PLANET: EARTH.
LOCATION: PROFESSOR DONATUS HOUSE, NEW YORK CITY, USA.
Crocodilo landed into the house through the broken roof as it began to roar weakly. Its size began to decrease as its talons turned back to fingers. Its hard scales turned back to skin as its glowing green eyes turned to dull green. His tail sank into his groin.
Crocodilo held its head painfully as its bones reshaped to that of a human, and its size became more humanly and its green body turned back to white.
He raised his head up to a mirror in his front. The once skinny Professor Donatus Stewart was now muscular and his legs were stronger as he could now walk. His once full hair was now bold with no sign of hair.
"O my god, it worked. Best Christmas gift ever," Donatus yelped in joy as he could now walk without the need of crutches.
"Is it me or do I feel a lot stronger," he said as he flexed his muscles. He brushed his injured leg on the table and yelped in pain as the realization of an injury hit him. He looked at the red gashing wound on his leg and groaned in pain. He made to look for a first aid kit when he felt a burning sensation on the wound.
The wound now had a green glow as it started closing up with no scar which surprised Donatus.
"Must be a side effect, or maybe the accelerated regenerative abilities of the Crolex serum was a lot faster than I expected," he soliloquized as a bird flew over the house while making chirping sounds. Donatus looked up completely oblivious of his broken roof.
"WTF," he yelled as a part of the roof fell directly on him and he shielded his face with his hands.
The debris crashed on his arm and scattered. Donatus was very surprised because debris as large as that was capable of shattering his brain.
"How I'm I still alive," he soliloquized and he's eyes glowed dull green.
"Maybe it's because you're not a human anymore," a deep animalistic voice in his head said, startling him as he jumped in fright.
"Who's there?" he asked and looked around but saw no one.
"Angel Gabriel, and merry Christmas," the voice replied and Donatus then knew the voice was resounding in his head and not his surroundings.
LOCATION: HYDRA GUARD, NEW YORK CITY, USA
The Hydra Guard is an NGO which investigates, tackle and destroy problems which affect the Earth, in terms of supernatural events and military operations. The Hydra Guard has branches in all nations of the world but the headquarters was located here in New York City. It is surrounded by a large force field in the shape of a dome with only one entrance which was a metal door.
The building was almost as large as the dome as it was shaped like a giant starfish with white and gold designs. Christmas decorations were hung on the walls. One of the starfish legs was connected to the entrance of the dome, serving as the passageway to the main building.
A black van pulled over in front of the dome and some hydra agents brought Slash out of it and into the passageway speedily as he had lost a lot of blood and was barely conscious.
"Take him to the ward," an agent told a nurse who brought a stretcher which they laid him on. The nurse rushed to medical ward 119 and other nurses helped her carry his now unconscious body to the bed and left to do their own work. A blood bag was connected to his vein and the nurse carried a bucket and poured nanites from it onto his leg and arm. The nanites were programmed to set broken bones to their original state. Snap sounds were heard and the nanites were immediately attracted back into the bucket.
"Nurse 119, meet me in my office," a voice rang from a speaker situated above the ward's door. The nurse sighed and locked the door of the ward behind her as she went to the director's office. The Director was seated on his chair and was typing on the computer when she opened the door.
"Merry Christmas Mr. Director," she greeted as he raised his head up.
"Merry Christmas to you too. How is Agent Slash doing?" he asked but she feigned ignorance.
"Who's Agent Slash?" she asked again even though she knew exactly who he was. The Director looked up and gestured for her to take a seat.
"Agent Slash is our top soldier with 430 confirmed kills in 2years at 18 years of age. He has killed at least 215 people every year for two years. Do you remember now," the Director asked sarcastically.
"Yes I remember now, well, he's condition is very critical. I'm not sure if he'll be able to walk very well again, not to talk of putting down beasts," she said and the Director stood up and went to a shelf on the wall. He removed a red book from it and the shelf divided into two revealing some compartments. He opened a specific one with his finger print and a vial with a red liquid inside was found inside.
"This is a serum which I call, the Star Hydra serum. It can regenerate cells, tissues, organs and even entire systems. When tested on a rat whose leg was amputated, it grew back in fewer than 10 minutes. It has been experimented on various mammals and all results have come positive. We can't lose such a valuable asset because of one beast. We need to administer this serum to him. If successful, his muscles would not wear easily thereby increasing his endurance. He would heal from cuts and bruises sustained during fights like they are nothing. Let's go," the director carried the vial and the nurse followed him to ward 119.
The nurse opened the door for him and locked it behind them. Slash was already sleeping as he breathed profusely. The Director gave her the vial which she hesitantly collected and transferred the liquid into a syringe. She inserted the syringe into his arm but he didn't stir and she released the serum into his blood stream. His body began shaking and the nurse injected him with anesthesia, calming him down.
5MINS LATER
The monitor stopped beeping; signifying Slash's heart had stopped beating. The Director had a very sad and angry face as he banged the bed.
"No no, why didn't it work. I put so many resources in making this good for nothing serum only for it to be useless. It's supposed to heal not kill," the Director shouted as he breathed angrily.
"Dispose the body, he was never gonna be useful anyway," he ordered and left while murmuring something.
Tears filled the nurse's eyes as she attempted to carry the body when a thought hit her.
"If they are not going to organize a proper burial for him, then I might as well send him out as a soldier," she reasoned and didn't remove his suit but dragged him to a truck which was heading outside to dump trash.
"Long life cut short on Christmas eve," she said as she wiped her tears and went back to the building.
