Alysia was naturally puzzled by Rama's behavior. First, he mentioned the name of something she had never heard of before. Now suddenly, he claimed that the enemies were getting closer.
Moreover, how could he know that they were approaching when she herself didn't sense anything? Did his senses work that sharply?
"What are you talking about? What do you mean by two?" Alysia asked, bewildered and anxious.
Rama turned to her. "There are two enemies around here. They're a type of Ghost you might not have seen before."
Alysia furrowed her brows as she looked at Rama. "Have you seen them before?"
"I have," Rama nodded.
Initially, Alysia didn't quite believe what Rama was saying, but when she saw his serious expression and his vigilant gaze, she felt that she should take his warning seriously.
"Okay," Alysia said. "Tell me about these Ghosts."
"They—"
Before Rama could answer her question, thick fog blew in from in front of them. The fog was so dense and tall that it blocked their vision. Shortly after, the fog condensed and coalesced into a gigantic Ghost with a body resembling that of a wolf.
'Shit, they can take on forms like that too,' Rama thought anxiously.
Meanwhile, beside him, Alysia's eyes widened as she saw the form of the Ghost. She had fought a Ghost that had the shape of an animal before, but she had never faced one this enormous in size.
"Is that what you meant?" Alysia asked.
"Yes. Be careful; it can move fast too," Rama said.
The Specter Behemoth – a giant mist wolf – now bared its teeth and let out a growl. It looked like a real wolf in its demeanor but with a colossal body made of mist, making it appear even more menacing.
The giant wolf lunged toward them. Just as Rama had warned, it could move quite fast, which caught Alysia a bit off guard. Fortunately, she managed to dodge just in time to evade its claws.
Rama also managed to dodge in the nick of time. However, the giant wolf wasted no time; it immediately turned and attacked again. This time, it chose Rama as its target, perceiving him as the most dangerous among them.
"If only I could use Soul Fusion, I would finish this quickly!" Rama complained in his mind but understood that for now, there was nothing he could do. So he had to content himself with fighting only with his sword.
Unfortunately, the Specter Behemoth in the form of a giant wolf was a B-Rank Supernatural. Rama wasn't sure if he could kill it with just his sword, especially after learning that the Specter Behemoth had taken the form of a wolf, a creature known for its speed and hunting prowess.
The giant wolf lunged at Rama with incredible speed. In the blink of an eye, it was in front of Rama, slashing its claws.
*CLANG!*
Rama managed to block the claws with the sword blessed with divine magic, but he was pushed backward. Nevertheless, he managed to stand his ground.
"It's faster and stronger than the chubby guy I met in the cave."
Suddenly, he saw something move quickly from behind the giant wolf. It was a thin azure mist that stood out. Not long after the appearance of the azure mist, a gash appeared on the giant wolf's leg, mist oozing from the wound.
The giant wolf let out a loud, piercing cry that shattered the silence of the night. Yet, despite the attack, it still stood tall. In fact, it looked even angrier now.
The giant wolf shifted its gaze from Rama and turned to search for its other attacker, Alysia.
"She has a good technique. Was that magic just now?" Rama wondered. "Well, whatever it was, if the two of us work together, our chances of survival will be much better."
The azure mist appeared again, accompanied by a bluish lightning. Alysia moved so swiftly that Rama could only see her in a blurry motion.
Not wanting to waste the opportunity, Rama also moved to attack. "My sword mastery may still be inferior to hers, but at least I won't be a burden like before."
Alysia continued to attack the giant wolf's legs with her sword techniques and magic, causing the azure mist to constantly swirl around the Specter Behemoth's legs. She aimed to damage its legs as severely as possible to limit its movements.
Meanwhile, Rama also lent his assistance. He couldn't move as fast as Alysia, but he could still inflict a significant amount of damage. Attacked by two people at once, the giant wolf struggled to focus, and it couldn't attack effectively.
It kept circling roughly and swinging its claws. Yet, the claws that swung only became targets for Rama and Alysia's slashes.
Not long after, another howl filled with pain echoed, and the giant wolf fell to the ground. Rama was surprised; despite its misty body, the wolf could still create a thudding sound when it fell.
Unlike him, who was surprised by this discovery, Alysia wasted no time and headed straight for its neck. She, with more combat experience against Supernaturals than Rama, knew that they had to attack as hard as they could when the opportunity presented itself.
With her sword enveloped in azure mist and lightning, Alysia charged and leaped while raising her sword, intending to sever the giant wolf's neck.
However, before she could land the blow, a chain made of mist shot from the front. Alysia, still in her arc to descend, couldn't dodge despite noticing the chain's arrival.
