Niklas made a cut on his right palm with a pocket knife. He returned the knife to his pants right back pocket. He allowed the blood from the cut to drip on the small statue in his left hand.
A grim feeling of sadness hung around the lanky, 20-year-old man. There were no smiles on his face or vibes of positive excitement. He looked like he had survived hell. He was just hoping that this exercise wouldn't kill him.
He said, "My name is Agu Niklas. Grant me your legacy."
The statue of a miniature, naked, muscular man that was standing akimbo glowed blue in Niklas's hand. Subsequently, a soft humming sound grew into a loud, painful humming, which made Niklas drop the statue and cover his ears with his hands.
The blue glow of the statue evaporated from it and shot into Niklas's forehead. The force from the shot threw him flat on the floor, lying on his back. Not only that, it electrocuted the young man, and he spasmed violently. The electrocution stopped two minutes later.
Niklas sat up with tears in his eyes. He lamented,
"Is my luck really this bad? By the heavens, what did I do to deserve this?"
He coiled his head into his knees to cry, remembering what transpired before this point. But before he could fully indulge in his thoughts, he heard an automated voice in his head. It said,
'You have successfully obtained a system.'
"Huh?"
'System interface loading. Loading success at 60%.'
"Can it really be?" Niklas wondered about a possibility.
'Congratulations on obtaining the legacy of the demi-God, Amadi.'
"It really is," Niklas said, accepting the situation. Tears of conflicting emotions streaked down his cheeks.
'System interface loading. Loading success at 100%. System interface setup is complete.'
A unique interface that could only be seen by Niklas appeared before him.

Niklas cried harder after looking at the system before him. It reminded him of the grief and suffering he endured and the sacrifice his friends made to get him to this point.
The system said to him, 'Your physical qualities were increased upon inheriting the legacy of a demi-god. This can be seen as an extra 10 points added to each of the physical qualities.
'Your mana affinity and mana volume were also affected. Your mana volume distinguishes you from a regular human beginner who has an affinity for lightning. You have the mana volume of a beginner demi-god.
'Complete special missions to increase your strength. Consume special substances to increase your strength. Obtain and use special materials to gain buffs.'
Niklas' heart ached in grief. If it weren't for his recently deceased friends, he wouldn't have obtained this legacy. He stood up and walked to another place in the underground cavern. Like the rest of the cave, this place was well lit by magic orbs embedded in the ceiling. In this place, there were many corpses. A few of the corpses were in dresses similar to the one on him but drenched in blood. These were his recently deceased friends.
He and his friends were on a 'legacy hunt' expedition. They journeyed into the secret cavern of Amadi. After hours of exhausting and meticulous searching, the statue of Amadi's legacy was found. However, they discovered too late that they were being followed by hired killers, and, unfortunately, they were cornered. Niklas was clearly the weakest member of the band. The band was convinced that none of them would survive the incoming assault. Niklas was chosen by the other members of the band to be the sole survivor. Amadi's legacy was handed to him. This meant that the band would fight to their deaths to make sure that none of the hired killers came out alive from the battle. And it happened.
Niklas fell on his knees and wept. He swore on his friends' corpses, saying,
"If whoever is responsible for your deaths is still roaming out there, I promise to find and kill them."
Unlike him, these deceased friends were all orphans. He took his time to dig graves for each of them and bury them. He carved each person's name into their respective gravestones. He didn't bother himself with the corpses of the hired killers, except for a ring he took from one of the corpses. He made his way to the exit of the cavern.
Some metres before the entrance of the cavern, there was a shield with a reflective surface to the right on the wall. Niklas took a look at himself through the reflection from the shield. There were blood stains on his grey long-sleeve sweatshirt from dragging the corpses of his friends. However, the blood stains were not pronounced on his black tactical jean pants. A camouflage backpack hung over his shoulder. It wasn't his; it belonged to one of the deceased teammates. In the backpack, there was a change of clothes similar to the one on him. He proceeded to change his clothes.
Now that he was powerful, he had the opportunity to level scores. He and his family had suffered from the wickedness of people. He had only his mother and a brother, but they were very sick and bedridden. There was not enough money for them to afford high-quality medical services. But this narrative would change from this day on, according to Niklas' thoughts.
Niklas and his family resided in Kernel village, one of the small impoverished settlements that surrounded Main-City-4. Main-City-4 was in the monarchy country of Astro. It was among the four cities of Astro. Main-city-4 and the other three cities each averaged the size of the continent of Africa. The Crown Prince and acting ruler of Astro resided and carried out operations in Main-City-4.
As Niklas raced home at a superhuman speed of 70km per hour, he remembered all the people who had wronged him. There were a bunch of them, but three people took the top seats. He remembered the person who hurt him the most, in the person of the Crown Prince of Astro. The prince murdered his father and took his only sister, Velma. Then there was the prince's right-hand man, Otavio, who made possible the death of his father. The third and final person was the Chief of the Main-City-4's outside settlements. The chief's name was Idris Emmanuel, a corrupt bastard who unjustly snatched lands, farmlands, and farms from Niklas' family.
'Chief Emmanuel will feel my wrath. I swear to God,' he thought.
He slowed to a stop on his doorstep. It was evening when he returned.
"Oh, look, the lazy, futureless lanky bastard has returned," a familiar voice taunted Niklas, subsequently followed by a joint laughter with four other persons.
Niklas turned around to face his mocker. The mocker, Dino, and four other dudes as tall as him stood some metres opposite Niklas's doorstep.
"Hello Dino. It is nice to see you again," Niklas said with a malicious smile.
Dino, "Eat your politeness, twig. You think that you could sneak past us."
Niklas said, "About that, I was running so fast that you couldn't see me. I'm sorry about that."
He attempted to go into his house but was stopped by Dino's yell.
"Where do you think you are going?"
Niklas replied, "Inside my house, of course."
Dino said, "Have you become daft? Aren't you forgetting something?"
Niklas knew what Dino was talking about. He would give Dino 'all the money' he worked for the day or else risk getting beat up. Fortunately, today was going to be different. He was going to be the bully today, and he wasn't going to feel bad about it.
He said to Dino, "I am sure that today is not my birthday and rent has not expired. Nope, I don't think I'm forgetting anything."
"The guts on this imbecile," one of Dino's allies said.
"Dino, deal with this bastard already," another ally urged Dino.
Dino cracked the knuckles on each hand as he said to his friends with malevolence, "Don't worry guys, there is no need to rough up our pay check. I will go talk to him."
His friends had smug faces as he walked up to Niklas. He was a bit taller than Niklas. He said to his victim,
"Niklas, I know you attend those rallies where they talk about resisting the chief. But I'm not the Chief; I'm Dino, and no one will volunteer to defend you from me. Gently hand over the 'money' and I will limit your punishment to just a slap on the face."
To Dino's shock, Niklas said, "Dino, I'm not giving you a dime."
Dino's friends frowned, and so did Dino. Dino threw a left-hand punch to Niklas' face, but again, to his shock, Niklas caught the punch with his skinny left hand and didn't let go despite Dino's struggle. Dino sent his right hand, and Niklas caught it.
Dino's friends were disgusted and yelled at him,
"What are you doing, man?"
"End that idiot!"
"Stop playing peek-a-boo with the twig. Beat him up!"
