Eidos's heart weighed heavily as he thought about the truth surrounding Sir Edgar's demise. The reality was far more painful than any false notion of honor. His mentor, a pillar of strength and wisdom in their small town, had been subjected to a harrowing fate. The memory of Edgar's humiliation, the loss of his pride, and the brutality of his death haunted Eidos's thoughts.
He remembered the day when AlbaLos had confronted Edgar in that ill-fated battle. The fight had started with AlbaLos employing every dirty trick in the book, exploiting every weakness he could find, and relentlessly chipping away at Edgar's spirit. It was a ruthless display of cruelty that left Eidos in shock and disbelief.
As the battle reached its grim conclusion, AlbaLos had delivered the final blow, shattering not only Edgar's body but also his pride and honor. Eidos had watched helplessly, unable to intervene, his heart torn apart by the injustice that unfolded before him.
The memory of Edgar's pain, the look of defeat in his eyes, and the cruel triumph in AlbaLos's grin haunted Eidos to this day. It was a stark reminder of the harsh realities of their world, where strength often prevailed over honor, and cruelty knew no bounds.
*knock knock*
Amidst the discussions in Atnas's office, an abrupt knock on the door shattered the conversation. Eidos watched as the door swung open, revealing a man whose noble appearance could rival that of royalty. His lustrous blue hair cascaded silkily over his shoulders, and an air of elegance surrounded him. With a polite nod towards Atnas, he entered the room.
"Guild master, I'm here" the newcomer declared with a sense of purpose.
Atnas's laughter boomed, filling the room with warmth. "AHAHA, come in come in, Eidos. This man is Raiza, one of our current Jolly Knights, bearing the esteemed title of Recnarp. Raiza, this young man is Eidos. He will be training in this school for a while."
"!!"
This man.... is a monster too, Eidos body walk back a step involuntarily.
Raiza turned his attention to Eidos, his eyes carrying a genuine curiosity and a friendly smile. With an outstretched hand, he offered a handshake as a symbol of camaraderie.
"Nice to meet you, Eidos. If you need assistance or have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out to me anytime." Grateful for the warm welcome, Eidos snapped from the shocked and accepted the handshake, feeling a sense of relief and belonging.
Atnas chimed in with a hearty laugh, "Oh, yeah, and Raiza here is one of the teachers in this school!"
As those words sank in, Eidos couldn't help but think, 'You should have mentioned that earlier before I shook hands with him like some kind of an old friend' when in reality he is my senior.
Raiza saw Eidos's reaction and couldn't help but giggle. "Oh yeah, master," Raiza began with a mischievous twinkle in his eye, "what type of training is he going to do?"
Atnas smile as he reply, "Ah, I actually want you to introduce him to Marie so she can teach him about a certain magic skill"
Raiza's eyes widened, and he couldn't contain his surprise. "Eh? to Marie?" He exclaimed, looking as though he'd just heard something unbelievable. "But master, that woman; it's impossible to learn from her. No one in this school has even come close to be her disciple!"
Raiza, realizing the gravity of the situation, suddenly looked quite alarmed. "Master, are you perhaps making this young man be that woman's student? That's crazy!" He exclaimed, looking genuinely concerned for Eidos.
The guild master chuckled heartily, clearly enjoying the dramatic exchange between him and Raiza. "Well," he began, a mischievous glint in his eye matching Raiza's earlier expression, "I suppose you could say that. But remember, young Eidos, there's never a dull moment in our guild!"
Eidos couldn't help but let out a nervous laugh. "I can see that," he replied, trying to come to terms with the whirlwind of events that had just unfolded.
Raiza, still looking a bit shocked, finally managed a grin. "Well, if anyone can teach him magic skill, it's her," he admitted with a shrug. "But get ready for the ride of your life, Eidos!"
*gulp*
Eidos felt nervous. "So who is this Master that will train me?"
Raiza replied, "Her name is Marie Antoinette, and just like me, she is one of the Jolly Knights; her title is Nexiv."
Eidos felt his nervousness intensify at the mention of his prospective teacher. "Marie, the Nexiv," he repeated, trying to commit the name to memory. "Sounds... formidable."
Raiza nodded, a hint of pride and grim in his voice. "Oh, she's more than just formidable. Marie is a force of nature when it comes to magic. She's known for her eccentric teaching methods and her knack for turning even the most ordinary objects into extraordinary creations." He explains the details while trying to sugarcoat some of the words to not scare Eidos.
Eidos couldn't help but be intrigued, despite his anxiety. "Eccentric teaching methods, you say?"
Raiza chuckled. "Oh, you have no idea. Marie's classes are a mix of chaos and creativity. She'll have you turning teacups into flying saucers and broomsticks into talking parrots before you know it."
Eidos tried to imagine what kind of training he was about to embark upon and couldn't help but crack a small smile. "Well, I suppose that does sound... interesting."
The guild master, who had been silently observing their conversation, chimed in with a grin. "Interesting is an understatement, my boy. Marie will open your eyes to a whole new world of magic you never knew existed."
Eidos took a deep breath, his nervousness slowly giving way to a sense of anticipation. "Alright then, I'm ready to meet Marie and begin my training. It sounds like quite the adventure."
Raiza clapped him on the back, looking genuinely excited for his new friend's journey ahead. "That's the spirit, Eidos! Get ready for a wild ride, because with Marie as your teacher, there's never a dull moment."
As Eidos prepared himself for the challenges and surprises that awaited him in the world under the tutelage of Marie, he couldn't help but feel a growing sense of excitement and curiosity, ready to embrace the eccentric and magical path that lay ahead.
"Eidos, my boy, you can now go to the training ground first since I still have something to discuss with Raiza; just go straight to the left once you're out."
As Eidos gracefully bowed to the guild master and Raiza, he couldn't shake the sense of anticipation that filled him. The promise of learning a certain skill from the enigmatic Marie had stirred a deep curiosity within him. With a polite nod, he left the office, determined to find his designated classroom and embark on this new chapter of his life.
However, behind the closed door, Atnas and Raiza remained engrossed in a secretive conversation.
"Master," Raiza began with a hushed tone, his brows knitted in curiosity, "that young boy..."
Atnas's sighs as he continued "you mean the prophecy"
As Raiza eyes gleamed with intrigue, and he nodded in agreement. "I see," he replied, cutting off Atnas's words as if he knew something hidden in the depths of the guild's history.
