Chapter 34 - Ultimate Prey

Deep in the thick forest, not far from Spartan City, there was a massive spaceship. It was modern and advanced, shining in the sunlight that filtered through the tall trees.

Suddenly, the spaceship underwent a remarkable change, its surface transforming and blending seamlessly with the natural surroundings. It became transparent, like a ghostly image.

With a powerful and mysterious whoosh, the spaceship propelled itself away from the familiar landscape, embarking on a mysterious journey to an unknown realm.

Meanwhile, in the peaceful forest, the departure of the otherworldly spacecraft left a noticeable impact on the wooded area.

A circular clearing appeared among the once dense foliage.

The trees were meticulously cleansed, as if by some otherworldly force. In the center of this strange phenomenon was a man.

He had a lean and unassuming physique, showing his natural strength. However, his skin had patches of different colors, ranging from deep browns to fiery reds and pale whites.

He lay on the ground, gazing intently at the vast sky above.

He wore a majestic cape on his broad shoulders, held a sturdy shield in one hand, and had a gleaming spear resting beside him.

"What just happened?"

Murky wondered aloud, his voice filled with confusion and disbelief.

He remembered had endured a painful experience of being attacked and dismembered until he passed out, only to be miraculously restored.

He had expected to die, but to his amazement, he found himself alive and whole again. Murky gathered his courage and cautiously stood up, prepared for the expected pain that never came. He felt a mix of disbelief and confusion, as if trapped in a surreal sense of familiarity.

"I can't understand this," he whispered, his emotions a whirlwind of conflicting feelings, swirling and raging within him.

Examining his newly restored form, Murky marveled at the remarkable change that had occurred.

"My body," he whispered, fixated on his left hand, which had previously been stunted and deformed but was now restored to its natural state.

The burden that had weighed heavily on his back was gone, replaced by a newfound lightness and freedom of movement.

Also, Murky found out he is no longer constrained to looking upwards all the time, his vision now extended straight ahead without any obstacles.

Realizing what just happened, he could only laugh wryly,

"That sadistic bastard did not even put an anesthesia…

"But-

"The problems that troubled me in this realm have disappeared, thanks to the intervention of the mysterious elder Progenitor," he declared, his expression a mix of astonishment and lingering disbelief, as if he still struggled to comprehend deep within his heart, the magnitude of his restoration.

However, as the full significance of his transformation sank in, Murky's brow furrowed, and a sense of concern clouded his features.

Ding!

A notification chimed in his mind, diverting his attention from his physical change. With a mixture of apprehension and curiosity, he read the words that appeared before him.

[ Name: StupidLove.

[ Level: 1.

[ Blood class: 5.

[ Status: Ultimate Human Prey. ]

Unfazed by this shocking revelation, Murky was somewhat expecting this, after all, he heard what the elder Progenitor meant.

He narrowed his eyes, focusing on the classification of "Ultimate Human Prey."

Though he didn't fully grasp the implications, he instinctively understood its significance.

It meant that he now belonged to the esteemed ranks of fifth-class Weremorphs, regarded as the ultimate target for hunting.

Back in his first nightmare, the Taming Hundred, where dragons roamed with their powerful genes, and even in the world of reality, where mutations shaped existence, the Weremorphs and Blood Progenitors had their own distinct classes too.

Among these classes, beings with level one and class five genes were unmatched, possessing abilities and strength surpassing those with class four, three, two, and one genes.

However, there was a crucial difference between the Alien versus Progenitors world and the dragon-infested realm or Real world: the process of transformation.

Murky knew that dragon genes and mutated genes have instant metamorphosis, but activating the Blood class gene ability of the Progenitors in this Alien versus Progenitors movie required a set of action.

"To unlock and enhance my Blood gene class and access their technology, I have to defeat a level one Weremorph with class one genes," Murky thought to himself, his voice filled with determination.

"By doing that, I can unleash the power of the Blood Progenitors' level one class one gene too. Then, I need to defeat two level one Weremorphs with class two genes to awaken the next class of the Blood Progenitors. This cycle continues, and so will I."

As Murky contemplated the path ahead, he was suddenly interrupted.

The nightmare system, a mysterious entity that ruled this realm, sent him a notification with a loud again.

Ding!

Intrigued, he read the message:

[ The player StupidLove has now become the ultimate prey, possessing the abilities of the Blood Progenitors. ]

Seeing this, a weaker person might have been afraid upon receiving such news, as it meant that StupidLove would become the main target of all Progenitors, hunted down for the ultimate prize. But Murky, with a smirk on his face, remained unfazed.

Eventually, his face began to contort and then he looked up at the sky with a opened eyes.

"Hahahahhaa!"

He laughed, his laughter filling the air and his entire being.

Minutes passed as Murky's laughter echoed, gradually fading away.

"That guy really did it, thinking I'm incapable of killing him or his Progenitors and unaware of what it means to become the ultimate prey," he muttered with a mix of amusement and defiance.

To him, the idea of refusing the invitation to slaughter his enemies was pathetic.

"Don't worry…".

"You will soon regret you decision, haha! It is a thanks for unknowingly gave me a shortcut," he declared, clenching his fist tightly and staring at it intensely.

Restless and unwilling to waste time, Murky took a determined step forward.

"The advantage of being the ultimate prey as a human is that I can grow stronger with each Progenitor and Weremorph I defeat," he stated firmly.

His footsteps echoed with significance, each step resonating with power, until he suddenly stopped.

"Huh? Did I leave my weapons behind?"

Murky murmured absentmindedly. And so, he turned back, retracing the path he had just taken.

In the depths of Murky's mind, a realization dawned upon him: there were no Progenitors nearby.

This knowledge settled in his mind like a dense fog, affecting every thought. With this understanding, a sense of urgency enveloped him, and he pondered his next course of action.

After much consideration, a strong determination came over him, and he spoke with grim resolve, "I must eliminate all creatures larger than dogs."

Murky understood the profound implications of the impending arrival of the Weremorphs, knowing that these beings would have a significant influence over such formidable creatures.

To prevent the Weremorphs from exploiting these animals, he recognized the necessity of eradicating them completely, like fire by fire.

And so, Murky began his journey, walking through the landscape with deliberate steps.

He was different from his Spartan companions who preferred to be stealthy and watchful at all times.

Murky's focus was not on the dark shadows or possible dangers, but rather on the passing of time.

He glanced at the clock, knowing that each minute brought him closer to taking on a leadership role.

Confidence filled him, as he believed he had the skills to conquer a bear or defeat a pack of wolves on his own.

However, he found himself at a crossroads.

Where could he find those feral creatures?

Nevertheless, a frown appeared on Murky's face, showing his growing confusion.

"In Spartan history, it's common for trials of Spartan to be filled with wild creatures. Even in movies, I should have encountered them by now.

"So why are they avoiding me?

"If they are not, why are they missing?"

As he pondered this question, a spark of insight flickered in his mind. He proceeded cautiously, moving forward with careful steps. He held his shield firmly in one hand and his spear ready for action in the other.

Near a tall tree, he noticed something interesting.

Approaching it carefully, Murky extended his spear and gently poked the mysterious object. A realization hit him like a cold wind: it was a lifeless dead body. However, there was something strange about its condition.

"Why has all life been drained from this corpse?"

He wondered aloud, his voice filled with curiosity and concern.
