Chapter 6 - •FOUR•

The atmosphere in the plan room was very dense.

Jennifer was alone here, yet she felt the atmosphere getting denser as the other three girls were walking around the corner of the house, heading to the room. She was standing in front of a long table, her hands gripping the edge balancing her lost mind.

A big map, several confidential reports, and a big picture of the Dark Wind's great and famous leader were spread out, decorated with marking from a dart board. Jennifer was lost looking at her leader's picture, anger bubbling inside her, towards the Arion.

Jennifer saw Victoria as her Saviour, her everything. It was she who had rescued her from the Arion—the place they both hated with every single cell of her body.

The place from where their greatest enemy, Venom, came from.

Jennifer sighed and let herself fall back onto the comfy chair. The lamps illuminated a soft glow in the whole room, yet a sense of darkness lingered through the air.

The air was filled with the soft and comforting sound of the pitter-patter of the raindrops falling softly on the window of their most secret plan room, which was demanded only when matters were deadly serious.

Jennifer closed her eyes and let her senses take over, her mind darting in every direction, primarily, towards the Arion and the Union.

Things were dark currently, both organizations were in a war. Jennifer suppressed an itching urge to curse.

She could hear their soft footsteps since she had that ability. It was not much, compared to Victoria's.

Victoria was on a new level; she could do a lot.

And that is why she reigned supreme. Victoria didn't just have sharp senses, but she had more than that. She was fast in hand-to-hand combat; she was not human. She could make things crumble with a twirl or a flick of her hand; she could heal deep wounds in a matter of seconds. She was not human.

But Victoria hated it, but not Jennifer.

Both of them were a subject of an experiment 21 years ago. These experiments had turned them into, as the Union called them, Ravens.

The Union was a grand organization led by a posh man, who was commonly known as Master Hades, or by his real name, Master Jung Ho-Jin.

And that man, was, Victoria's biological father. Jennifer was not as powerful as Victoria was in these, unhuman abilities just because of her mother. She would have been if it wouldn't have been for Jennifer's mother. She stopped Ho-Jin from turning her like Victoria, just because she didn't want to lose Jennifer.

Of course, that meant Jenni had a very low chance of being killed. Victoria was hunted. Hunted like prey, but unfortunately, she was too, a powerful predator, incapable of being the prey.

That was why, today, she had embarked on the mission and had killed those 20 men, thrice her size.

She was hunted down again, by Jung Van.

AKA, the leader of the Arion. Also, her uncle. She had taken them down again, for she was consistently underestimated by that man.

The door opened, grasping Jennifer's attention who was half passed out in the armchair with an air of stress lingering in her aura.

According to Victoria, who had just entered the room, the atmosphere was dark; simply it meant two things.

First, the most carefree member was stressed, meaning the situation was grave. Second, the nefarious Arion had struck again.

Her eyes fell on the magistral onyx table. It was decorated with a lot of reports, and a picture of her own, with markings of a dart board around her face.

She was the number one target in the view of the Arion, and they were in no mood to get sidetracked.

She had dealt with a lot today and wanted to sleep despite her insomnia, yet she kept her eyelids open, for the sake of her teammate.

"Jenni," Victoria mumbled as Jennifer hummed in response. Jennifer opened her eyes abruptly as if she had just realized it was her leader talking.

"Sorry, Via. I was just really stressed; you know I was collecting data all through the night-"

She spoke. Victoria sensed stress in her voice and concluded that everyone was tired.

But the darn Arion had other plans. To keep them awake.

Victoria took the prime seat on the table, accompanied by Audrey on her left. Jennifer and Hannah went to the opposite side of the table, to update the leader about their current situation and status.

"What's the stats?" Victoria asked, her chin propped on her elbow, her legs crossed. Audrey, who was sitting beside her swore she felt a burning sensation just by looking at her.

Victoria, however, was too occupied to notice that the younger was appreciating the fine details of her face.

Jennifer cleared her throat, her face assuming a very serious expression.

"Venom,"

Victoria cocked an eyebrow. "Has struck again; and so, has the Arion," Jennifer said, pointing to a report file beside Audrey.

"Well, what is it now? What has The Arion done now?" She asked lazily as if Jennifer had told her the most boring joke.

Jennifer sensed the Alpha's boredom; it was true that she has been subject to attack a lot of times before, but this, however, was serious.

"Via, so, you know how Audrey is in Chan-Sung High School?" Jennifer asked, her heart pounding in her chest.

"Well, I was the one who enrolled her, of course," Victoria replied, a hint of curiosity in her voice: a good sign.

"And you know how Venom has tried to bring down our business empire, much to their constant failure."

Victoria nodded. "Well, this time they're not just aiming for the empire. They've realized that the empire is too strong to be messed with and they know that they can be removed from the Mafia Underworld forever, as well." Jennifer said as she paced around her side of the table, her finger tracing the edge of the table.

"I'm listening," Victoria said when Jennifer paused. "Well, our business empire is safe. But we aren't. Somehow, The Arion managed to track down Audrey." She said calmly.

Victoria's expression faltered for a second. "What?"

Audrey let out a gasp.

"And now they've dispatched Venom to find her, bring her. And yes, they know about her intelligence as well."

Victoria's cold features turned colder, and she felt Audrey's leg shaking underneath the table. The younger was shocked it was her first time being marked down as hostage.

"Via, I-I- I'm afraid-" She stuttered.

Victoria held up her hand to signal Jennifer to stop. "Audrey." She said as the younger's head shot in her direction, her pupils shaking in fear.

"Calm down," she mouthed. Audrey was too stunned to even speak, and just manage to return a stiff nod. "We're gonna handle this, okay?" She spoke. The other two were genuinely shocked to see this side of their leader.

"Even if we have to dress up like high school girls, to protect you and hunt down Venom, that is what we will do." She smiled, assuring the younger who seemed to have been calmed down by the sound of Victoria's voice.

"Actually, Via,"

"That is what we have to do," Jennifer said, her voice strained. As if she had been shot, Victoria shot her head in Jennifer's direction, her eyes widened in utter shock.

Behind her, Audrey snickered.

"She's got some deadly mood swings; I tell you Audrey."
