio it seems. He got to the old dusty table and turned it off, frowning as he inspected it. Nothing out of the ordinary actually, a very normal and boring hand radio, old fashioned and all. He turned it on again and tried changing the channel to get rid of the static, wincing at the loud sound. He tried to lower the volume but it didn't work, the sound remaining loud and obnoxious and Jeongguk hated everything loud and obnoxious."Fuck it, useless thing!"He turned it in order to shut it off but then a sound came out of it. He stopped his movements to listen closely. It sounded like words spoken. He tried to clear the static, carefully navigating through the soundwaves until he heard it clearly over the now lesser static."Jeonggukie....Jeonggukie come to me....Jeonggukie....""Oh my god...Tae!! Tae is that you???"He tried to clear the static better, hearing the wavering voice of his angel, of his Tae speaking his name, frantically trying to hear it clearly. But it was wavering and it was actually getting weaker, the static louder."Damn it!!! Please let it work, please!"The static got very loud all at once and despite Jeongguk's efforts to clear it, nothing worked. The man sighed and was going to stop trying, his thumb moving randomly on the button...Until suddenly, the sound got clear and the voice got clear."Twinkle twinkle little star...How I wonder what you are...up above the world so high....like a diamond...in the...sky..."Hypnotized, Jeongguk kept looking at the radio, not believing his ears.It was Tae's voice signing his favourite lullaby, the voice so clear, so dear to his heart. Yes...he recalls the song so clearly because he remembers his angel signing it to him every night before falling asleep, his dainty fingers brushing his scalp and caressing his hair lovingly. He couldn't breathe past the lump in his throat, vision getting blurry as he could almost feel the loving touch on his head, threading through his hair."Oh Tae..."He couldn't stop the sob rising in his chest, past his lips as he trembled. He missed his angel so much...so fucking much! But then, he frowned as the song got unfamiliar to him."When the blazing sun is gone...when there's nothing all around.... He could not see which way to go...if you did not...twinkle...so...""What....No that's not it....that's not how he sang it!"When the blazing sun is gone...when there nothing shines upon...though I don't know what you are...Twinkle....Twinkle...little...star...."-Stop it!!! Stop it that's not how it went!! He didn't sing it that way, STOP IT!!!!"Jeongguk was shaking the radio, trying to shut it by trying to change the channel but nothing stopped the clear voice coming from it. He was looking around, seeing the walls closing in on him, shadows elongating and darkness looming. And then he heard it...the loud sound of an alarm ringing through the city."Nonononono!!!!!! NO NO NOT NOW!!!!! NO!!!"He clutched his chest, heaving from panic as the song continued, eyes darting as he saw the room changing, walls peeled off in ashy flakes, wood turning into concrete, lights dying out into a red hue of heelish fire. And the song continued as the world turned into ash and red, and as Jeongguk clutched the radio to try and anchor himself to something real."When the blazing sun is gone... When there nothing shines upon... Then you show your little light....Twinkle....Twinkle...All the....night...""Please stop....please...""Though I know not what you are.....Twinkle twinkle...little...star...."The sounds of whirring machines and the lights of the blazing fire under the now iron floor made of grills made the poor man feel like passing out. But his attention was on the radio as the song stopped and Taehyung's voice spoke sweetly."Come play with me Jeonggukie..."And it stopped, the radio now silent.Jeongguk breathed hard, eyes darting around to find an exit. Alright... alright this sounded like a challenge, and Jeongguk was nothing if not a challenger."Ok...Ok I'll come find you love...I'll come find you..."He hung the radio around his neck, seeing it had a big rope as a loop on one end, figuring maybe the radio could give him more details later. He advanced in the hellish decor of this transformed nightmarish Silent Hill and decided to exit the building.Stepping out, he had to stop and contemplate the sight in horror. No more fog around, but the sky was rusty red and vapours were rising from the cracks in the asphalt. There and around, monsters were staggering, carrying their own bloody limbs, their gurgles rising in a nightmarish supplication to be put out of their misery. Yells and cries of the damned, calling for help, begging for their lives, clouding the air. The whirring of the giant fans seemed to add a touch of madness on the general tableau of this hell risen out of the ashes of what once was a peaceful city.Jeongguk swallowed his panic, the radio around his neck emitting soft static. He frowned, not understanding the meaning of the sound now but yelped as a spray of acid hit the concrete wall next to him. A Ballerina monster was staggering toward him, preparing to spit acid once more. He sidestepped it and ran. The sound of the static was louder each time a monster got closer to him and he understood it finally."The radio points those bastards out....I can use this!"So he followed the sound of the static, sidestepping each direction that seemed to make the static louder. He refrained from using his gun, afraid the loud gunshots would attract more monsters to his location. And he had to stop himself quite violently when he rounded the corner from which he could exit the residential area into Neely Street and threw himself behind a barrel to hide, cold sweat running down his face, when he saw the back of Pyramid Head right in the midst of the street. He tried to even his breaths, clutching his gun and cursed at himself. The radio didn't go off when he saw Pyramid Head, meaning it was useless against that particular monster."But...why..."He turned a bit, trying to glimpse from the crack of the barrel and to see where the monster was going. He shuddered at the sight. The thing was standing in all of its majesty, the long sword trailing on the floor as he seemed to clutch something-no someone in his other hand. It was...it was a normal woman who was trying to fight against the dead grasp of the monster, kicking her legs and struggling to breathe. Jeongguk was stupefied at the sight: normal humans in this ghost town, but how?? And how come he didn't see any of them ever since he got into the city?Pyramid Head, because that's how Jeongguk decided to call it from now on, lifted the poor woman right in front of himself and she seemed to sob, trying to free herself as she cried out for help in a weak voice. Jeongguk bit his lips in hesitation: should he help? Or should he just conserve his ammo and wait this out? The time he had encountered this monster he had barely escaped with his life and it was out of pure luck and his instinct to survive. So there was no telling if he can survive another encounter now, especially given the state of the town around him. He had a theory about it: the monsters seemed stronger during the time when the town transformed into this nightmarish shade and Pyramid Head seemed to appear during it too as if he was some sort of..."A guardian....or an executioner perhaps?"He had whispered, thinking about the painting he saw at the Historical Society and the information he got back then. This thing must be the executioner, no doubt about it: everything about it screamed power and absolute domination. He glanced once more at the poor woman and in that moment, her eyes met his.As if driven by an invisible bond to his victim, Pyramid Head turned his heavy helmet towards his direction as well.Quickly, Jeongguk hid completely behind the barrel and didn't even breathe. His heartbeat was so loud that he was under the impression that the monster was able to track him by that sound only. His hands so clammy, his entire body bathing in cold sweat, he was simply terrified. He closed his eyes as he heard the monster's footsteps coming towards him and he reached to the silver chain around his neck, clutching Taehyung's wedding ring and praying in his heart with all his might."Please don't let him get me... Please get him away from me... Please... Please let me get through this safely..."The footsteps stopped and then they restarted with the sound of the iron sword dragging on the concrete, getting away as the plains of the poor woman got louder but further. Jeongguk opened his eyes and risked taking a glance, seeing the back of the monster going away, dragging the woman towards the nearby restaurant. Why or what are they going to do there, he didn't care and in all honesty he didn't want to know, feeling his stomach churning and nausea threaten to overcome him.He waited for some minutes, wiping the sweat off his brow and then as silently as possible, crossed the open space in order to reach Neely Street. Passing by the windows of what should be the restaurant, he risked a glance through the now wired windows and rusty walls, seeing Pyramid Head smashing the remains of a bloody corpse on the wall, cries and gurgles of hanged up humans filling the air. Jeongguk didn't linger, actually shifting to a panicked run through the open street. The sounds of the nauseating yells and supplications made his head pound, and his heartbeat jump up higher than ever, but the man was driven by terror and couldn't see a single thing in front of him.Except the looming form of the church, and he ran towards it. If this is Hell then no better than the House of the Lord to seek protection, and that monster, whatever its function in this hell, can't follow him there. No, churches are sacred and no creature of Hell could trespass into them.As he approached the entrance of the church though, a searing pain tore through his leg and he fell down, rolling forward as he yelled in anguish. The winds knocked out of his poor lungs, Jeongguk glanced at his leg while trying to breathe and saw a bloody gash right under his knee. Breathing harshly and trying to sit up, his eyes widened in horror as he saw what attacked him... and was now surrounding him."T-The fuck..."An animal-like creature...looking like a dog but with patches of its skin torn to reveal flesh and bone, wires sewn into its legs and face split in the middle with drool dripping down the concrete as dead eyes stalked him in the red hued atmosphere of this nightmare. The creature was growling, its razor sharp teeth dripping with Jeongguk's blood as it seemed it did bite the man earlier before its back arched in a bristle and growled loudly. Similar growls were heard and Jeongguk realised several other of those... those "dogs" were stalking towards him. "Oh god... Oh god!!!"The one that attacked him jumped and Jeongguk reacted quickly, rolling to the side to let it crash on the feet of the stairs leading to the church entrance. The man aimed his gun to shoot right at another dog jumping from the side, blood and gore scattering across the concrete. He tried to stand up as the one that attacked him first turned around, its head splitting further as it revealed its maw and dagling tongue. Jeongguk cursed out loud, realising he can't fight all these things alone and with just his handgun."Fuck it!"He dived to run, bypassing the dogs as they tried to jump him over and to bite him. His leg was killing him but the adrenaline in his blood was stronger than his sense of pain and the need to survive drove him quicker. But no amount of resistance could bypass the physical limit of an injured leg and he stumbled and fell in a bush of dry twigs, yelling in anguish and pain as the splinters of wood poked his injury."Fuck fuck fuck fuck!!!!!"Two of the dogs were trotting towards him, one of them already readying itself to jump and he looked around to see if he can find anything to fend for himself. And saw a box of grenades right beside the bush he stumbled on.No time to question how in the bloody heck could he stumble upon an entire box of grenades, he grabbed one and threw it at the monsters, rolling backwards to avoid the blast and curling on himself to minimise the sound damage. The loud "BOUM" that went on was enough to deafen him and he tried to stand in a haze dominated by the loud popping sound in his ears. He grabbed the box and limped back to the church entrance, throwing another grenade at the dogs there to scatter them. The second BOUM threw him against the wooden doors of the church, and through his hazy vision, he saw Pyramid Head stalking towards him, his footsteps loud enough to be heard through his muffled ears.Fighting through the haze and the pain with his last drops of adrenaline, Jeongguk crawled to the doors, pushing them open and rolled on his back as he finally got inside the church. Pyramid Head was already at the foot of the stairs and approaching fast. The raven haired man grunted and pushed the doors close with his leg, right as Pyramid Head reached his hand to grab him by the ankle. As the doors closed, Jeongguk breathed, his ears hearing the sounds of dissolving, the red hues of the sky turning darker and the fog settling back through the high windows of the church. The man was breathing difficultly, crawling and scrambling to stand as he eyed the altar. Must reach there, his instincts were screaming at him. He could feel a semblance of being secure once hidden behind the altar, once standing under the icon of the Virgin, once sure no one can see him anymore and attack him.His feet led him to the altar with difficulty, as his vision was getting hazier and blurrier and his energy draining fast. He couldn't hold himself up any longer, his legs giving out on him as he barely touched the altar with the tips of his fingers. And darkness enveloped him, right as he heard the sounds of someone humming "Twinkle Twinkle".***"Jeonggukie.... Jeonggukie wake up!"He groaned, turning his head away from the sudden light that flooded the room, reaching with his hand to grab a nearby pillow and block the heat of the sun. He heard giggles, playful and cute as his hand grasped nothing, the pillows seemingly disappearing out of nowhere."Come on Jeonggukie! We have plans for today and we need to wake up! Wake up wake uppppp!-Five more minutes Tae....-No no, no more sleeping! Come on, sleepy head!"Jeongguk humphed and turned on his stomach, eyes still closed as he tried to find sleep once more. He heard his cute lover huff in annoyance and he hid a small amused smile into his pillow. God, his little angel is simply the cutest! He can't say no to him no matter what, especially since he sounded so cute and so eager. And despite his obvious need for more sleep, since they did stay up late yesterday all tangled together, Jeongguk knew he can't ignore him any longer and he was actually going to turn around and open his eyes......But then he gasped all the air in his lungs out, as a weight crushed suddenly on his back! Cute mischievous giggles were in his ear directly as Taehyung played with the raven locks and said in a singsong voice."Wakey wakey Gukkie! Time to go out and have fun instead of sleeping the day away!-Tae!"Jeongguk groaned and turned suddenly, making his husband yelp and explode into giggles, finding himself in the raven haired man's arms that had wrapped around his thin waist. Jeongguk growled in fake annoyance and glared playfully at his husband, who didn't look guilty at all."You little vixen! From where do you get all this energy?? Didn't I tire you enough yesterday?-Guuukiiiie!-Oh now you whine? How come you're all giggly and twirling around huh? I'll show you what you got for waking me up and interrupting my rest you little doll!"The ravenette started tickling his omega who squealed loudly, laughter erupting in the hotel room, while the alpha easily imprisoned his little angel's arms to tickle his ribs. Taehyung squirmed, trying to get away, tears of mirth trickling past his lids as he laughed and giggled, while Jeongguk was grinning, loving the melodic sounds, the best way to wake up. But the little vixen was squirming too much and the ravenette playfully spanked his jiggling cute butt, making him yelp in surprise."Stop squirming baby, otherwise you take responsibility.-Responsibility?"Taehyung looked up, his wide beautiful amber eyes full of innocence. Jeongguk smirked playfully and moved to whisper in his husband's ear."Responsibility for waking the dragon down there of course."Taehyung's face flushed all over with a heavy blush and he playfully slapped his man's naked chest with a pout on his plump lips."Oh no no! You tired me too much yesterday! No more!-You practically squirm in my lap and flush that bubble butt of yours against my dick and you run away from taking responsibility? Tsk, tsk, Tae you naughty!"Taehyung giggled embarrassingly and looked up, meeting his husband's dark eyes, blown with lust and said shyly."I'm kinda sore though, Gukkie..."Jeongguk smiled tenderly and pecked his omega's forehead, nuzzling his nose against his fluffy hair and muttering tenderly."It's ok baby, we got all our vacation for it.-You're not mad Gukkie?-No baby, never. I can't get angry at you, ever!"He moved to hover over Taehyung's lithe form, and placed a tender kiss on his forehead before he smiled at him and added gently."I love you so much, too much even.-Gukkie..."Taehyung smiled shyly and nuzzled into his husband's chest, placing a cute kiss on his collarbone and said in a soft voice."I love you so much Gukkie..."Jeongguk chuckled and got up from the bed, groaning as he popped his poor back and stretched a bit."Alright, you win, let's get on with today's schedule then.-Yay! You'll love it I promise! C'mon, take a shower and get dressed so we can go!"The raven haired alpha chuckled and shook his head, heading to the shower as he asked."Got an idea where we'll get breakfast today?-I already got mine, and I got you coffee and sandwiches so you can eat them as we go.-You already ate? Room service?-No, I went down to the dining hall."The man popped out of the ensuite bathroom to look at his husband with a raised eyebrow, taking in his appearance."You went dressed like this?"Taehyung was wearing cute charcoal shorts reaching to his mid thighs, underneath a fluffy gray sweater that was too big on him, showing one shoulder and the strap of his bustier that he liked better than bras since all carriers got breasts. He had white vans on and his hair was fluffy with wavy curls framing his beautiful face.He looked absolutely adorable, but the man didn't like others eating him up with their eyes, especially those beautiful legs and those sexy collarbones. He frowned a bit and Taehyung answered shyly."There weren't a lot of people at that hour, Gukkie, and I wore a jacket too.-Still... you know how I don't like people ogling at my cute sexy husband."The little beauty lowered his head with a pout and Jeongguk chuckled, going to cup his cheeks and playfully squeezing them together and said."Alright, don't get all pouty, my little baby. Just remember, you're all mine, ok?"Taehyung looked up, his blush evident on his pretty cheeks and nodded cutely, making his husband chuckle."Ok babe, I'll shower quickly so don't forget to grab your jacket. Maybe also get longer shorts, yeah?-Oki Gukkie!"Jeongguk chuckled and got into the bathroom, to get a shower and quickly get dressed for another beautiful day with his beautiful angel. His obedient, beautiful angel...........Did it happen that way though? Was his angel really obedient and pliant? Was he, Jeongguk, all chuckling and tender with him, all understanding and playful?Did it happen that way and Jeongguk didn't make a big deal out of it?Did you Jeonggukie?***
