Chereads / Letters for my Mother / Chapter 2 - Hope

Chapter 2 - Hope

Can lions tame the wild, where jungles shift,

They turn like grumpy constrictors, tight,

Denying chances that I might roar's gift?

What does it mean to roar with all your might?

Is roaring meant to intimidate prey?

Or shows it off pride's strength and royal grace,

Can I say, in a poker face, it's fate?

Perhaps it screams in fear, a wild chase.

"Leave me alone!" it cries with attitude,

Roaring from dusk till dawn, in wilderness.

I grip my fist, ready to interlude,

Not fearing fear, I roar with mightiness.

Like ancestors before, hunting the prey,

When all creatures stir, I too shall soar,

Across the mountains, valleys, light my way,

Sharpening my voice, with strength I implore.

As David 'gainst Goliath, I will stand,

With sling-shot words, I'll hurl it to its fate,

Beating war drums, in this mighty land,

Alpha silverback, warrior, no debate.

I am woke, a conqueror, the bold,

Defying odds, as contemporary's reign,

Feared emperor, my story to be told,

With no more time for doubts, my goals remain.

I am hope to the hopeless, strength to weak,

Hear my voice, my words, what they implore,

To roar is to find courage, fearless seek,

Amid despair, we'll push fear out the door.

Lighting the darkness with newly awoken power,

There's light at the tunnel's end,

I firmly believe

I hope,

in every waking hour,

Infinite potential, we shall achieve.
