I open the handle with an increased vigor, strutting my chest out. I WILL kill these monsters, I will survive.
I walk out 5 steps and throw the light bulb with all the strength I can muster in my arm. Oddly I didn't notice, but my broken wrist is fixed. It must have been when I "leveled up". I need to experiment with how that works.
CRUNCH! The light bulb hit the floor 100 feet away, shattering. Now I watch and observe to see who comes first. My "plan" depends on this.
Thud thud thud thud! I hear the first wolf. It has only been 25 seconds and he is already here!
I forgot how big the wolf is.. I am starting to doubt my plan completely. He is at my shoulders in height. he is massive in width. His fangs look like they can penetrate to my heart. But this plan has to be my best bet. I don't know how else I will survive.
At 70 seconds, the mother is here now. The mother if anything is barely less of a beast than the dad. Barely shorter, with sharper ears that look like they can listen in on the heavens. Her fur is silver grey, the dad has a dark brown tone in his fur.
at 235 seconds, the 3 "small" wolves are here now. Each a growing beast in their own right. One takes after their mother with their sharp ears, the other the father, with fangs that will definitely exude death if given the time to grow. The last one has all-seeing crimson eyes, if looks can kill, this would be it.
I sprint from my hiding spot that I was observing the wolves from back to my room
This is bad. I only have a time span of 45 seconds max to kill the dad and then escape back to my room. I don't even know if I will be able to kill the father. I have one idea that my life depends on.
I will give it one hour and then try my plan
...
It's time. I take 4 light bulbs from the box. I again walk to the handle of the door, and twist it slowly. I'm ready, time for round one. Me vs "Fang".
I throw the light bulb just like before, this time closer to me with less strength. And now I'm waiting anxiously.
It has been 10 seconds. I feel like jumping out from the cover of this desk, this is the scariest thing I have done. Even before with John, that wasn't premeditated, it was spur of the moment rage.
20 seconds. my lip bleeds from me biting into them in anticipation for what is about to happen. My legs are shaking. The light bulbs I am carrying are going to fall out my grip from how hard I am jittering. I can't turn back!
1!
2! Thud thud thud!
3!Thud thud THUD!
4! THUD THUD THUD
5! OWOOOOOOOOOOOO. The wolf makes an entrance with a menacing howl! If not for my adrenaline that I'm feeling at the moment, I would be frozen still. I only have 60 seconds to kill this wolf.
I run out of my cover and get a kick straight to the wolf's side. OW. My foot! This wolf has to be made out of metal!
30 seconds- Fang turns around on me and lunges at me. I roll to the side but he still caught my shoulder. The light bulbs that I am carrying drop. Part of my shoulder was ripped off and blood flowed out of it. I can barely feel the pain because of the adrenaline.
35 seconds- Papa wolf circles around me, and I am following it in its movement. It looks ready to pounce at me any moment with it's blood stained claws and ferocious eyes!
40 seconds- The wolf lunges at me again. I attempt to dodge to the right but his claw caught my left ear. I'm not sure if it is clean off or if he only nicked a part. My ear is making banging noises in my head that roar through my mind. Odd since I thought that it would sound like well, nothing.
50 seconds- The giant beast of a wolf circles around me again, this time for a must longer time. It wants this to be the last interaction of this fight. He will try to kill me this time. All I can do is wait for his strike while the blood runs down from my ear and shoulder.
60 seconds- The monster makes his move. He steadies his legs, standing still for a moment. His muscles start popping and his eyes get a dangerous glint in it. I stop as well. I steady my balance and prepare for the attack that is bound to happen.
62 seconds- PSSSHHH! The stone beneath the legs of the wolf give out and a leap as fast as shadows gets made at me. It reaches me in an instant and I try to use the momentum of the wolf to throw it off. The beast is way too heavy for that to work, we both fall to the floor.
64 seconds- The beast is on top of me trying to bite my face off. I am using my arms to hold it at it's neck, not allowing for it to bite me.
65 seconds- I grab the light bulbs from the floor next to me, and as the canine lashes his head in a bite, I stick the 3 light bulbs into his mouth. He bites down and the glass goes down into his body. Puncturing his lungs, cutting through his throat and his stomach. While the outside of the wolf is strong, it's inside is not. The fangs of the beast reached my arm, pulling out some of my flesh. Shards of the light bulb get stuck in my hand.
67 seconds- The monstrous wolf starts whining, it is shocked. He knows he has lost the battle and can only wait for his own death. I slip out from under the canine and dash back to my room with all the speed I can muster within my legs. My bloody hands grip the handle and with the amount of adrenaline going through me, I almost twist the door knob off.
69 seconds- I feel like I am dying. Blood is gushing out my body like a hose. I go into my hospital bed and try to find materials to apply pressure to my wounds.
70 seconds- I find a tourniquet and apply it to my shoulder which was bleeding the heaviest. I hear the father and mother wolves talking for the last time with their sad howls and whines.
80 seconds- The father canine howls his last time weakly.. the mother wolf howls so loud I feel like my last eardrum is going to pop or shatter into thousands of pieces. The howl of a widow is enough to turn any heart into mush.
...
237 seconds- The wolf cubs arrived at the scene, filling the air with "weak" howls which are screaming for revenge. The mother attempts to console her babies but it doesn't work. She has to carry her wolves off.
I had to do that to survive. I will have to kill their mother, I will have to kill those smaller wolves too.. I'm sorry wolves.. but I can't afford to die now. I feel like I am turning into a demon listening to those whines. But I must do what I must do to live.
I strap myself into the I.V for nutrients. Someone must have come by a little before my awakening for there to still be a half full I.V bag. They must have done something to me for me to wake up. I need to rest after that battle, I feel as if I was hit by that truck again. Tomorrow I will challenge the mother, and maybe the kids too.
