[South Korea, Somewhere Under the Rainbow]
[Early Morning 6:19 am]
...
"You will pay for daring to harm a disciple of one of the Top 10's!" He yelled, surprising Cecilia as she didn't know that. Yulius on the other hand, kind of expected that, knowing that there was only one other awakener that has such a deep red and black color aura.
And he belongs to non-other than Andrei, who is also affiliated with Frame. Though Ben's announcement did answer most of her questions, the only one left was why. Why did they kidnap the raven?
He, nor does those affiliated with Frame seem like the kind of people to experiment on children. So she threw that thought out of the bubble. Then again, Ben could've gone behind his master's back to commit such devious acts.
After all, looks can be deceiving. But if Ben's master is a Top 10, he wouldn't have any reason to participate in inhumane experiments in order to get more power. Andrei's strength and high leveled force control is a force to be reckon with. That was clearly displayed when he defended himself rather well against Kayden who was still injured from his previous battle against 3 of the World's Top 10's.
So she couldn't see any pros in Ben smuggle children for that exact reason. Frowning, could it be? Making eye contact with him she asked, "what does a member of Frame have to do with someone from a lowly and weak country like South Korea?"
Complete and total lie. South Korea was not and still is not weak. They were never weak. But in order to not raise suspicion, they kept a low profile. Which explains why they are looked down upon.
But because of this, they are able to gather their strength in secret more easily than most countries who are under heavy surveillance from the World Awakened Academy. Not to mention, how peaceful it is unlike most places.
Perhaps that's why Frame targeted this place. Because out of all the countries in the world, South Korea is viewed as the weakest, making it easier to trample over them. But why the girl? What's so special about her?
Thinking now, she never got the girl's name. If she did, it would've clear most of her theories on why Frame was here in the first place. Moreover, Yulius couldn't help but be slightly annoyed. There haven't been any big or main butterfly effects up until now.
So whoever she just saved right now, better be worth it. Hopefully there isn't any major changes in the plot later on, but we all know that's complete and total bullsh*t. Cause Frame taking interest in a small country like this so early on, is something else.
They weren't supposed to find out until the World Awakened Academy visited this country later on in the plot. Gosh, this is such a pain. Will they notice if she takes out Ben right here and now? But wouldn't that draw attention towards South Korea?
But what choice does she have? Either that, or she brainwashes him, and she does not like that option one bit. Sure, he'll have his memories of this incident erased and be used as a puppet to spy on Frame, but who's to say he doesn't break free of it.
In addition, Andrei is an intelligent awakener who will surely notice if something is off. He'll definitely notice something unusual about Ben's behavior when he returns to Frame.
With brainwashing him off the list, she's left with having to eliminate him. Not to mention, they both saw her face. And it's not like she intentionally wanted to reveal her identity, it's just, the wind. The wind is to blame for her face being revealed.
The wind in which she did not indirectly caused. That's right, she had no intention of revealing herself, but the wind just had to get in the way of her plans. It is the villain in this situation. Not her.
Then again, a part of her is thankful for it because boy, was it getting hot. Sure, it was nearing wintertime, but her hood, stuff with all of her hair inside, was getting a tincy bit suffocating.
It wasn't hard to breathe, but it was going to be. Moreover, she didn't think it was that big of a deal because she already finalizes their deaths occurring. So it didn't matter if they knew what she looked like. They were going to be nothing more but a dead man and woman.
"You don't know?!" He exclaimed, earning a head shake from the younger girl.
"She's the daughter of Shinhwa's organization. Rumor has it, she's a genius. As for Frame, I'm surprised you even have whereabouts of our existence. But that's beside the point. We wanted the girl to become a member of Frame. But they obviously didn't know better and declined, so we took matters into our own hands."
"So, you kidnapped a child because their parents said no?" Yulius spoke disappointedly, rubbing the side of her forehead uneasily.
The raven head was indeed Jiyoung Yoo, the future chairwoman of Shinhwa's organization. And she just saved her. Was this part of plot, because in the manhwa it never did specify her and Jisuk's past other than their parent's death leading to her taking over Shinhwa at a very young age.
Or is this a butterfly effect. Cause she sure as hell hoped not. Point is, she's kind of disappointed with humans, awakeners, all alike. What kind of person takes a child away from their parents because they said no?
Gosh are they making us out to be villains, better yet monsters. And she's the same species as them. Not to mention Jiwoo, her older brother. It's hard to believe a kindhearted fool like himself is related to these sh*theads. It is really disappointing and more or less, embarrassing.
Cecilia who heard her, sweat dropped at her question and the disappointment dripped in her tone. Moreover, she was able to feel a great shame from her and all awakened humans in general. Agreeing too, that people like Ben and his master, makes their race look bad.
Not that she is out of the category either as she purposely stepped on a child. Honestly, Yulius doesn't know what's worse. Forcefully taking a child away from their parents or stepping on the said child. Both sounds bad in her opinion.
Ben who heard her, disregard her words, voicing the urgency of obtaining the talented child, "it doesn't matter if her parents gave permission or not. She would've been a better use to Frame than some country."
No matter how much he to tried to explain his reasoning for committing the crime, it sounded worse than the previous as more excuses came running in. Though there was this one thing he said that left a deep impression on her.
Something about "... power dictators the rules of the awakened world. Without power, will they be trampled on. It's a world that is not controlled by the common sense and laws of ordinary people. Only the rules made by those with power are the only law."
Right, she forgets sometimes. This is the awakened world she knows of and read of. And in this world, all that matters is power. As power speaks for itself, a powerful force to be reckon with.
That's why awakened ones will do anything to gain power. And it was the same as protecting the power they already had. Stepping up for someone else is not an option. Because if they make even the smallest mistake, it will cause enormous damage not only to individuals but also to the organizations they belong to.
If that is the case, she should take full responsibility for the mess she has caused. For a not so peacefully country like South Korea, it is only right. Grinning, no laughing manically, she takes off her blindfold, throwing it off to the side, relaying her unawaken sixth eyes.
Not for long.
As the current moment, she couldn't give any sh*t. Power above all, am I right? So showing off, completely obliterating everything around them, shouldn't give Frame or the World Awakened any suspicion of South Korea having anything to do with the destruction soon to befall.
Where they were, they were far enough away from where the residences reside. As long as she controls her attacks, it'll be fine to let loose a little. And to Ben and Cecilia who were witnessing the chilling laughter that sent shivers down to their very bones, had no idea what was in store for them.
Her laughter alone, pierce with her cold, crazy, creepy emotionless facade, scared them out of their wits. The person in front of them was no longer the calm nonchalant child they once saw. It was replaced with a whole new persona.
Perhaps it wasn't only Chelsea who had this, but her too. An alter ego that craves for destruction and chaos. But the younger twin hides her needs really well, with her psychotic manic persona. In the end, they are one. One person, and she controls that persona.
The question is, what of Yulius. Will she lose all control of herself, leading to a split personality? Or will she become one with it? With her? It looks like her emotion took a turn, for better or for worse, is the question.
Though it doesn't look like she cares one bit.
Instantly, she activated Cleave, which amplifies users striking power to unimaginable levels by adjusting the strikes to the level of their opponent.
This obviously puts her at a disadvantage, but who cares. She wants to fight the both of them on their own terms and on the same level. F*ck the rules. F*ck it all. All that matters is displaying the difference between a lowly monkey, and a complete monster.
Once she activated Cleave, she sped towards Cecilia, layered her left arm with energy and punched her in the face. Cecilia saw the attack coming but was unable to dodge or block it in time due to being caught off guard.
Ben who saw the white head aiming for his coworker, used her as a scapegoat. With the girl's attention diverted to Cecilia, he tried to attack her from behind, summoning red wisps with his dominate hand, before launching it at the back of her head.
Yulius's Observational Haki flared off, sensing the danger as it buzzed her, signaling the incoming attack. She lowered her head, placing both hands on the floor to steady herself, before throwing back her right leg, aimed for the blondie's face.
Effectively avoiding his attacks while providing a perfect counter. Moreover, his previous attack also went to Cecilia, sending her flying back, as it seriously injured her, making her incapable of participating in the battle any further.
Ben's overconfident nature believe his attack wouldn't have missed due to how close he was to the girl's head. Unfortunately, he severely underestimates Yulius's reaction speed. Seeing as she not only perfectly avoided his attack unscathed, but also landing a blow to his beautiful face, knocking him back as he spits out blood from biting his tongue.
"You! What have you done?!" He asked, regarding her technique from earlier, noticing the difference in strength has become leveled due to it.
"Whatever do you mean?" She spoke nonchalantly, same tone she used from earlier before she went a little mad. But that's good to hear, Yulius being in control of her madness, not the other way around. Cause boy would that have been bad if she developed a split personality over this. One she has no control over.
But it would seem that her little show from earlier was just her pent-up frustration. And these pitiful fools just so happened to cross path with her, giving her the outlet she needed to relieve herself.
Naturally, she's not one to take out her anger on others. After all, she should have perfect control over her emotional state at all times, so doing something as childish as lashing out is way beyond her. Probably not beyond Chelsea who enjoys making childish excuses in order to do so, but not Yulius.
I wonder what changed. It couldn't possibly be because of a certain raven head, right? There's no way. But she has never once overreacted like this. Even when it came down to other kidnapped children who she helped broke free, never had she had any sort of reaction up until now.
Whatever is going on, she had no clue what that meant. Nor did she have much time to think it over especially when Ben is heading straight at her with his fist imbued with red.
Yulius managed to imbue her fist with white blue-ish aura in time, before clashing with Ben's. "Not going to talk?! Well, that's just fine! I'll defeat you and beat it out of you myself."
"I like to see you try." Pushing the blondie back even though their current powers and strength should be around the same level due to Cleave. But Yulius seems to somehow have the advantage.
Ben realizes this and changes his approach, using underhandedly methods. Imbuing his other arm with black energy, before attacking her face with it.
Yulius imbued her other arm to block his strike with her hand, as she held both of his fist with her palms tightly. He reacted quickly and tried to kick her away, only for her to jump back, avoiding his attack completely.
Seeing she distance herself, Ben grins. He had her right where he wanted her. Or so he thought. But nonetheless, he continues through with his planned attack.
Raising his right hand flat above, and his left hand below it, manipulating his red and black wisps to collide together with the Seo in the middle of it the second he slams his hands together.
"Convergent of Death!"
Interlocking his hands together, set both waves into Yulius. The impact of his attack physically broke the ground below them, creating a small crater as the explosion expanded outwards a little more, before terminating itself.
He was sure she was dead meat but just to be sure, he lowered himself into the crater. Waiting for the smoke to dissipated, his gold iris mixed with red-ish black hues, lay eyes upon a black dome surrounding itself with flames.
It seems like at the last second, the white head warp herself with black flames, easily deflecting his tectonic red waves. Yulius took down her black orb defense and immediately sent a flame control wind style, Rasenshuriken.
Ben tried to avoid it, but with the attack spiraling out and closer towards him, he was forced to change trajectory and focus on defending against it with his bare hands. Immediately enhancing his entire forearms to push back the flame wind style attack.
Failing terribly as the attack expanded out, flashing brighter, looking like it was about to blow. Which was precisely the case. He only realized it until it was bit too late, but he still had a good 4 seconds to wrap his major arteries completely with his energy to lessen his fall.
*BA DUM*
Colliding with its target, the central sphere of the Rasenshuriken detonates, producing a vortex of wind in the immediate area. Within this vortex, countless microscopic wind blades along with black flames are created, piercing every cell in the body.
Once the explosion settles down, Yulius coughed out blood, her head fizzing with annoyance. She may have tried a bit too hard resulting in a headache. Though it's better than frying her brains out, which she was sure to happen if she continues to overuse her eyes.
Turning around to walk away, she was met with a bloody red knife infused with deeply concentrated energy, to her neck. Yulius eyes widen, her fingers twitch uncomfortably as her body automatically tried to fight back. Only to be met with another knife stab in the back, as her head turned to the side to see a half-burned blondie bleeding everywhere from the bottom up.
Both parties dragged their knives down her front and back chest, blood splatting everywhere as Cecilia kicked the girl down on her knees, before Ben finished her off by stabbing her in the head.
Yulius vision blurred as it slowly closed.
It's final who the victors were.
Yulius Tsuna Seo has died in battle.
