Chapter 3 - Peace before the storm [1]

"Great, just great school, and I am sick. What a great combo, and it's a monday too," a young male teenager mutters to himself, his tone laced with sarcasm.

The boy gets up and does his morning routine only to realise the toothpaste was finished, he grumbles as he scrapes whatever is left of it and continues his business.

When he wears his uniform, he checks himself as he prepares himself for the troublesome day.

"Well, aren't you a failure? Study well at school. You might get some much needed braincells, " his father says, his voice filled with sarcasm as he prepares to leave for work.

The teenager says goodbye as he goes to the bus stop, ignoring his father's comments. He had already gotten used to it already, so it went in one ear and left the other.

"It's just a few more years, and I will be free.." The boy thinks to himself as he boards the bus.

"Yo Richard!" The school guard greets him as he enters the school. "Morning uncle." Richard greets the guard as he proceeds to the school.

Usually school starts at seven thirty but Richard came earlier as he was part of the student leader committee and he had duty that day.

"Student leader committee, my ass..more like child labour.. These teachers are just pushing work onto me.." Richard grumbles to himself.

Richard does his work properly despite not wanting to mark the students who were late.

"Next!" Richard says as he marks the students.

A red-haired woman with curves so great any man would drool was standing there even Richard was awe-struck for a while before returning to his usual self. "Your name is?"

"Amelia Ainsworth," she says, irritated due to being late. Amelia was known and loved by all in the school she had the curves, the face, the money, the grades, and the persona. All in all, she screamed one word:success. Richard did like her but didn't act on his feelings, knowing that any man who went after her would get brutally rejected, so he did what anybody would and avoided her.

After marking the students, Richard leaves as he goes to class...

Groups of female students can be seen trying to grab the attention of a man who seemed to pay them no mind.

The man had blonde hair bright as the sun and eyes that were perfect as sapphires. He was the envy of every guy at school due to his good looks, popularity with the girls , and good grades. His name was Edward Reinhardt. Richard personally didn't like him as Edward was like shounen protagonist always helping people and acting like some hero of justice."

The teacher comes in and starts taking attendance..

"Lastly, Richard Fluenti?" the teacher asks.

"I am present, Mr John," Richard says, seemingly bored.

Little did Richard know that he would miss that boredom in a few days.
