Chapter 48 - Chapter 47: A Morning Discovery

As the morning sun cast a gentle glow across the room, Emily lay awake in bed, her mind slowly rousing from the embarrassing thoughts of how she woke up on Ethan's bed. Thoughts swirled within Emily, like fragments of dreams she couldn't quite grasp. The room felt unusually quiet, and then she realized that Mia hadn't come bouncing into the room, as she often did.

Curiosity piqued, Emily decided to check on her. The moment she stepped into Mia's room, she was met with an unexpected sight. There mia was, seated at her computer, engrossed in typing a series of intricate computer codes. Lines of text scrolled down her screen at an astonishing pace, and just looking at it made Emily's head spin.

"Mommy, good morning!" Mia's cheerful voice snapped Emily out of my stupor.

I smiled warmly at her, still slightly bewildered by what I had just witnessed. "Good morning, sweetie. Did you sleep well?"

Mia nodded enthusiastically, her eyes bright with excitement. "Yes, Mommy! I also saw Daddy carry you to his room last night when you fell asleep on the sofa."

Emily's cheeks flushed crimson, and she stammered, "Oh, um, yes, I did fall asleep on the couch."

then Trying to change the subject, Emily asked, "Have you bathed yet?"

Mia shook her head. "Not yet, Mommy. I just woke up from sleep."

Emily chuckled, teasing her gently. "Well, no wonder you're stinking!"

Mia's face contorted into an exaggerated expression of horror. "I'm not stinking!" as She sniffed her own arm dramatically to prove her point.

Emily couldn't help but laugh at her antics. "Alright, little miss, let's see if you're stinking or not."

and With that, Emily launched a playful tickle attack, and Mia's giggles filled the room. Together, we made our way to the bathroom, sharing a special moment that reminded Emily of the precious bond she had with her new daughter. It was in these ordinary, everyday interactions that her love for the small girl grew stronger, and my heart felt full.
