Chapter 37 - Chapter 36: A Kiss to Remember

Emily couldn't believe what she had just done. It happened so impulsively and unexpectedly that she felt a wave of embarrassment wash over her. In fact, she didn't even realize what she had done until it registered to her that she had kissed Ethan. Her face flushed pink as she pulled back, her eyes widening in surprise.

Ethan, however, had an amused glint in his eyes as he looked at Emily's flustered expression. "Well, that was quite bold of you," he remarked, a playful smirk dancing on his lips.

Emily stammered, her voice shaky, "I-I'm sorry. I don't know what came over me. That was completely uncalled for."

Ethan couldn't help but chuckle at her embarrassment. He enjoyed seeing her flustered, and he found her reaction adorable. "No need to apologize," he assured her. "It seems like I have that effect on you."

Emily sighed, feeling a mixture of emotions—embarrassment, confusion, and a hint of attraction. "Can you put me down now?" she requested, still slightly embarrassed by the impulsive act.

Ethan, however, had other plans. With a mischievous glint in his eyes, he responded, "No way. You climbed on top of me voluntarily and molested me. Do you think I should still let you down?"

Emily's eyes widened, and she blushed even deeper at his words. "People are watching," she whispered urgently, glancing around at their surroundings.

Sure enough, Lily, Emily's friend and bridesmaid, was grinning and winking at her knowingly. Mia, Ethan's daughter, was clapping and cheering, seemingly delighted by the unexpected turn of events.

Emily felt like she wanted to disappear. The playful banter and the public display had left her utterly embarrassed. She buried her face in Ethan's chest, feeling mortified yet strangely content.

Ethan chuckled softly, holding her close. "Don't worry, Emily," he whispered into her ear. "It was just a kiss. Besides, it seems like our little audience enjoyed the show."

As they stood there in each other's arms, Emily couldn't help but smile, her embarrassment slowly giving way to a newfound sense of comfort and connection with Ethan.
