Third person point of view
The next morning, Cecil woke up and let out a grunt. He slept better than he had expected. As he was tired from all the things and was busy recently, he really couldn't care about the place. But nonetheless, he did feel like he would be able to sleep just fine even in the coming few days. The house felt rather peaceful. It had nice vibes.
And the mattress was the same as the one in the other house. He didn't feel like working but he has to. He got up and went to the bathroom. He finished his things and walked out of the room. The house was way too silent. He walked to the kitchen and saw a plate in the wash basin. He assumed Aaron left for work. Of course he would. He woke up pretty late to begin with.
Cecil picked up some bread and had toast for breakfast. He went to his room and did his work. He ordered food for lunch. He had it and got to work again. He stood up to stretch and checked the time. It said 5:23. He decided to go out and get some groceries. He went to the kitchen again and checked if there was anything.
Except for 2 tomatoes, a half used pack of spaghetti, the bread he had in the morning, some butter and 3 cans of beer. There was really ONLY those. He couldn't help ponder how this was still a normal kitchen and what that guy who was living here for so long even having. He shook his head and let out a sigh.
There is a lot to do now. He went back to his room and walked out of the house after picking up his wallet. He checked the map and there was a mart in walking distance. He went there and it was rather big. He would be able to find everything he wants. He pushed a cart and walked around the aisles.
He got all the things that would be required in the house. When he was done, there were two big bags in his hands. He walked out carrying them and wondered if he should look for a taxi. He looked around to see if he would find one. He saw one coming this way and was about to stop it but he heard a car honk.
He looked over and saw a man get out of it. Cecil's eyes went wide. " What are all these ? " Aaron asked walking up to Cecil. " Just this and that ". Cecil said and Aaron nodded. Aaron was going back home when he noticed a figure walking on the side walk with two bags. He looked closely and it was Cecil. He asked the driver to stop on the side and got down immediately.
" Let's go ". Aaron picked up the bags like they weighed nothing. Cecil just followed him. " Aren't these a lot ? " Aaron asked once they settled down and drove away. " It is for two so... " Cecil wasn't that selfish. While living together he would make himself food anyway, so doing for one more wasn't such a big deal. Aaron nodded.
They reached the house and Aaron carried them again. " Give me one ". Cecil asked trying to take it. " It is fine. I can't watch your sorry figure carry them ". Cecil was shocked. " What do you mean ? " " I was a little surprised that you could carry them out of the mart by yourself ". Aaron said and got into the elevator.
Cecil followed him in and turned to Aaron. " What do you mean ? I am fit enough and not - " Some people entered the elevator. Cecil stopped speaking and stood beside Aaron silently. He wasn't that weak. He also had a nice amount of athletic experience. He used to be in the judo club in middle school and also did a bit of Taekwondo.
He did exercise from time to time whenever he could spare time on it. He only didn't have much muscle like Aaron and was a little shorter than him. Cecil glared at Aaron. Aaron could see it from the corner of his eyes. His lips hooked up a little. Cecil went back to glaring at the head of the person in front of him.
They reached the floor and walked into the house. " I am capable of doing it on my own ". Cecil declared walking in. " Yes, yes ". Aaron said like he was giving in to a kid and put the bags on the island. " And I am not short ". " Yeah... just minus three inches from me ". Aaron smirked. Cecil hit Aaron on his arm. " Ohw ". Aaron rubbed his arm.
Cecil snarled and went to take the things out of the bags. Aaron went to his room and walked out after changing. Cecil put the things that go in the cabinets in there and he was arranging things in the fridge and freezer. " Want my help ? " " Nope ". Cecil said and Aaron didn't push it. He wouldn't know which was what about most of the things.
Cecil also preferred to do it by himself so that he would know the location of things properly. Aaron sat on the bar stool. " Here ". Aaron caught the thing Cecil threw him. It was an orange. " Washed ? " " Yes ". Aaron started peeling it and peeled off the skin without breaking. Cecil saw it and his eyebrows shot up.
" That is some talent now ". Aaron chuckled. He ate the fruit and threw the skin away. He washed his hands and turned around to see Cecil already cleaning the island. " Your neatness is giving me anxiety ". Cecil rolled his eyes. " It is called hygiene ". " Right ". Aaron went to his room. Cecil was done and also put the trash away.
He went to sit on the chair to look out to the city with a glass of juice. His apartment also previously had a similar view but he lived lower than this place. This was higher. He let out a breath and wondered if he should cook something for dinner. He looked up at Aaron's room. He smiled after getting an idea.
" Yo ! Old man ! " Cecil shouted for Aaron to hear. The door opened at a rather fast speed than Cecil expected. Aaron stood there with a blank face. Cecil grinned happy with the result. Aaron was about to talk but Cecil beat him to it. " Want to have Aglio E Olio for dinner ? " Aaron folded his hands.
" Not an assassination plan? " Cecil looked unimpressed. " How about you try and see if you will still be alive ? " Aaron nodded. " Sure. Bring it on ". " Tsk ". Cecil got up and went to the kitchen. Aaron also went and sat in the living room to watch television. He glanced at Cecil who was putting on an apron.
He didn't know of its existence. " Where did you get that from ? " Cecil turned around. " What do you mean where did I get it from ? I bought it of course. You did not tell me your kitchen was only for decoration purpose ". Aaron looked away from Cecil and to the television. Cecil huffed and got to cooking.
After a while Aaron could smell something delicious and his head automatically turned to the kitchen. He saw Cecil working hard on it. He never even had anyone over since he started living by himself. But now to have someone who is going to be living with him, it felt strange. Cecil could sense Aaron's gaze on him. He frowned and his hand slowed down a little.
Aaron came out of his thoughts and noticed the way Cecil's hand got a little slow. He quickly turned his head back to the screen. Cecil swished his head back and saw Aaron who was watching television. He wondered if he was just cautious. He never had anyone with him when he cooked in his own home but now he was in a new environment.
He shrugged going back to cooking by concluding that it was because everything was new that he was feeling weird. " Does this guy have eyes on the back ? " Aaron mumbled to himself and glanced at Cecil with a smile. He went back to switching between channels. Cecil plated it and put it on the table. He also made a side dish that goes well with it.
" Go wash your hands ". Aaron turned the television off and got up. He washed his hands and went to sit at the table. The aroma was definitely 10 out of 10. He picked up the fork and took a bite. Cecil ate it without any doubt. Aaron nodded impressed. " Tasty ". Cecil smiled. " Still think it is an assassination attempt ? " Aaron chuckled.
" You sure hold grudges ". Cecil shrugged. The both of them finished dinner and put the dishes away. " You can leave them. There is a housekeeper to do those things ". Cecil nodded. " Also, thanks for the dinner ". " No mention ". Cecil gave a bow and Aaron chuckled. The both of them went to their own rooms.
