Alaric POV
I launched myself into the air Voidpiercer crackling in my grasp as I surged after Vortigern who was seething at me with burning rage in his eyes.
"WHY YOU IMPUDENT BRAT?!" he shouted as his body pulsed with dark energy and I could feel his hatred for me pouring through the air like a scorching wave.
Vortigern roared unleashing a storm of flying phantasmal beasts from the shadows of his energy hounds with eyes like burning coals, winged serpents, and creatures of indescribable forms emerged all came hurling towards me.
I smirk adding a small bit of mana through Voidpiercer and then I cleaved right through them all in one swipe.
Dragon wings sprouted forth from Vortigern's halting him from crashing into the ground "honestly I expected more from the so-called Dragon King but with how easy it was to inflict wounds on you I am starting to think that I barely need to put any effort into this fight," I taunted.
Vortigern gritted his teeth "easy?!" he exclaimed pulsing his mana towards the spear that tethered the world together "I'll show you easy arghhhhhh!!!" he swung Rhongimynaid unleashing a large yellow beam of destruction.
Without showing any signs of worry I placed Voidpiercer in front of me before spinning it around until it became a blinding blur of blue and black.
The moment the attack was about to land it was halted by the spinning Voidpiercer which siphoned the attack away until there was nothing left.
I looked at Vortigern with an unimpressed brow raised "was that the best you could do? Because you're going to need a lot more than random energy beam to hit me," I asked with a deadpan.
"Do not underestimate the might of a dragon!" Vortigern charged forward spear aimed to skewer me I aimed Voidpiercer at him and charged as well.
Bursts of Yellow and Blue collided repeatedly until Vortigern pulled away from the clash "clearly using Rhongimynaid is of no use..." he panted out discarding the weapon into his shadow and instead he extended his hands out channeling his energy into them until his nails changed into sharp pointy claws "so I'll just beat you to a pulp."
There was barely any time to react next when Vortigern's flew at me with blistering speed he swung his right claw down in a vicious arc aiming to cleave me in two.
I parried with Voidpiercer the impact ringing out like a thunderclap as the halberd's lightning crackled against the dragon's dark aura. Sparks flew between us and the force of the blow pushed me back a few feet in midair.
I tapped into my darkness element and spun Voidpiercer in a rapid slicing motion "Fury of Darkness!!" I chanted out unleashing a rapid volley of dark slashes into the air.
Vortigern scoffs dodging most of the slashes but a few of them still managed to land a blow causing him to growl with anger. He lunged forward, his wings beating with powerful strokes and closed the distance between us almost instantly. I swung Voidpiercer in a low arc aiming for his legs, but he leapt over it coming down with both claws aimed at my chest.
I raised Voidpiercer horizontally blocking his attack as his claws dug into the shaft of my halberd. I gritted my teeth feeling his strength pushing against me the weight of it like trying to hold back a landslide.
He pressed down with a manic grin his claws grinding into the halberd, but I twisted Voidpiercer at just the right angle deflecting his claws off to the side and freeing myself from his hold.
Seizing the opening I drove my fist into his face a solid punch reinforced with my mana. The impact sent him hurtling backward but he recovered mid-air spreading his wings wide to slow his descent.
His expression darkened, wiping a trail of black blood from his mouth "impressive for a mortal," he sneered though his tone was laced with something that almost sounded like respect "but I'm done toying with you."
Without another word he charged again his movements faster and more erratic I barely had time to react as he unleashed a flurry of slashes and swipes each one closer than the last. I blocked, parried, and countered as best as I could.
Each clash sent shockwaves through my arms the force of his blows numbing my hands but I held firm.
I ducked under one of his swings driving Voidpiercer forward in a stabbing thrust aimed at his gut. He twisted to avoid the brunt of it but the blade still grazed his side tearing through his armor and eliciting a hiss of pain.
He retaliated with a savage kick that caught me off guard his foot slamming into my ribs and knocking the wind out of me. I spiraled back regaining my balance just as he was on me again this time aiming a clawed hand at my neck.
I leaned back narrowly avoiding his claws and retaliated with a downward slash Vortigern blocked with his forearm sparks flew into the air as his scales absorbed the impact, but I didn't let up. I pushed forward swinging Voidpiercer in a relentless series of strikes each one faster and stronger than the last.
Vortigern's yellow eyes burned with a primal fury, and I could feel his power rising a dark suffocating energy that pressed down on me with every strike, but I matched him my own mana surging through Voidpiercer, pushing me to keep up with his relentless onslaught.
Suddenly he stopped flying a bit further away from me to gain some distance "what's the matter Vortigern calling it quits already?" I asked panting slightly.
"I was planning to use this against my foolish nephew...but somehow you were able to make me resort to me transforming for that I congratulate you," Vortigern said with a chuckle.
Golden inferno wrapped around his body than ever so slowly his body began to grow bigger, his limbs elongated, muscles budged, his wings grew larger covering the sky, and lastly his body was covered in beautiful white scales.
The White Dragon let out a loud battle roar that shook the ground and sky the armies of both beast and men down below paused to gaze upon us.
"Now human let us see how you will fair against a Dragon Emperor," the White Dragon said with steam coming out of its mouth.
I felt something run through my spine it wasn't fear like last time...no it was something more I was feeling excited.
Voidpiercer crackled with blue lightning in response "bring it!" I exclaimed.

Phew it's been a while since I updated this mainly because I was stuck on how I should write out this battle scene anyways if I get around to the next chapter it will cover the final battle this time with a Dragon Vortigern.
