Alejandro!/Juan's POV
I never thought that in this evening I would reveal such a piece of important information to her. I couldn't help it, she loved the same flower as SHE did.
"What was her name?"
I smiled. Her real name wasn't what we used to call each other. Those unique nicknames we shared were the secret threads that wove our relationship even tighter.
"Wow," she gazed at the flower. "You two must have been quite sweet. So, why did it end between you?"
I furrowed my brow, causing her to shut her eyes briefly in embarrassment. "Have I crossed a line?" I asked, realizing I might have divulged too much.
"No, you didn't go too far," I assured her with a shake of my head. "Many people knew about it. It won't hurt if one more person knows."
She remained silent.
"I was poor," I confessed. That part was true. "I still am," I added, though it was a lie.
"Her parents arranged her marriage to a wealthy family," I continued, recalling the time when her father had given me soap to ensure I didn't smell bad.
A soft chuckle escaped my lips. I wondered how they had reacted when they discovered how prosperous I had become.
"You're a good man, Juan. Any woman who gets to be with you is lucky," her voice was soft and calm.
Hearing those words from her, the woman I loved, filled me with a thousand fluttering fireflies. Maintaining a normal posture wasn't easy.
"Even if that woman is you?" I asked, recalling the rejection she had given Alejandro earlier that morning. Despite it all, I still missed her deeply.
I wished to spend more time with her but I couldn't, the only reason why I went to the mansion of the devil when it was my day off.
"I would be," she replied, looking away briefly, adding after some thought, "I think you would be a lovely man."
"Well, sadly, you are married. And if your husband ever finds out how close I am to you, he won't think twice about firing me or worse," we both chuckled.
Seeing her smile so genuinely was incredibly refreshing. To know that she still had space to let small things make her happy.
"This has reminded me of what happened this morning," she said, biting her lip and trying to suppress her smile as she held her lips with her hands.
"What happened?" I asked, genuinely curious.
"I told someone for the first time that I'm married, so he shouldn't get his hopes up," she confessed.
It was about what happened between us, about her revealing the truth to the real me. I hadn't expected her to be so open with someone else, and I was grateful it was me she had confided in.
"How did you feel after saying that? "
She took a deep breath as she looked at the sky, "I felt so bad. He was so handsome, " She bit her lip and jumped like a teenager.
That made me laugh my ribs out. So out of all the things that hurt her, that hit her the hardest?
"You're crazy, Camila, "
"For us girls, having a handsome and gentleman at the same time is like winning the lottery. So don't mind me when I tell you that it hurt to let such a guy go because I'm married," she explained with a playful smile.
"A quick question. If you don't mind me asking, "
"Sure, "
"Well... " I scratched my chin, "Why did you marry Marcus, "
Most of the smile on her face disappeared. She looked down as her fingers intertwined. She bit her lips and said no word.
"You don't have to say it if you don't feel like it, " I assured her. I just wanted her to speak out. To let out the burden she had been keeping. I knew it hurt her.
"But I know a lot about you already, "
"I told you because I wanted to. And that should be the only reason why you should tell someone anything about you, "
"I want to tell you, Juan, " She assured me with a small smile on her lips
"Are you sure? " My voice expressed a concern I had for her, but She nodded. The next thing she did was sit on the green ground which at this level no one would be able to see us.
"Well. My first love and I called each other's names, and occasionally 'Mi Amor'"She smiled at that, "And we were planning to get married. We were both poor. So we were just happy," That made me laugh a little. She sounded like a reporter.
I knew the story would have a sad ending, but how she narrated made it look so normal.
"All until my mother needed a kidney transplant and since both of us were poor.... " She stopped, taking a deep breath before she continued,
"I had to marry Marcus. And now here I am, telling my life story in two or three short paragraphs to a gardener,"
"Oh, " I scratched my head, "This gardener must be special, I guess, "
"This gardener is one hell of a handsome man who knows how to kiss," she said, looking at me.
I was surprised to see how she was right now. She smelled of strawberry and chocolate. Something was wrong with her. Or maybe Alejandro had that much effect on her this morning. Whatever it was, It wasn't her. And I strangely liked it.
"Do I know how to kiss? " I asked her, a smirk leaving on my face.
She nodded.
"You do. Otherwise, the pain on my thigh would never have gone away, " She giggled, "Or maybe it's because it's been a long time since someone kissed me like that, "
"How many guys have you kissed before?" I asked, almost out of nowhere. It was an unexpected question, and I enjoyed this playful side of her.
"Passionately, my first love. Just a kiss, Marcus. I mean, I don't even know what making love feels like."
"What? " My heart skipped a beat. "You don't know what a man feels like inside you? "
"No, "She shook her head. "No man has ever been able to touch me. I don't know what it feels like, "Everything in me stopped. Wild thoughts started circling my mind.
I didn't know how that simple fact would make my head down there see Mars in its pants.
"That guy... He must have loved you so much. And I guess he was planning to marry you, "
"Maybe it's because he was that good that I didn't deserve him, " She furrowed her lips in
And no baby girl, it was him who didn't deserve you. I'm sure there was a pretty good reason to not want to sleep with you for all those eight years.
Or maybe he was having pleasures of his own with other women. Any offspring born from the same womb as Marcus would have nothing more to offer than trouble.
"Camila, "
"Mhh? "
"Why did you tell me all this today? " My voice became deeper as I felt a sudden change in my body.
"I don't know, I just... did," she replied, looking at me. The distance between us was only inches away, and I couldn't help but notice how warm her body felt.
She dared to look at me, and our eyes locked. She was beautiful and delicate, and her gaze was captivating. At that moment, I placed my hand under her chin and realized how hot she was.
My eyes widened as she pressed her lips to mine. I initially stopped her with my hands on her shoulders,
"Camilla," her desire was evident. Patience ran low and soon I found myself kissing her back.
