Chapter 1 - A New World

The Flames of war burnt through an endless night. Screams of Agony echoed through the battlefield as blood rained downed, seemingly without stop.

I guess that was to be expected since this is the nature of mortals.

Life is simply a cycle of endless violence that brings out the worst in people.

Disfigured bodies stayed toppled among each other reaching out to the heavens above, some already given the mercy of death while others begging for its sweet warm release.

Blood coated the once wasteland that continued to redden as time went on. In the center of this chaos stood a single soul whose snow white hair contrasted with the blood plastered on his face.

Emotion hid itself from his face, darkness enveloping his lifeless eyes as he trampled the fallen enemies before him without a single thought.

His gaze washed over hordes of enemies in their ironclad armor and blades of steel with nothing in his grasp. Footwear absent from his feet and a set of destroyed armor on his body, without the slightest hint of fear he walked towards an army that was ready to throw their lives into the burning pits for their cause.

The presence of war had not been present for a time. A time that stayed relatively peaceful regardless of circumstance. That was around 6000 moons ago.

Cold winter air blew harshly against the tree branches that stretched out, in salute to the heavens above. Birds that had a starry being released from their wings as it flapped soared through the dark night sky over a simple but humble wooden cabin that had at least two stories.

In one of the rooms of the cabin several well kept images were hung on the wall, each housing a man and woman that seemed to have a close relationship.

A rocking chair placed near one of the neatly dusted walls held up a woman, her womb/ belly incredibly large, indicating her pregnancy.

The woman had blissful star-like pupils that flickered in the partially lit room, braided dark red hair reaching all the way to the seat of the chair and a simple white nightgown .

Moans fled from her mouth as sweat intensely ran down her face. Tears of pain began swelling up in her eyes and her breathing became swift, harsh even.

``Just one more push``; a man shouted.

His hair was short and dark like the shadows itself, his physique muscular. The man was in no way small, being able to tower over the woman even while slightly crouching to get at eye level with her.

The woman was deep into childbirth, with only the assistance of her husband guiding her through it.

He clenched her right hand and rested his forehead upon hers.

The woman took multiple deep breaths rapidly before pushing with all her might. Her groans getting increasingly louder as she did so.

Slowly a head came into sight before the body began showing.

``I see them``; the man yelled before resting his opposite hand near the woman's crotch.

This time she drew a singular deep breath in before pushing again . This final push was just enough to free the baby from the clutches of the womb and into the man's arm.

He let go of his wife's hand upon his child being born and went to assist them.

Without any time to waste he cut the child's umbilical cord before raising it up gently and resting them in their mothers arms.

He was a boy, a healthy one at that. The color of his skin, lighter than his parents due to him just being born.

His hair is as dark as his fathers, his eyes bearing similarities to his mother.

With the child cradled in her arms her tears finally let loose. He was so precious and so small, his cuteness overwhelming to the new mother.

``Look at him. He's so beautiful``; She commented before the man came near and wrapped his right arm around her shoulder. His head leaning on hers

``What will we name him?``

An idea came to the man's mind and without hesitation, he voiced his choice.

It was a name that was said to be given by the gods to a man lost in time. His title no longer exists in the texts of history yet his mark still leaves a lingering presence in the world.

``Ivanian, Ivanian Gale sounds nice``

The woman began to smile before releasing her weight and leaning on him as well.

``It's perfect``; she said as the newborn raised his tiny hands out towards one of the most radiant stars in its life.

``Welcome to the world Ivanian``

In this continent that most residents know as Nibia there are many unexplainable supernatural things.

There are mythical beasts that walk the brittle lands, soar the smoky skies and swim in the vast seas, there are men with abilities that surpass the capabilities of normal humans and kingdoms that each hold a standing in the worlds

But the thing that is the most beautiful of them all.

The thing that determines the weak vs the strong.

MAGIC.

Magic comes from all living organisms that contain Mana. Every living being has Mana no matter how little it is, it is still there.

Many use Mana to conjugate spells but some use it to strengthen their bodies. These people are called Mages. These mages unlock a special ability or magic typing upon awakening the Mana with their cores.

Cores act similar to the heart and contain all of one's mana.

There are three types of magic that these mages awaken; Astros, Palios and Veridian.

Astros mages use mana to strengthen the body, increase their physical strengths such as speed and strength. They can also do the same to the weapons they possess and manipulate their elemental affinity through them.

Palios is the most common form of magic where the mage can use the mana stored in their core or in the atmosphere to perform spells. Most times with the assistance of an arcane focus, example: Magic Orb, Staff, Wand, Etc.

And finally the most uncommon of the three

Veridian: It is the most legendary kind of magic and whoever has it is said to gain god-like abilities. Due to this fact the r

In the western lands stands the kingdom of Randu which is one of the main kingdoms scattered across Nibia.

The kingdom was created due to the hard work of the primal generation. It is governed by a hierarchical system.

[ * Royals *]

The descendants of the great one that created Randu by herself and caused it to be the greatest of all kingdoms on Nibia.

[* Nobles *]

Descendants of great men from the primal generation. They hold power lesser than the royals but greater than the rest.

[ *Knights*]

Servants of the kingdom

[ *Merchants*]

Salesmen of Randu. They travel near and far to establish business routes between kingdoms. The wealthier their standing the higher their rank. In some cases merchants hold as much power as nobles.

[ * Commoners *]

The lower class of Randu. Normal civilians

[ *Slaves*]

Prisoners of war, those who betray the kingdom and people bought from slave merchants are slaves. They are meant to do whatever their master says and are binded by a seal.

.....

...…....

Two years had passed since the birth of Ivan and he was now obtaining something godly, something that would prove challenging for his young parents.

An ability the greatest warriors use to conquer, the power of a king.

Motor Skills

With this new ability the curious youngling could roam without the help of an adult.

This made him happy.

Using this ability the adventurous baby traversed through the wooden cabin that was his home.

The baby surprisingly moved speedily around considering his stature, well as speedily his little hands and legs could go.

It took Ivan two whole minutes to get from the doorframe of the kitchen to under a wooden table not even 100 cm in away.

The little bundle of joy peeked from under the table and saw his mother attending to some business.

She had a collection of different ground produce bundled up beside her. Reaching out to her left she swiped up a leak and an entire cabbage and placed them down on a wooden cutting board.

With great precision and speed she diced them to fine bits, not one uneven.

What a marvelous display indeed, you would not expect less from the woman who tamed and married an esteemed warrior; Von Gale.

Von gale, the father of Ivan had a past known by many. He was an expert martial artist and an even better mage.

Awakening as a rare mage in the Astros category, Von Gale quickly rose to fame for his raw displays of power and charisma.

He gained the title of S class adventurer and became the general of the royal knights of Randu within a short period of time.

So it came as a shock when he abruptly quit as both an adventurer and a general of one of the most esteemed ranks in the kingdom for a simple life with a mysterious woman with no known background.

Rumors had it he met her in an epic fiery battle with a mighty beast while working as a party. The beast's fangs, surprisingly less sharper than its glare but that's not how she tells it.

The damn idiot tried to get with her one night when drunk in a local tavern but severely overestimated his charisma. Applying great strength, she swept him off his feet, literally.

Even though he was in a drunken state such an esteemed warrior should not have been taken so easily.

Who was she?

An assassin of unspecified lands by the name of Mira. At first Von had only fallen for her strength but then he fell for her beauty and personality.

She too gave up her past for a normal life with a man that gave her comfort.

He crawled from under the table and arrived at his mothers legs. She felt his soft, tiny hands rest against her legs and scooped him up.

``What are you doing here, didn't I leave you in the cradle``; said Mira before sighing.

Ivan simply giggled as slobber ran out of his mouth and down his chubby cheeks.

This same incident of Ivan fleeing his wooden crib throughout the span of several weeks, each time appearing at the front window in the living quarters.

This was right where his father trained. Even though he had left behind the life of a knight the man was still used to such things and in fact did it for fun.

Ivan was entranced by what his father was doing and clapped. Seeing how much fun he was having watching him on the inside Mira ultimately she conceded and went outside with him and watched her husband train.

He laughed with each motion his father performed.

The sight of her child made her happy as well. She crouched down before resting her buttocks on the soft grass, her legs around his body
