Naturally, those zombified were seen as enemies and were eliminated, but some were captured and taken to the hunters' guild headquarters for research, along with some corpses of the fiend zombies.
Among the losses, the unawakened individuals benefited the most. Thanks to the shelter's walls holding firm against the fiend zombie onslaught and the Eastern gate not being among those attacked, they faced no direct danger. This is one of the few advantages of being unawakened: not confronting life-threatening dangers such as this.
