Emily sat in the car, her mind filled with questions and growing unease. Ethan's hurried departure from their shopping plans had left her puzzled, and she couldn't help but worry about what had transpired at his office. She had thought he had everything under control, but his tense demeanor over the phone had shattered that illusion.
Amid her contemplation, her phone's ringing interrupted her thoughts. She picked up the call, expecting to hear Ethan's voice on the other end. As the call progressed, her brow furrowed with concern.
"Hello, Ethan... yes, we're still on the way... what? There's a riot? Okay, I'm coming back now," Emily responded before ending the call. She instructed the driver to turn the car around and head back to their house.
"Mummy, why?" Mia's voice rang out, laced with disappointment and confusion.
Emily sighed, realizing that her daughter wouldn't understand the situation fully. "Because there's a riot going on, dear," she explained gently. "It's for our safety. We'll have to reschedule our plans for another day."
Although Mia reluctantly nodded her head, her discontent was palpable. Her excitement about the shopping trip had been abruptly dashed.
As the car retraced its route, Emily's anxiety grew. Her concerns deepened when the driver's voice broke through her thoughts.
"We have a problem, ma'am," the driver announced.
Emily's heart pounded as she asked, "What is it?"
"The road is blocked, ma'am," he replied, his voice filled with concern.
Unease settled over Emily as she glanced out the window and spotted a black car obstructing their path. Her heart raced as she saw three menacing figures emerging from the vehicle, brandishing firearms. Panic surged within her.
In that moment, Emily knew they were in grave danger. She hurriedly sent a text message to Ethan, praying he would receive it in time.
But in that moment one of them reached the driver and with a bang he hit the driver at the back of his head which left the driver unconscious
and with that they dragged both Emily and mia out of the car and before Emily could scream , darkness descended, and her world faded into unconsciousness.
